Introduction – Intraocular phakic lens implantation surgery has been progressively preferred to l... more Introduction – Intraocular phakic lens implantation surgery has been progressively preferred to laser surgery in the treatment of high myopia. Visual acuity (AV) pre and post refractive implant surgery has been compared, showing that this method is more effective in the improvement of the vision in high myopia. Methods – Seventy eyes belonging to 41 patients with high myopia were analyzed retrospectively. The age of the patients ranged from 20 to 50 years and they all had refractive implant surgery between 2009 and 2012. Results – One day post surgery, 42.86% of the sample had an improvement in visual acuity, 34.29% remained unchanged and 22.85% worsened. A generalized increase in the quality of vision was observed after 30 days. 64.29% scored 10/10 in visual acuity, 24.29% scored between 7/10 and 9/10, and 11.42% between 4/10 and 6/10. Conclusion – The effectiveness of this surgical technique was proved, showing an improvement in visual acuity in 52.86% of the sample

Our assumptions based on the belief that such constructs give account of these peculiarities, powering the know-how to be an act in coexistence. We demonstrate this perspective, in this text, by describing the operation of the Group of Actions and Investigations Autopoieticas - GAIA, making us as subjects of the search actions, as observers involved in the act even to observe, what binds this study to the autopoieticas and metacognitive approaches. O processo de ensino-aprendizagem da matemática tem se traduzido como um dos maiores desafios par... more O processo de ensino-aprendizagem da matemática tem se traduzido como um dos maiores desafios para educadores brasileiros de todos os níveis da educação escolarizada. Lacunas de aprendizagem se tornam mais evidentes no ensino superior, que exige do aluno cada vez mais poder de síntese e abstração frente aos problemas cotidianos. Partindo deste contexto, o presente texto é um relato de uma experiência realizada no âmbito da disciplina "Cálculo Diferencial e Integral" para cursos de graduação selecionados em uma universidade federal, entre 2017 e 2018. Resultante de projeto interdisciplinar entre as áreas de Matemática e Comunicação, a experiência contou com a produção de audiovisuais e também com a adaptação de estratégias didáticas com o respaldo teórico-metodológico dos Estilos de Aprendizagem. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que as ações desenvolvidas apresentaram importantes contribuições no âmbito da educação matemática.
Esta pesquisa apresenta um levantamento de praticantes de Danças Urbanas que cursem ou tenham cur... more Esta pesquisa apresenta um levantamento de praticantes de Danças Urbanas que cursem ou tenham cursado Graduações em Dança no Brasil de 2007 a 2017. A partir do método de pesquisa mista com coleta de dados e estratégia de modo concomitante foi possível obter dados que são analisados de modo quantitativo e qualitativo. A coleta de dados se deu por meio de questionário composto por 25 questões dissertativas e de múltipla escolha, cuja aplicação obteve 104 respostas, das quais 95 foram consideradas válidas. A perspectiva teórica escolhida para análise e interpretação dos dados foi o conceito de campo abordado pelo sociólogo Pierre Bourdieu. O objetivo deste trabalho é observar de que maneira a graduação em Dança pode ser um espaço de formação para praticantes de Danças Urbanas a partir da perspectiva dos estudantes. O levantamento mapeou praticantes nas 5 regiões do Brasil, em 14 estados, e em 25 das 35 instituições que possuem graduações em Dança no Brasil. Foi possível observar que o número de ingressantes e egressos cresceu no decorrer dos anos e que a graduação em Dança pode contribuir de diversas maneiras na formação de praticantes de Danças Urbanas. Além disso, foi possível apontar possíveis alterações no campo emergente de Danças Urbanas, principalmente a partir do aumento do capital simbólico dos agentes ao se graduarem em Dança.

