The most typical presentation is swelling under the tongue. The mylohyoid muscle may allow it to herniate, Causing a plunging ranula. Ranula can be treated in many ways, including ranula excision alone, excision of the sublingual gland with or without ranula, aspiration of cystic fluid, sclerotherapy, marsupialization, incision and drainage. Material and methods: This case study includes six patients with ranula who underwent surgical treatment by marsupialization. The indications, age and sex distribution, Marsupialization methods, pathology reports, recurrence rates, and complications were seen. Results: Out of 6 patients in our case series, no one patient has shown to be any recurrence or complications of marsupialization. Conclusions: Management of Ranula by Marsupialization is a good option, but if it recurs after marsupialization, Excision of the lesion and the affected gland is the best course of action.

Effect of location of fracture line and surgically visible nerve entrapment in recovery of infraorbital nerve following zygomatico-maxillary complex fracture-A prospective study. Abstract Background: In zygomatico-maxillary complex fracture infraorbital nerve is commonly affected due to its course in infraorbital canal and vacation at infraorbital foramen. This may result in temporary or permanent neurosensory deficiency resulting in feeling of numbness, or loss of few sensations in upper lip, lateral wall of nose and lower eyelid. The aim of this study was to find out post traumatic pre-operative incidence of infraorbital nerve, its post operative recovery, and its association with location of fracture line, visible nerve entrapment. Material and method A prospective study was performed on 88 patients with isolated, unilateral, displaced zygomatico-maxillary complex fracture requiring open reduction. Patients with the age ra...

Association with tobacco and alcohol is well established. Transformation rates in premalignant lesions and conditions vary in the available literature. Oral cancer in other parts of the world has different etiology in contrast to Indian oral cancer. Because of this Indian OSCC may require different parameters for treatment than that of the other oral cancer. Its prognosis also may not be comparable to others.

Pathogenesis of the syndrome is attributed to abnormalities in the long arm of chromosome 9 (q22.3-q31) and loss or mutations of human patched gene (PTCH1 gene). Diagnosis is based upon established major and minor clinical and radiological criteria and ideally confirmed by deoxyribo nucleic acid analysis. We report a case of a 9-year-old girl presenting with three major and one minor feature of Gorlin-Goltz syndrome. Radiologic findings of the syndrome are easily identifiable on Orthopantomogram, chest X-ray, and Computed tomography scans. These investigations prompt an early verification of the disease, which is very important to prevent recurrence and better survival rates from the coexistent diseases.
