A toxicological evaluation of the aqueous extract of its fresh leaves was conducted in female rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Low levels of phytochemicals (alkaloids, saponins, tannins, cardiac glycosides, and flavonoids) were found while 0.23, 0.03, 0.82 and 9.5 mg/g of iron, lead, sodium and potassium, respectively, were detected. Acute toxicity study was conducted with oral administration of 200, 400, 800 and 1600 mg/kg of the extract once to groups I, II, III and IV, respectively. Four rabbits died within 24 h and LD50 was estimated (940 mg/kg). 80, 40 and 20 mg/kg of the extract were administered daily to groups I, II, and III, respectively, during sub-acute toxicity study for 14 days. All controls were given water. Statistical analysis of aspartate amino transferase (AST), alanine amino transferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), albumin and protein showed no significant changes at P eosinophils, he...

From the various controllers available one would find it difficult to identify the most appropriate one for excellent performance. Comparative studies of the performances of the conventional PID, Fuzzy PID and Neural PID controllers on systems of tanks are conducted in this work. The simulation results show that Fuzzy PID has smaller settling time in single, four and five tank while conventional PID has smaller settling time in couple and three tank control system.

Using approximately 230 pb ÿ1 of data collected with the Run II D0 detector, we observe 522 100 X3872 candidates. The mass difference between the X3872 state and the J= is measured to be 774:9 3:1stat 3:0syst MeV=c 2. We have investigated the production and decay characteristics of the X3872 and find them to be similar to those of the 2S state.

Research paper thumbnail of Search for a fermiophobic Higgs boson in the diphoton decay channel with the ATLAS detector

The European Physical Journal C, 2012

A search for a fermiophobic Higgs boson using diphoton events produced in proton-proton collision... more A search for a fermiophobic Higgs boson using diphoton events produced in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of √ s = 7 TeV is performed using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb −1 collected by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. A specific benchmark model is considered where all the fermion couplings to the Higgs boson are set to zero and the bosonic couplings are kept at the Standard Model values (fermiophobic Higgs model). The largest excess with respect to the background-only hypothesis is found at 125.5 GeV, with a local significance of 2.9 standard deviations, which reduces to 1.6 standard deviations when taking into account the look-elsewhere effect. The data exclude the fermiophobic Higgs model in the ranges 110.0-118.0 GeV and 119.5-121.0 GeV at 95 % confidence level.
