We argue that this process can be extended to include a cosmic biosphere within which evolution would seem to be intimately interlinked across astronomical, perhaps cosmological distance scales. Comets and interstellar dust, argued to have a bacterial/viral component, could be involved in establishing these links.

Recent studies in geology, astronomy and biology point to an intimate connection between the evolution of life and a cosmic virosphere/biosphere.

Arrhenius' version of panspermia suffered the handicap that it did not lend itself to verification at the time, and science never takes kindly to such theories. The rate of microbe addition that he proposed was so minuscule as to be

The Copernican revolution of half a millennium ago is now being extended to place humanity on the Earth in its correct cosmic perspective-an assembly of cosmically derived viral genes, no more, no less, pieced together over 4 billion years of geological history against the processes of Darwinian natural selection. The evidence for our cosmic ancestry has now grown to the point that to deny it is a process fraught with imminent danger. We discuss the weight of modern scientific evidence from diverse sources, the history of development of the relevant ideas, and the socioeconomic and historical forces that are responsible for dictating the pace of change.

We argue that adhering to the obsolete paradigm of closed-box Darwinian evolution is a major obstacle to progress. If the Zika virus escalates unchecked its soma-to-germ line transfer might effectively lead to the emergence of a new human species with a diminished level of cognition.

We then assume the viral debris and particles then made land fall in the Wuhan and related regions about a month to six weeks later resulting in first cases of the viral pneumonia caused by nCoV-2019 emerging in Wuhan regions late November 2019-early December 2019.
After submission to The Lancet Professor Reginald M Gorczynski independently checked the data and analysis and agreed to be a co-signatory to the letter (5 Feb 2020). This version with his name is at the viXra.org archive site of Edward jJSteele
