Since the success of any tourism business is determined by tourism planning, development research... more Since the success of any tourism business is determined by tourism planning, development research and marketing, the first thing we review in this article is GIS application for tourism planning. Both tourism and IT increasingly provide strategic opportunities and powerful tools for economic growth, redistribution of wealth and development of equity around the globe. GIS technology offers great opportunities for the development of modern tourism applications using maps. This technology integrates common database operations such as query with the unique visualization and geographic analysis benefits offered by maps. GIS is used for bringing the georeferenced data (spatial and non spatial) of geographic location Zlatibor and Zlatar into digital maps. Each object is assigned to a thematic layer. Primena savremene tehnologije u promociji banjskih turističkih destinacija uslovila je promene ka... more Primena savremene tehnologije u promociji banjskih turističkih destinacija uslovila je promene kako na strani ponude, tako i na strani tražnje. Kreatorima marketing aktivnosti određene destinacije pružila je niz mogućnosti za uspostavljanje brzog, ekonomski isplativog, informativnijeg, geografski pokrivenijeg kontakta sa potencijalnim posetiocima. Sa druge strane, savremenim turistima koji imaju sofisticiranije želje i preferencije omogućila je detaljnu vizuelizaciju i upoznavanje sa destinacijom i pre odlaska u istu, kao i postavljanje fotografija, video zapisa i komentara o posećenoj banji. Ovaj rad izučava veb sajtove i društvene medije koje destinacijski menadžment može iskoristiti za potrebe promocije i postizanje vidljivosti ne samo na domaćem, već i na međunarodnom tržištu. Cilj rada je da se putem analize strukture veb sajtova, foruma, blogova, vlogova, Facebook-a , Pinteresta, Instagrama, Twitter-a Vrnjačke i Sokobanje, kao dve najposećenije banjske destinacije Srbije, ustanovi stepen digitalizacije promocije i predlože smernice za dalju upotrebu online promotivnih tehnika u Vrnjačkoj Banji i Sokobanji.

The Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) enables estimating the direct contribution of tourism consump... more The Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) enables estimating the direct contribution of tourism consumption to the national economy. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Statistical Office of the European Communities (Eurostat) have proposed the methodological framework for Tourism Satellite Account. The United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC) approved its use in March 2000. Conceptually, TSA is compliant with other statistical frameworks such as the System of National Accounts (SNA) and the Balance of Payments (BOP) and it links tourism statistics and the SNA standard tables. The main objective of the TSA is to provide a better understanding of the scope and value of the tourism industry in Serbia, based on the figures and data that can be compared at an international level and whose reliability is very high since they are based on the quality of the official national statistics.

A competitive Serbian rural economy requires a balance between agricultural production, other economic activities, environmental protection and social development. Rural development has focused on improving agricultural competitiveness consolidating land, improving market orientation, and developing economic infrastructure. Rural tourism is seen as one of the aspects of sustainable economic growth of the four rural areas in Serbia. The paper gives an evaluation of rural tourism development in Serbia through rural tourism product and rural tourism clusters prioritizing. Rural tourism is highlighted as one possible solution for the poor rural areas development. It is seen as an instrument for revitalization of the rural space and for the increasing of their attractiveness.
