Materials and methods: Twenty eight subjects (20 female and 8 male) participated in this study. Blood samples from healthy subjects were collected before 5 days of the fasting of Ramadan month and 28 th day of the fasting of Ramadan month. Platelet Parameters were analyzed by using fully automatic hematological analyzer and liver enzymes were analyzed spectrophotometer (Biolab kits). Results: The study in female subject discovered no difference in MPV, PCT, ALT activity, and AST activity, while PLT count, PDW and LPCR decreased during the fasting of Ramadan month. In other hand, the study in male subject discovered a decrease in platelet parameters (PLT, MPV, PDW, PCT and LPCR), while ALT activity increased during the fasting of Ramadan month. Also this study in male subject discovered no difference in AST activity during the fasting of Ramadan month. Conclusions: This study shows that fasting in the Ramadan month had effect on platelet parameters in males while had effect on PLT, PDW and LPCR in female health. This study shows fasting Ramadan had effect on ALT activity in male.

Methods: Thirty female subjects participated in current study. Estimation Red Blood Cell Parameters, Total and differential leucocytes counts were before 3 days and 28th day of the Ramadan month that Estimation was using fully automatic hematological analyzer. Results: Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, Mean corpuscular volume (MCV), Mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), Mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), Red Cell Density Width-coefficient of variation (RDW-CV), Red Cell Density Width-standard deviation (RDW-SD),Lymphocytes percent and Neutrophils percent were significantly increased during the Ramadan fasting period as compared to pre-Ramadan fasting period .White blood cells (WBC) count decreased significantly in end of the Ramadan month as compared to pre-Ramadan fasting. Conclusions: This study shows in females' student graduate that fasting in the Ramadan month had effect on red blood cell indices and Total and differential leukocytes counts except RBC count and MXD.

Methods: Sixty consenting subjects of which 30 controls (non-smokers) and 30 cases (smokers) were studied. Smokers were divided into two groups based on pack-year of cigarettes smoked. The red blood cell parameters and glucose level were analyzed in smoker and non-smoker. Independent T-test was used to comparison of a smoker and also one way ANOVA was used to comparison packyear of smoking groups. Results: The present study showed no changes significantly in red blood cell parameter and glucose level between in smoker. The current result appeared alteration of red blood cells counts (RBC), hemoglobin level (HGB), hematocrit percent (HCT) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration level (MCHC), while no difference of mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), red cell distribution width (RDW) and glucose level in duration of smoking. Conclusions: This study revealed that cigarette smoking statistically no effect on RBC counts and its related parameters and glucose level among healthy. However, the duration of smoking statistically had the effect on RBC, HGB, HCT and MCHC while had no effect on MCV, MCH, RDW and glucose level.

Scientists have identified about 4,000 different substances in tobacco all of which have certain degree of toxic effects, at least 43 of them known carcinogens. The aim of this study is to assess the extent of adverse effect of shisha on hematological parameters in male population of Rania City in Iraq. Materials and Method: experimental study a purposive (non probability) sample of fifty-five male subjects participated in this study. The method of the study is the following; shisha smoker (n= 30) and non-smoker (n= 25). Fresh peripheral blood samples from healthy adult non-smokers and smokers (males) are collected and analyzed for Red Blood Cells (RBC) count, hemoglobin (Hb) content, packed cell volume PCV , MCV, MCH ,MCHC and RDW, total and differential leucocytes (WBC) counts and total platelets count and its parameters by using fully automatic hematological analyzer. Results: The smokers of shisha have non-significantly higher level of Hb, HCT, RBCs, WBC count, LYM and platelets counts and its parameters while NUET is insignificantly down in smoker. However, MXD and MCHC are significantly lower in cigarette smokers than that of non-smokers. The present study clarifies that age have no significant effect on hematological parameters except LYM NUET, MID and MCV in smokers. The study shows that the duration of smoking has no significant effect on hematological parameters except LYM and NUET. The current result reveals number of smoking weekly has no significant effect on hematological parameters except NUET. Conclusion: The study concludes that smoking alters hematological parameter that is injurious to health.

Initiation of appropriate therapy decreases severity and clinical outcome of the disease which requires early and accurate diagnosis. Pathogenesis due to typhoid leads to various biochemical alterations. Present study was undertaken to investigate serum LDH activities in typhoid fever and to assess its clinical utility as a biochemical marker in typhoid fever. Comparison of LDH levels were also done in other fevers and healthy controls. Other parameters were also investigated viz, serum urea, serum creatinine, serum sodium and serum potassium. In the present study we observed a statistically significant increase in concentrations of LDH in typhoid fever patients when compared with other fever patients and in healthy controls. One of the most efficient sources of energy is the solar energy especially for cooling and heating applications. This paper, described the simulation of a double-effect solar absorption system in Yemen using water lithium bromide solution as a working fluid. The system will be applied to a typical traditional house in Yemen. The performance of the system will be analyzed based on different high pressure generator temperature for the yearly solar radiation data. At higher pressure generator temperature, the results show a higher coefficient of performance of the system. This simulation also estimate high pressure generator heat transfer required to operate the system. As a result, the size of solar collector area and the cost of such system will be calculated.
