It is the most practical and affordable way of keeping areas cool especially during hot and humid months. In the Bulacan State University, many electric fans installed in lecture rooms are left unattended even after class hours. This translates to unnecessary fire risks and/or excessive electric consumption of the University. It is in this light that the researchers developed a device that presents an opportunity for the development of intelligent appliances that can save on electricity consumption due to its innovative and eco-friendly features. Various designs were put forward and a careful consideration of each plan was done, with special considerations to the need for innovative appliances that can be very useful in terms of energy efficiency and environmentfriendliness through an integrated multi-dimensional sensor system. The study utilized the developmental r...

The project is different from conventional street lighting systems not only in the sense that it uses solar energy, but more importantly, it is also a stand alone device that provides for an efficient energy management program that ensures effective maintenance and reduced energy wastage due to malfunctioning lighting controls. In addition, it is much cheaper to fabricate and maintain as compared with its commercially available counterparts. One important feature of the project is that it automatically controls the brightness of the LED lamp depending on a particular time of day, especially in cases where full level illumination is not needed, thus reducing power consumption. It automatically activates and deactivates lighting depending on the hours whereby daylight is sensed, thus ensuring a continuous cycle of charging and discharging the storage battery for maximum efficiency. All of these functions are possible since the project uses a controller, allowing for variable settings of time activation as well as brightness level, depending on the preference of the end-users. The project functioned according to expectations, being a cheaper and environment-friendly alternative as compared with its commercially available counterparts. It also provided a cost-effective approach to managing street lighting systems in a wide variety of applications.

The project is developed to lessen the stress for people from all walks of life and circumstances. The project developed is made up of locally available materials. The project can be used indoors and outdoors, since it is designed to lessen the stress of some people who walk a great length. It is especially useful in indoor use, within the vicinity of a school, university, shopping and the like. It is intended for one rider only. It has 2 very important parts, the hub motor and the controller module. The hub motor is the one that drives the whole scooter assembly while the controller is the brain, commanding the hub, lights, sensors, etc. The scooter is powered using a 48 V rechargeable battery and can run in forward and reverse directions. The scooter can fit through a normal size door and is equipped with a sensor that enables it to function only when a rider is on the platform. The project functioned according to expectations, being a cheaper and environmentfriendly alternative as compared with its commercially available counterparts. It also provided a cost-effective approach to providing individualized transport systems in a wide variety of applications.

This research outlined the complex issues that surround e-waste, its negative effects of its improper disposal and policy recommendations to implement an effective e-waste management system in the University. The study covered the 114 rooms in four (4) selected colleges in the BSU Main Campus. The main survey instrument used in this study is standardized e-waste survey instrument as used in a previous study of the University of Edinburgh, Study on the Disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), 2007. The said instrument was slightly modified to fit the research locale of the study. Based on the results of this study, the respondents are fully aware of regarding the presence of e-waste in the University. The study also found that there are a lot of electronic equipments in the University, and for this reason, there is also a considerable amount of e-waste being generated. The respondents also practiced only two e-waste disposal methods, namely: 1) store at the warehouse and 2) hand over to e-waste collectors. On the basis of the foregoing significant findings and conclusions of this study, the following recommendations are offered: 1) the school should sponsor seminars regarding proper e-waste management and disposal for students, faculty and staff; 2) teachers are encouraged to inculcate positive values to their students in terms of caring for the environment through proper e-waste disposal; 3) the school administration may also consider the implementation of the proposed e-waste inventory management system so as to further improve the current practices in the University, making it more responsive to the challenges of today.

The respondents of this study were the 77 faculty members and selected students from the College of Industrial Technology Automotive Technology in the BSU Main Campus for the school year of 2013-2014. The main survey instrument used in this study is the standardized Survey Questionnaire on Automotive Liquid Waste Management of www.spokanewastewater.org. The said instrument was slightly modified to fit the research locale and conditions of the study. Based on the results of this study, the AT department services an average of 3 vehicles per day, with usual operating hours of 4 hours a day. It also commonly offers the following services namely: oil change, brake and engine repair. The most common type of equipment found in the AT department is the vehicle lift, part washer and oil drum rack. In addition, the most common type of liquid automotive waste products generated is the used motor oil (15-20 liters) and the used brake fluid (4 liters and below). Finally, the respondents all "Agree" that there is a need to recycle used oil and that there is also a procedure in handling and disposing liquid automotive waste. On the basis of the foregoing significant findings and conclusions of this study, the following recommendations are offered: 1) the CIT should sponsor orientation seminars regarding liquid automotive waste for both students and teachers in the AT Department; 2) the teachers continue to strive to continuously look for creative ways to minimize and recycle various automotive liquid wastes; 3) the teachers are encouraged to manifest favorable values in caring for the environment to their students; and 4) the school administration may also consider the implementation of the proposed liquid automotive waste manual to further improve the current practices in the AT Department.

Findings reveal that the student-respondents exhibited the (10) learning and compensatory strategies of study, concentration, memory, learning from textbooks, learning from lectures, essays and assignments, exams, organization and time management, self-advocacy skills and disability specific strategies to a moderate degree. In addition, majority of the student-respondents were only able to obtain low scores in their listening tests. Regarding the correlations, it was found that out of the 10 compensatory learning strategies, four were found to have correlation with listening abilities. Study strategies and learning from lectures were found to have high significant correlation with listening abilities while memor...
