Taking outdated tetracycline (an antibiotics) can cause serious side effects. Expired Tetracycline was known to be responsible for kidney impairment. There have been rare reports of renal tubular dysfunction or Fanconi-like syndrome associated with ingestion of outdated tetracycline. Therefore outdated Tetracycline hydrochloride drug should be thrown out or discarded if there is any leftover. Discarding unused, outdated or expired tetracycline hydrochloride in the toilet is a common practice. But this method may not be any safer than throwing in the trash, because it still is contaminating water supply. Deposing of such drugs is a major problem in today's pharmaceutical Industries. The present study used the Tetracycline Hydrochloride Drug in textile processing. The successful dyeing of Jute fiber with this drug by the exhaust process has paved the way for the use of expired or ineffective medication...

The waste cocoon which has potential amino acids and properties which are still unexploited is used in various stages of textile processing and even in the treatment of the major textile waste which is the waste water generated in the processing of textile especially dyeing. The property of the protein to behave as a natural flame retardant is utilized. In the present study the cocoon solution and powder was prepared. This solution was applied on different substrate including both synthetic and natural fabric. From the XRD data of the cocoon shell it is very much clear that the amorphous region is nearly 50% and crystalline it’s nearly about 12% and hence the solubility in the alcohol is easier indicating the presence of ketonic nature being more dominant. From FT-IR results, the major groups present in the cocoon shell are at 1232 cm-1 which reflects amide stretching, 1508cm-1 the nitro stretching and 1618 cm-1 ketone stretching whereas in the cocoon powder has 3388 which is also for amide stretching and 1681 cm-1 for ketone. Thus, this is the first attempt to study the recycling and reusing of cocoon waste in textile processing as an auxiliary as well as a finishing agent. It is interesting to observe that this green technology is very much viable if attempted on commercial scale.
