Learning models of Number Head Together (NHT) is a learning model that is designed to influence t... more Learning models of Number Head Together (NHT) is a learning model that is designed to influence the pattern of student interaction, where the teacher gives a question by mentioning the number of students and the cooperation between students in small groups with the purpose to improve students academic mastery. The research aims to improve learning outcomes of biological subjects Photosynthesis through the application of learning models of Number Head Together (NHT) students grade VIII H at Junior High School 7 Samarinda in learning 2012/2013. This research is a class action that was implemented in three cycles each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data obtained through observation and test results to learn in each cycle. First cycle on the average biology student learning outcomes increased by 23,82% from baseline by 43,95 points to 54,42 with an average increase of 23,20 points. In the second cycle, the average value of the study of biology students increased by 3,84% of the value of the learning first cycle by 54,42 points to 56,51 with an average increase of 18,83 points. In third cycle, the results of biological studies of students increased by 1 9,25% of the value of the learning second cycle by 56,51 points to 67,39 with an average increase of 23,26 points. Based on these data it can be concluded that the learning models of Number Head Together (NHT) is able to improve the biological learning outcomes on the subject of Photosynthesis to the VIII H graders in state Junior High School 7 Samarinda in learning 2012/2013. Plant physiology is one of the subjects studying the metabolic processes in plants. Almost every ... more Plant physiology is one of the subjects studying the metabolic processes in plants. Almost every subject in this course is generally difficult for students to understand because it is abstract, so we need the right way to overcome it, one of the ways to do learning that demands student activity, which can be done through the guidance of student activity sheets. This research was conducted with the aim of reviewing the implementation of student activity sheets through the use of formulations extract of mantangan (Merremia peltata (L.) Merr.) as organic fertilizer to improve understanding of concept on plant physiology courses. The analysis was carried out descriptively by analyzing the students' understanding of material concepts according to the subject matter specified, namely the subject matter of soil and plant nutrients, as well as plant growth and development. Data collection was obtained through pretest and post-test instruments by looking at the results of students' understanding of concepts which were assessed based on the rubric of understanding concepts. The results showed that the implementation of student activity sheets through the use of formulations extract mantangan as organic fertilizer can improve students' understanding of concepts in plant physiology courses, specifically the subject of soil and plant nutrients, as well as plant growth and development of 26.9%.

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of cooperative learning model of jigsaw typ... more The purpose of this research is to know the influence of cooperative learning model of jigsaw type with flashcard media toward motivation and biology learning result of class XI students in SMAN 2 Loa Janan. This type of research is Quassy Experiment with non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design research where there are experimental class and control class which are each given pretest and posttest. The sample of this research are the students of class XI SMAN 2 Loa Janan that were both in experiment and control class are 28 people. Data analysis technique used independent samples t-test, paired t-test and manova test. Student learning motivation on applying cooperative learning model of jigsaw type and flashcard media is significantly different with conventional learning with significance value < α (0,000 < 0,05). Student learning outcomes on the application of cooperative learning model type jigsaw and flashcard media is significantly different from conventional learning with significance value < α (0,001 < 0,05). The application of cooperative learning model of jigsaw type and flashcard media has a significant effect on students' motivation and learning outcomes with a significance value of 0,000 (0,000 <0.05) which means very significant effect.

Conventional learning begins to be integrated with electronic learning or e-learning so that students can learn anytime and anywhere. The purpose of this study is to produce a learning media e-module based on flip bookmakers that is feasible and effective for use in biology subjects at Samarinda City Public High School. The research method follows the Borg and Gall development procedure with 4 main stages, namely 1) pre-development 2) initial development 3) development 4) application. The results showed that the flip book-based e-module media in biology in Samarinda City High School got an average score of 89.26%, included in the very valid category. Long beans are one of the horticultural plants which are cultivated. However, there was a decrease in production due to pest attacks. This research aimed to determine the effect of giving Saliara stem extract (Lantana amara L) and Takokak fruit extract (Solanum torvum) as a botanical pesticide for fixing pests and diseases on horticultural crops in Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara. This researchwas conducted for 3 months, starting from May to July 2020, and implemented in Samarinda. Research with Randomized Block Design (RDB), consisted of five treatments including control with five replications, T0 is the control, T1 is a mixture of water and detergent, T2 is the administration of Saliara stem extract (Lantana camara L.) with a concentration of 50%, T3 is the administration of takokak fruit extract (Solanumtorvum) with a concentration of 50% and T4 is the provision of a combination of extract and stem Saliara (Lantana camara) with 50% concentration of takokak (Solanumtorvum) fruit. Then data from observations and calculations are analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANAVA) and treatment tested with Least Significant Differences (LSD) at the 5% level. This study indicated a mixture of Saliara stem extract and Takokak fruit extract is a very significant effect in reducing pests in long bean plants with the most effective concentration of 50%.