Este estudo apresenta e analisa quatro encontros que constituíram uma experiência de formação cuj... more Este estudo apresenta e analisa quatro encontros que constituíram uma experiência de formação cujo foco foi o desenvolvimento de narrativas digitais por professores de ciências de uma escola da rede particular do sul do estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Essa experiência formativa de produção de narrativas digitais foi organizada com o propósito de promover a reflexão dos docentes sobre o uso pedagógico das tecnologias digitais de informação e comunicação (TDICs), tendo como ponto de partida a pergunta: “Tenho um tablet. E agora?”. A análise dos encontros desse processo formativo permitiu identificar a narrativa digital como um elementomotivador e promotor de reflexão na formação de professores, pois os docentes tiveram a oportunidadede compartilhar suas práticas com tecnologias, refletir sobre elas e, por vezes, alterá-las. The validity of health perception construct has increased over time; people assess better their h... more The validity of health perception construct has increased over time; people assess better their health status due to an increased level of education. Different instruments have been developed to assess this dimension of health. This study aims to validate for the Portuguese adult population of the Health Perception Questionnaire due to the inexistence in the Portuguese context of a validated instrument that assess health perception. It is a self-report instrument that evaluates health perception in three moments-past, present and future, resistance and attitudes towards the disease.1,139 subjects from the general population, aged between 18 and 79 years and mostly women, participated. Exploratory and confi rmatory factorial analyzes were carried out. A second order model was found, where health perception is defi ned around two factors-current health (seven items) and previous health (two items). The experience of serious or signifi cant illness, as well as well-being and health, are assumed as key elements in the individual construction of the previous and current health perception respectively.

to understand the perception of drug users about "being a family" in the context of the... more to understand the perception of drug users about "being a family" in the context of their psychosocial rehabilitation. based on the theoretical-philosophical reference of Maurice Merleau-Ponty. It was carried out with eleven users of the Center for Psychosocial Care Alcohol and other Drugs (CAPS AD) in a municipality in the South of Bahia, Brazil, through the Focal Group, in August 2015. The resulting material was submitted to the Ambiguity Analytical Technique. the readings of the descriptions allowed the definition of the thematic category: Nuances of being family: materialist and existential view. the results of the study converged to the understanding that the user of alcohol and other drugs recognizes the "being a family" from two dimensions: a more materialistic, and an existentialist, which need to be considered in the process of psychosocial rehabilitation of this user.

Por vezes, ela afirma a sua própria invisibilidade ao percorrer os espaços vazios de uma casa durante o tempo de duração do vídeo, sem nunca estourar. Este texto parte da obra de Cao e Rivane para refletir sobre questões como a ideia de vazio e ausência, tecendo breves paralelos com o teórico Michel de Certeau em A invenção do cotidiano. A necessidade de ter o espaço circunscrito por algo tão frágil e delicado como é a natureza da própria bolha dialoga com a ideia de uma presença constante de algo que nunca se concretizacompletamente, é da ordem de uma ausência ou de um esquecimento. Como se houvesse uma apropriação do lugar em si feita pela própria bolha, constitui-se como uma lembrança que insiste em retornar assumindo o lugar de uma falta que parece estar sempre ali presente entre um cômodo e outro e por todo o tempo de duração do vídeo.

It has already been demonstrated that these two diseases are associated since individuals suffering from DM are prone to develop AD. Conversely, it is also known that individuals with AD are more susceptible to DM, namely type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Therefore, these two pathologies, although completely different in terms of symptomatology, end up sharing several mechanisms at the molecular level, being the most obvious the increase of oxidative stress and inflammation. Polyphenols are natural compounds widely spread in fruits and vegetables whose dietary intake has been considered inversely proportional to the incidence of DM and AD. Phenomenological study based on Maurice Merleau-Ponyt, conducted with 14 students of a school in Bahia, Brazil, through the Focus Group, in the months of April to June of 2013. The reports have been analyzed based on the Ambiguity Analytics technique. They have been presented in the form of three categories: common sense and scientific knowledge occupy opposite locus; drug addicts; the good and evil of legal and illegal drugs. The students' perception of drugs intertwined with scientific knowledge and at the same time placing it at the center of the phenomenon, separating the lawful as good and illicit as bad, which points to the need for socio-educational measures among educators, students and family members, aimed at the decentralization of the drug place in the context in which the phenomenon happens so that we understand the complexity involved in the theme.

