Students need to have entrepreneurial skills, so that apart from having the ability in the field ... more Students need to have entrepreneurial skills, so that apart from having the ability in the field of science, they also have the ability to be competitive in entrepreneurship. So far, salak processed products at Agro Abian Salak have problems regarding product marketing. This service aims to enhance the entrepreneurial spirit of Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar alumni and students through product creation, product production, and product marketing of Sibetan salak items. Students are formed in groups and trained from the production process to marketing. The method in this activity uses the Participatory Action Learning System (PALS) approach. In the process of activities carried out online and offline. The target audience in this program is to involve 20 prospective entrepreneurs. According to the program's findings, tenants are already motivated and knowledgeable about entrepreneurship, as evidenced by their dedication to operating a business and their labeling, marketing, and sales efforts. This program has given tenants start-up funding for their businesses, enabling them to grow into young entrepreneurs. Participants have had the opportunity to create product labeling and packaging, as well as advertise it on social media, at booths, and in online shops. The three phases of the coaching process that the participants underwent were entrepreneurial awareness, capacity building and mentorship, and institutionalization and cooperation. To support MSME actors' business growth and advancement, Agro Abian Salak has received assistance in the process of promoting and selling its products.

Hyperlipidemia is a major risk factor for CVD that can be controlled through medical therapy, appropriate nutrition, and lifestyle. This study aimed to identify the cang salak tea diet’s effect on the ApoC3 gene expression in a hyperlipidemia rat. 18 male Wistar rats were divided equally into three groups. A high-fat-diet-induced two groups of rats, and one group was the control. Once hyperlipidemia had been achieved, one of the two groups was treated with the cang salak tea, and one group was given a standard diet for four weeks. Authenticated rat and liver tissue were collected as a source of RNA isolation. Isolated RNA was used as a reaction template for the relative quantitation qPCR using β-actin as the housekeeping gene. This tea is expected to be useful for diseases associated with dyslipidemia. The purpose of this study was to examine the secondary metabolites in CST and to determine the effect of CST treatment on the lipid profile of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), HDL, and LDL level. Wistar rats were divided into three groups: control group (K), hyperlipidemic rats group given CST (P1), and hyperlipidemic rat group without CST treatment. Group P1 was given CST as much as 1.2 mL per day for 4 weeks. CST contains alkaloid, flavanoid, tannin, phenol, and saponine. Bakteri asam laktat mampu menghasilkan zat antimikroba yang dapat dikembangkan untuk mengobati kasus infeksi oleh bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dapat menyebabkan infeksi mulai dari keracunan makanan, infeksi kulit hingga infeksi sistemik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan menguji aktivitas antimikroba bakteri asam laktat dari blondo terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif cross-sectional. Sampel blondo diambil dari kelompok wanita tani di Tabanan yang berjumlah 16 sampel dengan pengambilan sampel secara simple random sampling. Bakteri diisolasi menggunakan media selektif yaitu agar de Man Rogosa and Sharpe (MRS) dan identifikasi dengan uji pewarnaan gram, uji katalase dan uji produksi gas dari glukosa. Uji aktivitas antimikroba bakteri asam laktat dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode difusi sumuran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa di dalam sampel blondo terdapat bakteri asam laktat dari genus Lactobacillus dan Streptococcus. Bakteri asam laktat yang diisolasi dari blondo VCO mampu menghambat Staphylococcus aureus dengan terbentuknya zona hambat berupa zona bening dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat 11,02 mm. Zona hambat yang terbentuk termasuk dalam kategori sedang dan kuat, dengan zona hambat tertinggi yang dihasilkan yaitu 20,8 mm dan terendah yaitu 9,2 mm. Bakteri asam laktat dari blondo memiliki aktivitas antimikroba terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.

