True benefits of laparoscopy are well established but there are certain disadvantages also which are the cause of fear and thus lesser acceptance of laparoscopy for radical cholecystectomy for t1b or more advanced gall bladder cancers. Discussion gall bladder lacks submucosal layer and has very thin proper muscle layer leading to rapid invasion of nearby structures and metastasis causing advanced disease on detection and hence poor survival. Latest evidence suggests similar survival if we compare open and laparoscopic approach making it evident that type of surgery do not reflect survival. Latest studies on better instrumentation and technical advances are showing similar survival in both groups, making laparoscopy nowadays as the standard of care. Liver resection and lymphadenectomy are the two tech...

GLOBAL JOURNAL FOR RESEARCH ANALYSIS, 2020

It is one of the most serious global risk factor for illness and death. Malnutrition during children has an impact later in life as it is associated with significant functional impairment, reduced work capacity and decreased economic productivity. Malnourished children are more likely to suffer from delayed psychological development, poor school performance and lower intellectual achievements. Aim: Effectiveness of Teaching Programme on Malnutrition and its Prevention in under-five children. Methods: Fifty children for the were enrolled through simple randomization method in this study. Results: After administration of teaching program, 92% subjects had adequate knowledge and 8% had moderate knowledge. None of the subjects had inadequate level of knowledge showing effectiveness of teaching program. Post-test overall knowledge score was significantly higher in comparison to pre-test ove...

Research paper thumbnail of Anatomic variations in the course of the hypoglossal nerve: A case report

Journal of the Anatomical Society of India, 2018

To achieve a successful surgical anatomy a detailed knowledge of regional anatomy and anatomical ... more To achieve a successful surgical anatomy a detailed knowledge of regional anatomy and anatomical variations is an important fundamental. The extra cranial hypoglossal nerve has a well described course as it traverses the neck, and is frequently identified during neck dissection. This serves a guide to the surgeon of such atypical variations in anatomy to avoid injury to important structures during dissection. We are presenting a case report which demonstrates the extra cranial variation of Hypoglossal nerve.

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed and patient was discharged on 2 post operative day without any complications. Histopathology and Immunohistochemistry revealed pyloric gland adenoma with squamoid morules.Gall bladder polyps are seen in 5% of the adult population around the world but rarely seen in children. Polyps have the potential to convert into malignancy and hence early diagnosis and differentiation is necessary. Most of the patients with gall bladder adenomas are adult females. Majority of the adenomas (91%) are single. Squamoid morules was found in 28% and columnar oxyphil cells in 2% of these adenomas. High-grade dysplasia/carcinoma in situ was seen in 27% of them and low-grade dysplasia in 15%. However, only 1% invasive adenocarcinomas were diagnosed in pyloric gland adenomas, both of which were intestinal type. For symptomati...
