Aluminium and its alloys play an important role in engineering and metallurgy field. Aluminium and its alloys have excellent corrosion properties, ease of fabrication and high specific strength coupled with best combination of toughness and formability. TIG welding technique is the fastest processes used in aerospace, ship and marine industries to analyze the data and evaluate the influence of input parameters on tensile strength of Al and Al-alloys. In the present work Aluminium plates are welded by TIG welding system to improve welding quality of Aluminum (Al) plate. Value stream mapping is a method of recovering a product’s production path from door to door. In a process, non value added actions are identified in each step and between each step by their wastage time and resources. VSM is one of the lean tools to eliminate waste and improved operational procedures and productivity. Current state map is prepared and analyzed and suggested to improve the operational process. Accordingly the future state map is drawn after present study, we come to know about improvement intact time by applying the proposed changes if incorporated in future state map.

This paper presents the heat transfer and fluid flow in a channel using an inclined block as an o... more This paper presents the heat transfer and fluid flow in a channel using an inclined block as an obstacle. The heat transfer augmentation with the inclined block is compared with a plane channel at same Reynolds number. The side of the block is taken as b= 0.25. The fluid flow is steady, laminar and incompressible. CFD technique is to be used for the solution of the particular problem. The governing equations are solved using finite volume method. By using inclined block between a channel the heat transfer is augmented considerably. This is due to the large vortices produced by the inclined block as compared to the plane channel.