MCT is stable at very low and high temperatures, and the color does not turn black due to the addition of heat so that it can be developed into beneficial cooking oil for health. Therefore, a study was conducted on the content of fatty acids in VCO after being heated at temperatures of 150, 200, and 250°C for 60 minutes. Analysis of fatty acid content in control VCO(T0), VCO with heating temperatures of 150oC(T1), 200oC(T2), and 250oC(T3) was performed with GCMS QP-2010 Ultra.The results showed that there were differences in levels and types of fatty acids in VCO by treating T0, T1, T2, and T3. At these three temperatures still produce medium-chain saturated fatty acids and trans fatty acids are not produced, so that VCO can be utilized as cooking oil that has better stability and benefits for health.

On the other hand natural compound is necessary to be used as anti-diabetic and anticancer. This study is aimed at analyzing active content of salacca vinegar, to know its potential in healthcare such as for anti-diabetic and anti-cancer. This is a descriptive research by analyzing the active content in laboratory. The result of this research shows that salacca vinegar of Sibetan village contain high levels of acid as vinegar with total of 6.68%; total of phenols is 27.47 mg / 100ml GAE, total of tannins is 71.69 mg / 100ml TAE, flavonoid content is 26.51 mg / 100mi QE, antioxidant capacity is 70.21 mg / L GAEAC, IC 50 is 103.09 mg / ml, vitamin C is 4.6547 mg / 100g. The content of chemicals such as acetic acid, tannins, antioxidants, and flavonoids are potential as anti-diabetic and anticancer, because it serves in lowering blood sugar levels, free radical scavenger, helps in curing damaged pancreatic beta cells, keep the cells from oxidation and protect cells from cancer through five mechanisms. For further research, research in vitro and in vivo of salacca vinegar as an anti-diabetic and anticancer is needed.

Since the adverse effect of nitrites to the human health has been reported, the government regulated maximum allowable nitrite content in meat product is 125 mg/kg. Hence, continuous monitoring of the existence of nitrite, especially in the meat products are important to conducted. Quantitative analysis of nitrite in the meat product, especially sausage has been described. The spectrophotometric measurement of the nitrite contents was conducted by using Griess method. The absorbance of both standard solution and sample carried after 30 minutes at the maximum wavelength 520 nm. Resistensi C. albicans terhadap berbagai agen anti fungi juga dilaporkan mengalami peningkatan. Pengembangan obat yang berbasis bahan alam dan dapat bertindak sebagai anti fungi terhadap C. albicans perlu terus dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya hambat VCO terhadap pertumbuhan C. albicans yang diisolasi dari swab vagina. Isolasi dilakukan dengan metode kultur, identifikasi mikroskopis, dan uji biokimia. Uji daya hambat VCO terhadap C. albicans isolat vagina dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram. Jamur C. albicans berhasil diisolasi dari swab vagina dengan ciri-ciri koloni yeast, membentuk blastospora, pseudohifa, klamidopora, dan germ tube. Salak skin waste samples were taken at the salak center in Sibetan Village and secang wood obtained in Tenganan Village, Karangasem. Antioxidant capacity testing was carried out in the Laboratory Service Unit of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology at UNUD, and phytochemical tests at the Health Polytechnic Department of Denpasar. Abstrak KWT BaliCocos merupakan kelompok wanita tani di Desa Tengkudak yang memiliki potensi laha... more Abstrak KWT BaliCocos merupakan kelompok wanita tani di Desa Tengkudak yang memiliki potensi lahan kelapa yang luas. Namun, tingkat perekonomiannya masih belum mengalami peningkatan dari hasil kelapanya. Hal ini karena kelapa yang dihasilkan belum diolah menjadi produk bernilai ekonomis, sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian dan pembinaan produksi VCO. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hasil produksi VCO kelompok wanita tani dan melakukan pembinaan dalam mengembangkan diversifikasi produknya, sehingga memiliki daya saing dalam pemasaran. Penelitian dilakukan melalui dua tahap yaitu (1) produksi dan analisis VCO, (2) pengembangan diversifikasi produk dan strategi pemasaran. Teknik pembuatan VCO dilakukan dengan cara basah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan VCO yang dihasilkan memiliki bau khas kelapa segar, tidak tengik, rasa normal khas minyak kelapa, tidak berwarna, mengandung asam kaproat 0,287%; asam kaprilat 6,115%; asam kaprat 5,832%; asam laurat 48,73%; asam miristat 18,505%; asam palmitat 8,754%; asam stearat 2,606%; asam oleat 10,476%; asam linoleat 0,060%, asam linolenat 0,062%, serta tidak mengandung cemaran mikroba. Hasil ini menunjukkan kesesuaian dengan SNI 7381:2008 sehingga sangat berpotensi dikembangkan produksi dan pemasarannya. Pengembangan produk yang telah dilakukan yaitu produksi VCO original dan aromaterapi. Pemasaran dilakukan melalui toko, apotik, spa, pameran, reseller, dan jejaring media sosial. Produk VCO sangat bermanfaat untuk pangan, kesehatan/pengobatan, dan kosmetik sehingga memiliki potensi pasar yang sangat tinggi.

