This study aims to demonstrate how UUM implement and uses the BSC to enhance and improve its strategic plans by addressing the issues facing its strategic management process. This study employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected using interview and reviewing the university quarterly and annual reports, organizational structure and the university’s webpage as well as its news bulletins. Data were analyzed qualitatively using thematic analysis. Consistent with Kaplan and Norton BSC model in public sector, findings indicates that the case institution implements the BSC ideology by adapting the concept such that it reflects the unique contextual needs of UUM. This study found that...

Africa has been described as one of the most vulnerable region with the COVID-19 infection during the initial phase of the outbreak, due to the fact that Africa is a great commercial partner of China and some other EU and American countries. Which result in large volume of travels by traders to the region more frequently and causing African countries face even bigger health threat during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the fact that the control and management of COVID-19 pandemic rely heavily on a country’s health care system, and on average Africa has poor health care system which make it more vulnerable indicating a need for timely intervention to curtail the spread. In this paper, we estimate the exponential growth rate and basic reproduction number (R0) of COVID-19 in Africa to ...

Designed as a case study, five major oil producing countries are the focus of this positivistic study: Nigeria, Mexico, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Russia. Data is collected through secondary sources. One-tailed and two-tailed tests carried out on the relationship between speculation and oil prices for each of the five countries yield critical values lower than the alpha. Thus, the null hypothesis is rejected in favor of the alternate hypothesis that 'there is a significant and positive correlation between commodity derivatives (oil futures) and oil prices'. The study found that while there is a positive relationship between speculation in the commodity derivatives market and oil prices, such a relationship is at best weak and attributes the high prices to several factors, including political instability, high and rising demand from overheating economies such as China, and falling production levels, among others. The paper emphasized the need to enhance the physical and financial transparency of the energy market, as well as the operation of the supply and demand fundamentals, including regulating against insider trading and market manipulation practices, strengthening the reporting requirements of the dealers in the market, and strengthening capital adequacy and margin requirements.

Also to determine were chloride, calcium, manganese, sulphate, nitrate, fluoride, magnesium, iron, chromium (hexavalent), calcium, total hardness, and total coliform and escheridia coli. The concentration of pollution indicators ranged from 26.2 to 31.2oc for temperature, 0.06 to 0.23 ms/cm for electrical conductivity, 0.03 to 0.11 mg/l for total dissolve solid, 1.0 to 461 ofTU for turbidity, 12.0 to 550.

The study employed the techniques of non-linear ARDL approach as well as Diks and Panchenko (2006) non-linear test of causality. A comprehensive index of financial development is constructed using PCA. The empirical outcomes of the study reveal that financial development in Nigeria impedes the quality of the environment. The government should encourage lenders to ease the funding for the energy sector and allocate financial resources for environment-friendly businesses rather than wasting them in consumer financing. Moreover, economic growth and FDI are positively and significantly related to carbon emissions. On this basis, the government should introduce environmentally friendly technologies that will help improve the quality of the environment, increase long-term sustainability, and save resources for generations to come. A key policy consequence o...