Penelitian Quasy Experiment ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap minat belajar biologi siswa lintas minat yang melibatkan 66 siswa SMA di Tenggarong Seberang, Kalimantan Timur. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Analisis data peningkatan minat belajar siswa pada penerapan model pembelajaran ini diperoleh dari rerata N-Gain, sedangkan pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap minat belajar dilakukan melalui t-test untuk data yang berdistribusi normal dan uji Mann-Whitney U-test untuk data yang berdistribusi tidak normal. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh bahwa skor minat belajar biologi setelah proses pembelajaran pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol berbeda nyata (sig.(2-tailed)< 0,05). Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan minat belajar siswa dengan kategori rendah namun berbeda nyata (U-test = 257,0 < U-tabel= 818).
The advance in technology and communication currently has significantly influenced the developmen... more The advance in technology and communication currently has significantly influenced the development in the field of education, including the use of smartphones that can be adopted as a source of learning in schools. The current study was conducted to investigate the effect of smartphones on students ’ critical thinking skill in relation to the concept of biodiversity. The population of the study was all year-11 students of Senior High School 5 Samarinda, while the sample was the science-program class XI 2 (learning with Smartphone) and XI 3 (learning without smartphones) with 25 students for each class. The obtained data were analyzed with t test and the obtained value of tcalculation = 4.30 and ttabulation = 2.01. The result of the data analysis showed that the value of tcalculation> ttabulation at the significance level 0.05, so it is concluded that learning with smartphones has the effect on students ’ critical thinking skill in relation to the concept of biodiversity.

Goals of this analysis are to determine teacher’s understanding level related to learning tools that already exist, the appropriate application of learning models and problems of students. Sample observation in this analysis are science teachers of biology science subject at SMPN 35, SMPN 6 and SMPN 4 Samarinda. The results of observations showed 66.66% of teachers have problems in applying the learning model, all teachers said students prefer not to ask in learning. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai dengan bulan April 2013 di Samarinda. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan empat perlakuan dan enam ulangan, masing-masing perlakuan yaitu P0 (kontrol), P1 (150 ml), P2 (200 ml) dan P3 (250 ml). Parameter penelitian ini adalah tinggi batang dan jumlah daun pada saat tanaman berumur 1,2,3 minggu setelah tanam, serta berat basah polong pada saat tanaman berumur 10 minggu setelah tanam. This study aimed to determine the teachers' weakness and the obstacles they faced in the process of preparing and developing the learning materials. Penelitian Quasy Experiment ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap minat belajar biologi siswa lintas minat yang melibatkan 66 siswa SMA di Tenggarong Seberang, Kalimantan Timur. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Analisis data peningkatan minat belajar siswa pada penerapan model pembelajaran ini diperoleh dari rerata N-Gain, sedangkan pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap minat belajar dilakukan melalui t-test untuk data yang berdistribusi normal dan uji Mann-Whitney U-test untuk data yang berdistribusi tidak normal. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh bahwa skor minat belajar biologi setelah proses pembelajaran pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol berbeda nyata (sig.(2-tailed)< 0,05). Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan minat belajar siswa dengan kategori rendah namun berbeda nyata (U-test = 257,0 < U-tabel= 818).
The advance in technology and communication currently has significantly influenced the developmen... more The advance in technology and communication currently has significantly influenced the development in the field of education, including the use of smartphones that can be adopted as a source of learning in schools. The current study was conducted to investigate the effect of smartphones on students ’ critical thinking skill in relation to the concept of biodiversity. The population of the study was all year-11 students of Senior High School 5 Samarinda, while the sample was the science-program class XI 2 (learning with Smartphone) and XI 3 (learning without smartphones) with 25 students for each class. The obtained data were analyzed with t test and the obtained value of tcalculation = 4.30 and ttabulation = 2.01. The result of the data analysis showed that the value of tcalculation> ttabulation at the significance level 0.05, so it is concluded that learning with smartphones has the effect on students ’ critical thinking skill in relation to the concept of biodiversity.

Almost every subject in this course is generally difficult for students to understand because it is abstract, so we need the right way to overcome it, one of the ways to do learning that demands student activity, which can be done through the guidance of student activity sheets. This research was conducted with the aim of reviewing the implementation of student activity sheets through the use of formulations extract of mantangan (Merremia peltata (L.) Merr.) as organic fertilizer to improve understanding of concept on plant physiology courses. The analysis was carried out descriptively by analyzing the students' understanding of material concepts according to the subject matter specified, namely the subject matter of soil and plant nutrients, as well as plant growth and development. Data collection was obtained through pretest and post-test instruments by looking at the results of students' understanding of concepts which were assessed based on the rubric of understanding concepts. The results showed that the implementation of student activity sheets through the use of formulations extract mantangan as organic fertilizer can improve students' understanding of concepts in plant physiology courses, specifically the subject of soil and plant nutrients, as well as plant growth and development of 26.9%.

Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai dengan bulan April 2013 di Samarinda. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan empat perlakuan dan enam ulangan, masing-masing perlakuan yaitu P0 (kontrol), P1 (150 ml), P2 (200 ml) dan P3 (250 ml). Parameter penelitian ini adalah tinggi batang dan jumlah daun pada saat tanaman berumur 1,2,3 minggu setelah tanam, serta berat basah polong pada saat tanaman berumur 10 minggu setelah tanam. This study aimed to determine the teachers' weakness and the obstacles they faced in the process of preparing and developing the learning materials.