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas larvasida daun mimba terhadap larva lalat Sarchopaga pada daging yang digunakan sebagai sarana upakara di Bali. Kelompok perlakuan ini yaitu penggunaan daun mimba 25% sebagai larvasida, kelompok kontrol positif yaitu penggunaan minuman bersoda, dan kelompok kontrol negatif yaitu tidak mendapat perlakuan. Hasil uji Kruskal Wallis diperoleh hasil nilai probabilitas p (0,000) < α (0,05) yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan jumlah kematian larva pada perlakuan rebusan daun mimba 25 %, kontrol negatif dan kontrol positif. This service aims to enhance the entrepreneurial spirit of Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar alumni and students through product creation, product production, and product marketing of Sibetan salak items. Students are formed in groups and trained from the production process to marketing. The method in this activity uses the Participatory Action Learning System (PALS) approach. In the process of activities carried out online and offline. The target audience in this program is to involve 20 prospective entrepreneurs. According to the program's findings, tenants are already motivated and knowledgeable about entrepreneurship, as evidenced by their dedication to operating a business and their labeling, marketing, and sales efforts. This program has given tenants start-up funding for their businesses, enabling them to grow into young entrepreneurs. Participants have had the opportunity to create product labeling and packaging, as well as advertise it on social media, at booths, and in online shops. The three phases of the coaching process that the participants underwent were entrepreneurial awareness, capacity building and mentorship, and institutionalization and cooperation. This study aimed to identify the cang salak tea diet’s effect on the ApoC3 gene expression in a hyperlipidemia rat. 18 male Wistar rats were divided equally into three groups. A high-fat-diet-induced two groups of rats, and one group was the control. Once hyperlipidemia had been achieved, one of the two groups was treated with the cang salak tea, and one group was given a standard diet for four weeks. The purpose of this study was to examine the secondary metabolites in CST and to determine the effect of CST treatment on the lipid profile of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), HDL, and LDL level. Wistar rats were divided into three groups: control group (K), hyperlipidemic rats group given CST (P1), and hyperlipidemic rat group without CST treatment. Bakteri asam laktat mampu menghasilkan zat antimikroba yang dapat dikembangkan untuk mengobati kasus infeksi oleh bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dapat menyebabkan infeksi mulai dari keracunan makanan, infeksi kulit hingga infeksi sistemik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan menguji aktivitas antimikroba bakteri asam laktat dari blondo terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif cross-sectional. Sampel blondo diambil dari kelompok wanita tani di Tabanan yang berjumlah 16 sampel dengan pengambilan sampel secara simple random sampling. Bakteri diisolasi menggunakan media selektif yaitu agar de Man Rogosa and Sharpe (MRS) dan identifikasi dengan uji pewarnaan gram, uji katalase dan uji produksi gas dari glukosa. Uji aktivitas antimikroba bakteri asam laktat dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode difusi sumuran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa di dalam sampel blondo terdapat bakteri asam laktat dari genus Lactobacillus dan Streptococcus. Bakteri asam laktat yang diisolasi dari blondo VCO mampu menghambat Staphylococcus aureus dengan terbentuknya zona hambat berupa zona bening dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat 11,02 mm. Zona hambat yang terbentuk termasuk dalam kategori sedang dan kuat, dengan zona hambat tertinggi yang dihasilkan yaitu 20,8 mm dan terendah yaitu 9,2 mm. Bakteri asam laktat dari blondo memiliki aktivitas antimikroba terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.