To analyze which abnormalities in body composition (obesity, sarcopenia or sarcopenic obesity) ar... more To analyze which abnormalities in body composition (obesity, sarcopenia or sarcopenic obesity) are related to reduced mobility in older people aged 80 years and older. The sample included 116 subjects aged 80 years and older. The body composition was measured using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) and mobility was assessed by motor tests. The χ2 test was used to analyze the proportion of older people with sarcopenia, obesity and sarcopenic obesity based on sex as well as to indicate an association between obesity, sarcopenia, sarcopenic obesity and mobility. Binary logistic regression, adjusted for the variables (sex and osteoarticular diseases), was used to express the magnitude of these associations. One-way analysis of variance was used to compare the mobility of four groups (Normal, Obesity, Sarcopenia and Sarcopenic Obesity). This qualitative clinical study investigated the impact of moderate intellectual disability on fa... more This qualitative clinical study investigated the impact of moderate intellectual disability on family dynamics and quality of life. The data were collected using individual interviews with 15 mothers of children with intellectual disabilities, as a convenience sample, and examined with categorical thematic content analysis. The results were discussed using a comprehensive and interpretative approach. Analysis of the interviews showed that care for children with intellectual disabilities is centered on the mother, contributing to the change in family relations. Religious coping appeared as a common strategy for adjusting. Children with intellectual disabilities had less access to services and support than they needed in the areas of health, education, and leisure. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was utilized to assess 128 subjects aged between 80 and 95 years. Body composition and bone mineral density were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. Gait speed was assessment by walking test. The statistical analyses included Spearman's correlation, one-way analysis of variance, the chi-squared test, and binary logistic regression analysis.

To understand the perception of users of a Psychosocial Care Center about care in the context of ... more To understand the perception of users of a Psychosocial Care Center about care in the context of drug use. Study based on the Phenomenology of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, developed in the Center for Psychosocial Care Alcohol and Other Drugs. The data has been submitted to the Analytical Technique of Ambiguity. The drug use sometimes provides the consumer with pleasurable feelings, sometimes contributing to the occurrence of biopsychosocial harm and/or new possibilities for relationship with the drug. The drug use is an ambiguous process, which corresponds to the perception of different care profiles in the relationship between the consumer and the drug. It is up to the health professionals to recognize the diverse possibilities of care and to favor the construction of therapeutic projects based on listening and respecting the needs of drug users.

Given the great complexity of underground systems, which may originate from roots, stems, or both, morpho-anatomical analyses are essential to ensure the use of correct terminology. The goals of this study were to describe the morpho-anatomy and ontogeny, investigate the occurrence of secondary metabolites and evaluate the effects of seasonality on the underground system of Chrysolaena simplex (Less.) Dematt. Samples were studied using standard protocols of plant anatomy, scanning electron microscopy, histochemical and phytochemical. The underground system of C. simplex was categorised as a rhizophore which started from cotyledonary node. In adult individuals, with rhizophores completely developed, the primary roots degenerated and adventitious radicular systems are formed. Por vezes, ela afirma a sua própria invisibilidade ao percorrer os espaços vazios de uma casa durante o tempo de duração do vídeo, sem nunca estourar. Este texto parte da obra de Cao e Rivane para refletir sobre questões como a ideia de vazio e ausência, tecendo breves paralelos com o teórico Michel de Certeau em A invenção do cotidiano. A necessidade de ter o espaço circunscrito por algo tão frágil e delicado como é a natureza da própria bolha dialoga com a ideia de uma presença constante de algo que nunca se concretizacompletamente, é da ordem de uma ausência ou de um esquecimento. Como se houvesse uma apropriação do lugar em si feita pela própria bolha, constitui-se como uma lembrança que insiste em retornar assumindo o lugar de uma falta que parece estar sempre ali presente entre um cômodo e outro e por todo o tempo de duração do vídeo.

