The application provides a user-friendly interface for users to perform various operations on PDF documents, such as splitting, merging, extracting, rotating, and deleting pages. Depending on the user's needs, the user can perform these operations on every page, even pages, odd pages, random specific pages, all pages after some nth page, and between some specific ranges. The application is designed to be user-friendly and simple to use, allowing users to complete tasks quickly and easily. Nowadays, most universities and schools provide their students with all of their course materials online, therefore many students access these resources via PDF files. Since this application operates without an internet connection and is therefore advantageous to all users, Using the PyPDF2 library for PDFs, the Python graphics package Tkinter is used to develop the graphical user interface and UI library CustomTkinter which provides fresh, modern, and completely customizable widgets. Many students upload their files to the internet in order to use these tools, but our offline GUI application provides all of these tools for free. It also includes PDF encryption, decryption, and file conversion tools. These tools are simple to use and can help users save time and effort.

Since data stora ge is a limited resource, how to reduce the data space in the process becomes a challenge issue. Data compression provides a good solution which can lower the required space. Data mining has many useful applications in recent years because it can help users discover interesting knowledge in large databases. However, existing compression algorithms are not appropriate for data mining. In this research a new approach called Mining Merged Transactions with the Quantification Table was proposed to solve these p roblems. Mining Merged Transactions with the Quantification Table uses the relationship of transactions to merge related transactions and builds a quantification table to prune the candidate item sets which are impossible to become frequent in order to imp rove the performance of mining association rules. This work presents a weighted-sum multi-objective index-based technique for optimal placement and an analytical approach is utilized to size different types of DG optimally. The constant power type load model is considered for the present formulation. The DG taken for the analysis purpose is: Type I and Type IV. The power flow results of the network are calculated by formulating BR matrix. The efficiency of the projected method is verified and authenticated using the 12-node network. The noteworthy reduction in the network power losses with upgraded voltage profile and remarkable annual energy loss saving is observed with Type IV DG over Type I DG.

This chapter presents a fast fractal image compression technique via domain kick-out method, based on averaging of domain images to discard redundant domain images. It accelerates the encoding process by reducing the size of the domain pool. Results of a simulation on the proposed speedup technique on three standard test images shows that performance of the proposed technique is far superior to the present kick out methods of fractal image compression. It has reported a speedup ratio of 31.07 in average while resulting into compression ratio and retrieved image quality comparable to Jacquin’s full search method.

A variety of chemical, physical and structural changes are revealed with superior properties in nanohybrid. In addition, radiation resistant nature of the polymer has been discussed with improved properties including formation of nanopores and high proton conductivity of the functionalized nanopores having sufficient mechanical strength which are essential requirements for any fuel cell membrane. Membrane electrode assembly has been demonstrated having very good power density and the developed membrane has the potential to replace the expensive Nafion as standard membrane currently being used in fuel cell membrane. Further, nanoclay induced piezoelectricity in polymer matrix is attractive for the fabrication of a smart membrane using swift heavy ions.

So, the workload in cloud environment is usually dynamic. At cloud data centers, different virtual machines (VMs) Provisioning techniques cause different CPU utilization. Therefore, VM Provisioning on PMs to improve resource utilization and reduce energy consumption is one of the major concerns for cloud providers. The problem of VM Provisioning includes queuing of VM requests, placing the VMs on hosts, and the optimization of the current VM allocation using Live Migration. The existing VM provisioning schemes are to optimize physical server and network resources utilization, but many of them also focus on optimizing multiple resources utilization simultaneously. The setting up of utilization thresholds for resources is one of the common optimization techniques. The ultimate aim of Cloud providers is to optimize resource usage and reduce energy consumption with the obligation of providing high Quality of Service (QoS) to customers, while maintaining the Service Level Agreements (SLAs). We surveyed various Live Virtual Machine Provisioning techniques and presented the comparison among few benchmark techniques based on adaptive utilization thresholds, as contribution to Green Cloud computing solutions. A performance evaluation study and comparison is done using the CloudSim toolkit.

Generally association rule mining approaches are used as bottom-up or top-down approach on compressed data structure. In the past, different works proposed different approaches to mine frequent patterns from giving databases. In this paper, we propose a new approach by applying the closed & intersection approach using compressed data structure. We have used closed as bottom-up and intersection as top-down approach. This combined approach allows diminishing the search time by reducing database scan for finding out closed frequent patterns and their association rules. The time complexity of the proposed algorithm is less while the classical approach like a priori has taken more time for given items in the dataset. Experimental results show that our approach is more efficient and effective than a traditional apriori algorithm.

Research paper thumbnail of Silicon carbide-induced piezoelectric β-phase in poly(vinylidene fluoride) and its properties

Various measurements were conducted to analyze the effect of SiC addition on structural, mechanical, and dielectric properties, as also the properties affecting hydrophilicity and morphology of PVDF. The x-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic and differential scanning calorimetry analyses confirm the presence of b-phase of PVDF on addition of SiC. The Young's modulus of the composites increases as compared with pristine PVDF. The hydrophilic nature of the composites improves with increasing SiC content. Dielectric constant increases in composites, especially at lower frequency range and the relaxation pattern in the crystalline phase changes significantly causing reduction of relaxation frequency with increasing SiC concentration.

Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) has been made radiation-resistant through a nanocomposite (NC) r... more Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) has been made radiation-resistant through a nanocomposite (NC) route. The bombardment of high-energy swift heavy ions (SHI) on PVDF and its NCs with layered silicate has been studied in a range of fluences. The degradation of PVDF after SHI irradiation is suppressed radically in NCs. PVDF forms an intercalated nanostructure in the presence of nanoclay and, further, the ion fluence raises the extent of intercalation. The crystallinity and the heat of fusion of pristine PVDF have drastically been reduced after SHI irradiation, while there are relatively small changes in NCs even at higher fluences. The metastable piezoelectric beta form of PVDF gets stabilized by the presence of layered silicate, and the structure is retained upon SHI irradiation. The clay platelets act as nucleating agents, and SHI irradiation causes two crystallization temperatures for the samples exposed to high fluences. The damages created on the surface and bulk of PVDF and its NC films upon SHI irradiation have been measured quantitatively by using atomic force microscopy. The pitting dimensions and degradation are enhanced significantly beyond 10(11) ions/cm(2) fluence for pristine PVDF, which limits the use of PVDF for any ion irradiation application. The degradation is considerably suppressed in NCs, providing a suitable high-energy radiation-resistant thermoplastic polymer.
