This magnet array generates a modulated rotating magnetic field (MRF) without moving the sample and can produce an MRF of ∼ 0.8 T. By utilizing this magnet array, DyBa2Cu3Oy (Dy123, y ∼ 7) grains were biaxially aligned. After cutting the as-aligned sample that was magnetically aligned, we observed a location dependence of the orientation degree. We achieved the higher in-plane orientation degree of ∼ 8.5° and the c-axis orientation degree of ∼ 6.0°, respectively. The 3D simulation analysis played a key role in identifying the region where the uniformity of the MRF is within the magnet array. Compared to the epitaxial growth techniques, the use of the magnet array offers a cost-effective and versatile solution for achieving triaxial magnetic alignment.

It also complements the seasonal and annual variabilities of surface water. Monitoring of groundwater fluctuations is mandatory to envisage the composition of terrestrial water storage. This research provides an overview of traditional techniques and detailed discussion on the modern tools and methods to monitor groundwater fluctuations along with advanced applications. The groundwater monitoring can broadly be classified into three groups. The first one is characterized by the point measurement to measure the groundwater levels using classical instruments and electronic and physical investigation techniques. The second category involves the extensive use of satellite data to ensure robust and cost-effective real-time monitoring to assess the groundwater storage variations. Many satellite data are in use to find groundwater indirectly. However, GRACE satellite data supported with other satellite produ...

Methodology: Simulation modeling technique has been used to develop a manpower planning model. A conceptual stock and flow diagram was developed to formulate the transition probabilities and relationship between different grades. Furthermore, seven different equations of the model were developed for all grades of the workforce. In order to implement the model a software application based on the equations of the model was developed to assist HR managers to alter the factors (like accession, promotion and retirement rates) and to analyze the effects on the force growth over long term planning horizon. To test the model a hypothetical assumption was made regarding the desired structure and different scenario based simulations were generated and picked those that yielded the best results. Findings: The test results of the model were quite close...

The landscape of international practica in social work has evolved and shifted over the last two decades. This article reports on the findings of a literature review that was conducted to understand how international practicum has changed over time. The study established search criteria that led to the inclusion of 70 publications, 16 in the first decade (2000 to 2010) and 54 in the second decade (2011 to 2020) utilizing the web of Science and Social Work s, as well as specific searches conducted on the University of Calgary Library Database, EBSCO host, ProQuest, and Google Scholar. The results of the literature review show that there were fewer publications in the first decade and the emphasis was on understanding international practicum and field models. During the second dec...

Human resource development professionals, researchers, training related experts and organizational psychologists have started to explore intensively the nature of managerial coaching and its outcomes. Managerial coaching has become a very popular human resource development and organizational development tool to improve various employees’ attitudes and behavior at workplace. The managerial coaching lacks empirical evidence regarding its effectiveness. This study aims to examine the direct influence of managerial coaching on employee job performance as well as indirect influence through mediating effect of work engagement, leader-member-exchange quality, job satisfaction, and turnover intentions. The data were collected from a publicsector organization of Pakistan. The self-administered questionnaires were used to collect data from 183 respondents. The Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-S...

Drawing on the social exchange theory, this study examined the mediating role of job satisfaction and psychological empowerment on the relationship between transformational leadership and employee’s voice behavior. Data were collected through survey questionnaires by utilizing a three-wave time-lagged study design from employees from diverse private and public sector organizations in Pakistan. The parallel multiple mediation is tested through Hayes’s process macro. The results indicate that job satisfaction and psychological empowerment partially mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and employee’s voice behavior. Further analysis depicts that both job satisfaction and psychological empowerment leveraged under transformational leadership act as parallel mediators and have no statistical significant difference betw...

It commonly follows posterior gastrojejunostomy without/with incomplete vagotomy for peptic ulcer disease. Over period of time, with advances in medical science the modalities used in diagnosis and the treatment have changed. GJCF is associated with high morbidity and mortality. The objective of this study was to analyze our experience in the management of GJCF. Between 1993 and 2017, 13 patients presented with GJCF after surgery for peptic ulcer disease at our hospital for elective surgery. Data from the records of these patients was analyzed retrospectively. Weight loss, faeculant vomiting and diarrhoea were the common symptoms. Diagnosis of GJCF was made by barium enema, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy and CT scan abdomen. All patients underwent surgery-single stage 9 patients, two stages 2 patients and closure of fistula with distal gastrectomy in 2 patients. GJCF should be considered as a diagnosis in patients presenting with one or more of the clinical symptoms-faeculent vomiting, chronic diarrhoea, weight loss after surgery for peptic ulcer. Diagnosis of GJCF has evolved for barium enema to colonoscopy and CT scan. Depending on the nutritional status of patient the trend in the surgery has changed from multiple stages to single stage surgery.

More importantly, water is the most basic human need and also a key to eradicating poverty and bringing economic growth. This article focuses on how water scarcity has had a big impact on the social well-being of the people in the Makran region of Balochistan. The main purpose of this article is to help policymakers and leaders better understand the perceptions of people about how drought has impacted households in the Gwadar region. The research for this article was conducted using a qualitative research design in which in-depth semi-structured interviews were used for data collection.

In oxygenated standard culture medium containing hydrocortisone and antibiotics, they maintained their short-circuit current ( Isc) responses to glucose and theophylline for 48 h. Histological examination revealed a 50% diminution of villus height over 36 h but no change in crypts. Height was better maintained during a 36-h incubation of small intestine from SCID mice, suggesting a role for B or T lymphocytes in villus atrophy. Exposure of small intestine to 100 U/ml IFN-γ for 36 h decreased basal Iscby 40% and Iscresponses to glucose and theophylline by ∼70%; at 1,000 U/ml for 36 h, IFN-γ inhibited these Iscresponses by 90%. An inhibitor of inducible NO synthase did not reverse these effects, suggesting that they are not mediated by NO. Tissue resistance, mucosal K+content, and epithelial morphology were not affected. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from students at three different universities. In all, 748 units of analysis (488 male and 260 female) recorded their responses by means of a self-structured questionnaire. Linear regression was applied to measure the associations between variables, and the reliability and validity of the scales were tested. Findings A significant relationship was found between pre-poll rigging, post-poll rigging, politics and voting behavior, socioeconomic characteristics (i.e. age, education, father’s education, background or place of residence and monthly household incomes), the perception of rigging in the last elections and attitudes toward electoral integrity. Practical imp...