MCT is stable at very low and high temperatures, and the color does not turn black due to the addition of heat so that it can be developed into beneficial cooking oil for health. Therefore, a study was conducted on the content of fatty acids in VCO after being heated at temperatures of 150, 200, and 250°C for 60 minutes. Analysis of fatty acid content in control VCO(T0), VCO with heating temperatures of 150oC(T1), 200oC(T2), and 250oC(T3) was performed with GCMS QP-2010 Ultra.The results showed that there were differences in levels and types of fatty acids in VCO by treating T0, T1, T2, and T3. At these three temperatures still produce medium-chain saturated fatty acids and trans fatty acids are not produced, so that VCO can be utilized as cooking oil that has better stability and benefits for health.

On the other hand natural compound is necessary to be used as anti-diabetic and anticancer. This study is aimed at analyzing active content of salacca vinegar, to know its potential in healthcare such as for anti-diabetic and anti-cancer. This is a descriptive research by analyzing the active content in laboratory. The result of this research shows that salacca vinegar of Sibetan village contain high levels of acid as vinegar with total of 6.68%; total of phenols is 27.47 mg / 100ml GAE, total of tannins is 71.69 mg / 100ml TAE, flavonoid content is 26.51 mg / 100mi QE, antioxidant capacity is 70.21 mg / L GAEAC, IC 50 is 103.09 mg / ml, vitamin C is 4.6547 mg / 100g. The content of chemicals such as acetic acid, tannins, antioxidants, and flavonoids are potential as anti-diabetic and anticancer, because it serves in lowering blood sugar levels, free radical scavenger, helps in curing damaged pancreatic beta cells, keep the cells from oxidation and protect cells from cancer through five mechanisms. For further research, research in vitro and in vivo of salacca vinegar as an anti-diabetic and anticancer is needed.

Quantitative analysis of nitrite in the meat product, especially sausage has been described. The spectrophotometric measurement of the nitrite contents was conducted by using Griess method. The absorbance of both standard solution and sample carried after 30 minutes at the maximum wavelength 520 nm. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya hambat VCO terhadap pertumbuhan C. albicans yang diisolasi dari swab vagina. Isolasi dilakukan dengan metode kultur, identifikasi mikroskopis, dan uji biokimia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan VCO yang dihasilkan memiliki bau khas kelapa segar, tidak tengik, rasa normal khas minyak kelapa, tidak berwarna, mengandung asam kaproat 0,287%; asam kaprilat 6,115%; asam kaprat 5,832%; asam laurat 48,73%; asam miristat 18,505%; asam palmitat 8,754%; asam stearat 2,606%; asam oleat 10,476%; asam linoleat 0,060%, asam linolenat 0,062%, serta tidak mengandung cemaran mikroba. Hasil ini menunjukkan kesesuaian dengan SNI 7381:2008 sehingga sangat berpotensi dikembangkan produksi dan pemasarannya. Pengembangan produk yang telah dilakukan yaitu produksi VCO original dan aromaterapi. Pemasaran dilakukan melalui toko, apotik, spa, pameran, reseller, dan jejaring media sosial. Produk VCO sangat bermanfaat untuk pangan, kesehatan/pengobatan, dan kosmetik sehingga memiliki potensi pasar yang sangat tinggi.

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas larvasida daun mimba terhadap larva lalat Sarchopaga pada daging yang digunakan sebagai sarana upakara di Bali. Kelompok perlakuan ini yaitu penggunaan daun mimba 25% sebagai larvasida, kelompok kontrol positif yaitu penggunaan minuman bersoda, dan kelompok kontrol negatif yaitu tidak mendapat perlakuan. Hasil uji Kruskal Wallis diperoleh hasil nilai probabilitas p (0,000) < α (0,05) yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan jumlah kematian larva pada perlakuan rebusan daun mimba 25 %, kontrol negatif dan kontrol positif. Perlakuan daun mimba konsentrasi 25% memberikan jumlah kematian larva yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan terhadap kontrol positif dengan perbedaan persentase sebesar 60%.