It has already been demonstrated that these two diseases are associated since individuals suffering from DM are prone to develop AD. Conversely, it is also known that individuals with AD are more susceptible to DM, namely type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Therefore, these two pathologies, although completely different in terms of symptomatology, end up sharing several mechanisms at the molecular level, being the most obvious the increase of oxidative stress and inflammation. Polyphenols are natural compounds widely spread in fruits and vegetables whose dietary intake has been considered inversely proportional to the incidence of DM and AD. Phenomenological study based on Maurice Merleau-Ponyt, conducted with 14 students of a school in Bahia, Brazil, through the Focus Group, in the months of April to June of 2013. The reports have been analyzed based on the Ambiguity Analytics technique. They have been presented in the form of three categories: common sense and scientific knowledge occupy opposite locus; drug addicts; the good and evil of legal and illegal drugs. The students' perception of drugs intertwined with scientific knowledge and at the same time placing it at the center of the phenomenon, separating the lawful as good and illicit as bad, which points to the need for socio-educational measures among educators, students and family members, aimed at the decentralization of the drug place in the context in which the phenomenon happens so that we understand the complexity involved in the theme.

The sample included 116 subjects aged 80 years and older. The body composition was measured using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) and mobility was assessed by motor tests. The χ2 test was used to analyze the proportion of older people with sarcopenia, obesity and sarcopenic obesity based on sex as well as to indicate an association between obesity, sarcopenia, sarcopenic obesity and mobility. Binary logistic regression, adjusted for the variables (sex and osteoarticular diseases), was used to express the magnitude of these associations. One-way analysis of variance was used to compare the mobility of four groups (Normal, Obesity, Sarcopenia and Sarcopenic Obesity). The data were collected using individual interviews with 15 mothers of children with intellectual disabilities, as a convenience sample, and examined with categorical thematic content analysis. The results were discussed using a comprehensive and interpretative approach. Analysis of the interviews showed that care for children with intellectual disabilities is centered on the mother, contributing to the change in family relations. Religious coping appeared as a common strategy for adjusting. Children with intellectual disabilities had less access to services and support than they needed in the areas of health, education, and leisure. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was utilized to assess 128 subjects aged between 80 and 95 years. Body composition and bone mineral density were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. Gait speed was assessment by walking test. The statistical analyses included Spearman's correlation, one-way analysis of variance, the chi-squared test, and binary logistic regression analysis.

Study based on the Phenomenology of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, developed in the Center for Psychosocial Care Alcohol and Other Drugs. The data has been submitted to the Analytical Technique of Ambiguity. The drug use sometimes provides the consumer with pleasurable feelings, sometimes contributing to the occurrence of biopsychosocial harm and/or new possibilities for relationship with the drug. The drug use is an ambiguous process, which corresponds to the perception of different care profiles in the relationship between the consumer and the drug. It is up to the health professionals to recognize the diverse possibilities of care and to favor the construction of therapeutic projects based on listening and respecting the needs of drug users.

Given the great complexity of underground systems, which may originate from roots, stems, or both, morpho-anatomical analyses are essential to ensure the use of correct terminology. The goals of this study were to describe the morpho-anatomy and ontogeny, investigate the occurrence of secondary metabolites and evaluate the effects of seasonality on the underground system of Chrysolaena simplex (Less.) Dematt. Samples were studied using standard protocols of plant anatomy, scanning electron microscopy, histochemical and phytochemical. The underground system of C. simplex was categorised as a rhizophore which started from cotyledonary node. In adult individuals, with rhizophores completely developed, the primary roots degenerated and adventitious radicular systems are formed.
