It is basically like the spinal cord of a human being which is the most vital part for supporting all activities of the human body. If this spinal cord fails, entire operations of the organizations get disrupted and the organization will collapse. Therefore, importance is given in trying to make the supply chain as robust as possible. Supply chains may be different for different organizations. There are critical supply chains for which extreme care has to be taken while maintaining their time sensitivity factors and shelf life factors, for example, perishable products like foodstuffs. In this report, a critical supply chain is dealt with. The aim is to optimize the supply chain of radioisotopes which are used in hospitals and imaging centres for detection of cancer or cardiac diseases.

UAVs can collect large amounts of datasets and ease of use made these devices popular in many applications. On the basis of the detailed literature survey, various methods and models of UAV for road monitoring were studied. Lack of consideration of all distresses and inadequate data is the major research limitations. In this paper, a model for the preparation of an extensive collection of data and the classification of this data using semantic segmentation is proposed. The proposed model would efficiently help with huge data collection and the model designed will classify the distresses for maintenance and construction purposes. The model can be modified with neural networks or deep learning algorithms for accuracy and various frameworks can be used for improving speed and training time.

Data were collected from three types of industries: automotive, machine tools and electronics manufacturers in India. The grey-decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method was employed to explore the cause–effect relationship amongst barriers. Further, the barrier's influences were outranked and cross-validated through analytic network process (ANP).FindingsThe results showed that “lack of data storage facility”, “lack of IT infrastructure”, “lack of organisational strategy” and “uncertain about benefits and long terms usage” were most common barriers to adopt BDA practices in all three industries.Pract...

This study investigates the role of ‘Big Data Analytics’ (BDA) as a mediator between ‘sustainable supply chain business performance’ and key factors, namely, lean practices, social practices, environmental practices, organisational practices, supply chain practices, financial practices, and total quality management. A sample of 297 responses from thirty-seven Indian manufacturing firms was collected. The paper is beneficial for managers and practitioners to understand supply chain analytics, and it addresses challenges in the management of LARG practices to contribute to a sustainable supply chain.

These catalysts exhibit extremely high activity and selectivity in the aerobic oxidation of ethyl lactate to ethyl pyruvate. The excellent catalytic performance derives from the high surface-chemisorbed oxygen species. Low calcination temperature and interaction with g-C 3 N 4 are conducive to increasing the surface-chemisorbed oxygen species of V 2 O 5. The optimal catalyst 13V 2 O 5 /g-C 3 N 4 gives 96.2% conversion of ethyl lactate with 85.6% selectivity toward ethyl pyruvate in 4 h at 130°C and 1 atm oxygen, which is significantly superior to those of previously reported V-containing catalysts. This catalyst is also stable and reusable, and the ethyl pyruvate yield is reduced by less than 10% after four runs without any regeneration treatment.

However, it is observed that there is difficulty in convincing the students of Mechanical Engineering Program that the course of Database and Information Retrieval System is relevant to them. This paper focuses on the methodology adopted in order to reinforce the belief in the course of database and information retrieval system. It discusses about the objectives that were framed for the same. In order to attain the objectives, the students were trained to use Visual Basic for creating graphical user interface and SQL for making databases. The students were instructed to make applications related to mechanical engineering in groups of four. The feedbacks were taken from the students after the course. The qualitative analysis on the feedbacks from the students indicates that the students are able to create applications related to mechanical engineering. Validation was done using practical examination results of same batch of students. The performance of the students in the end semester practical exam also makes it evident that the students are comfortable in making User interface and database for any given application.
