Scientometric analysis of 59 research articles published in Pakistan Journal of Library and Infor... more Scientometric analysis of 59 research articles published in Pakistan Journal of Library and Information<br> Science (PJLIS) has been carried out. Seven Volumes of the journal containing 8 issues from 2011 – 2016 have<br> been taken into consideration for the present study. The number of contributions, authorship pattern & author<br> productivity, average citations, average length of articles, average keywords and collaborative papers has been<br> analyzed. Out of 59 contributions, only 18 are single authored and rest by multi authored with degree of<br> collaboration 0.69 and week collaboration among the authors. Pattern of Co-Authorship revealed that the<br> improving trend of co-authored papers. The study revealed that the author productivity is 0.50 and dominated<br> by the Pakistani authors.

Purpose – This study aims to explore the Web impact factors (WIFs) for websites of Pakistani univ... more Purpose – This study aims to explore the Web impact factors (WIFs) for websites of Pakistani universities. The paper discusses why revised Web impact factor (RWIF) is more meaningful than simple WIF. The study also attempts to rank the top-five websites of Pakistani universities by considering four different website ranking systems and compares the WIFs of university websites of other developing countries as well. Design/methodology/approach – This study calculates the RWIF for subject websites using two webometric tools. Open Site Explorer service (i.e. Developer Shed) and two commercial search engines, i.e. Google and Bing, were used to collect the data for examining the RWIF for subject websites. Findings – Collectively 41,960 web pages and 49,740 inlinks were found in top-ten Pakistani universities’ websites. The collective RWIF for subject websites comes to 1.185, which is at the top in comparison with other developing countries, i.e. India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indonesia....

The cumulative publication output of top ten countries and India in the field accounts to 1879 publications. Total number of citations & high quality papers were also calculated. The growth in the publication is studied through Relative Growth Rate and doubling time. The authorship pattern is measured by different collaboration parameters like collaborative index and modified collaborative coefficient.
