Pada bagian akhir prasasti biasanya dituliskan sapatha atau kutukan yang ditujukan kepada mereka yang berani melanggar aturan-aturan atau ketentuan yang telah ditetapkan oleh raja/penguasa pada masa Bali Kuno. Sapatha atau kutukan merupakan wacana untuk melegitimasi dan mengukuhkan kekuasaan raja atau penguasa pada masa Bali Kuno. Mereka yang melanggar perintah atau ketentuan yang telah ditetapkan oleh raja/penguasa pada masa Bali Kuno akan didenda atau dihukum dengan sanksi moral misalnya: tujuh kali menjelma menjadi mahluk hina seperti cacing ataupun lintah, agar disambar petir, disergap harimau bila sedang berjalan di hutan, hina, papa, dan sengsara selama hidupnya. Bioarchaeology is the science that covers the relationship between bioanthropology and archaeolog... more Bioarchaeology is the science that covers the relationship between bioanthropology and archaeology to reconstructing biological and cultural processes in the past. The study focuses on skeletal components of R.PNY (PULAKI) on Pulaki Site that aim to learn information about human osteobigraphy. In this study, authors use methods of data-collection of library studies, obsevations, and interviews. Data is then treated using macroscopic analysis, microscopic analysis, anthropogenic analysis, anthropometrics analysis and comparative analysis. Forensic theory is used to assist in the process of analysis. By the process of identification it is known that the R.PNY (PULAKI) skeleton has an unidentified gender of about 6-12 years of age with a height of 125.102 cm ± 10 cm by length of bone. Relief ini memiliki makna yang penting untuk dikaji lebih lanjut. Tujuan dari tulisan ini untuk mengetahui bentuk cerita serta makna dari penggambaran relief erotis tersebut dengan berdasarkan pada penelitian yang telah dilakukan. Dalam tulisan ini mengunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskripsi analisis bahasa rupa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka, survei, dan wawancara. Analisis dilakukan dengan cara mengkaji bentuk wimba, isi wimba, dan tata ungkapan dalam pada panil relief erotis. This study seeks to reveal the religious activities that occured at Pertapan Temple Site on Mount Pegat from the Kadiri to Majapahit Kingdom, along with the community’s conception of the mountain. The method used in this study includes data collection in the form of observations and interviews, as well as qualitative descriptive analysis through the help of classification, comparison, and contextual analysis. Semiotic theory is used to assist the analysis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk merekonstruksi kehidupan beragama golongan resi pada masa lampau di Situs Gunung Kawi melalui peninggalan budaya material yang mereka tinggalkan. Selain itu, penelitian semacam ini belum pernah dilakukan sebelumnya, sehingga berguna untuk menambah khazanah penelitian di Situs Gunung Kawi. Arca adalah simbol dewa atau perwujudan tokoh masyarakat yang telah wafat. Di Indonesia pada umumnya dan Bali khususnya, tradisi memembuat arca mempunyai sejarah yang panjang, yaitu sejak zaman bercocok tanam hingga zaman berpengaruhnya peradaban Hindu-Budha. Pada zaman Hindu-Budha, berkembang pembuatan arca-arca yang bercorak Hindu dan Budha. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada arca-arca bercorak Hindu yang ditemukan di Kabupaten Gianyar, Bangli, dan Buleleng. Penelitian ikonografi Hindu bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran sejarah seni arca, bentuk, fungsi, dan maknanya dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa ikonografi Hindu di Bali mempunyai bentuk yang beraneka wujud, dengan fungsinya yang berbeda-beda dari fungsinya semula. Demikian juga maknanya bergantung pada masyarakat yang memberikan pemaknaan dalam konteks kekinian.

Sapatha or curse was normally written at the end of the inscription which states the punishment for those who objected the regulations or laws. People punished morally if they objected the regulations or law include seven times to be reincarnated and surfering in all their lives. Sapatha or curse was seen as a discourse in relation of power and knowledge of the kings who reigned in the Old Balinese period. This article explores the sapatha or curse in Old Balinese inscriptions dated from the IX up to XIV century. The aim of this article is to describe the relationship of power and knowledge, as well as discipline and punishment in ancient Bali. Data was gained through documentary studies and interpreted hermeneutically. Theories of ideology, knowledge and power, as well as discipline and punishment will be applied in this article.

That is why water is indispensable for maintaining the survival of humans and other creatures. Water is also the starting place for the emergence of a human civilization.

Arca adalah simbol dewa atau perwujudan tokoh masyarakat yang telah wafat. Di Indonesia pada umumnya dan Bali khususnya, tradisi memembuat arca mempunyai sejarah yang panjang, yaitu sejak zaman bercocok tanam hingga zaman berpengaruhnya peradaban Hindu-Budha. Pada zaman Hindu-Budha, berkembang pembuatan arca-arca yang bercorak Hindu dan Budha. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada arca-arca bercorak Hindu yang ditemukan di Kabupaten Gianyar, Bangli, dan Buleleng. Penelitian ikonografi Hindu bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran sejarah seni arca, bentuk, fungsi, dan maknanya dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa ikonografi Hindu di Bali mempunyai bentuk yang beraneka wujud, dengan fungsinya yang berbeda-beda dari fungsinya semula. Demikian juga maknanya bergantung pada masyarakat yang memberikan pemaknaan dalam konteks kekinian.

Sapatha or curse was normally written at the end of the inscription which states the punishment for those who objected the regulations or laws. People punished morally if they objected the regulations or law include seven times to be reincarnated and surfering in all their lives. Sapatha or curse was seen as a discourse in relation of power and knowledge of the kings who reigned in the Old Balinese period. This article explores the sapatha or curse in Old Balinese inscriptions dated from the IX up to XIV century. The aim of this article is to describe the relationship of power and knowledge, as well as discipline and punishment in ancient Bali. Data was gained through documentary studies and interpreted hermeneutically. Theories of ideology, knowledge and power, as well as discipline and punishment will be applied in this article.
