A mathematical model was established to calculate the actual concentration of PY (Z) based on the apparent concentrations of PY (Y) and RF (X), which were quantified directly when RF and PY were mixed together. First, a linear relationship was found between Y and Z with a high coefficient, which defines fluorescence quenching efficiency. Second, a curvilinear equation was established between the apparent concentration of X and the fluorescence quenching efficiency (k) of PY. The actual concentration of PY could be obtained by using the two equations. The established mathematical model was verified, and the relative error of the calculated PY value was below 2.5%. The upper limit of fluorescence spectrophotometry quantification was up to 20 μg/mL for both RF and PY. Compared with RP-HPLC, this method is convenient in terms of sample pretreatment, as we...

Research paper thumbnail of Adaptive multiple-input multiple-output mode switching for indoor visible light communication system with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing modulation

Chinese Optics Letters, 2017

We propose and experimentally demonstrate an adaptive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) mode ... more We propose and experimentally demonstrate an adaptive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) mode switching scheme for an indoor visible light communication system combined with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing modulation. Only requiring 1 bit feedback from the receiver, the MIMO mode at the transmitter switches between spatial multiplexing and transmit diversity adapting to the channel correlation. In such a way, we can take advantage of both spatial multiplexing and transmit diversity, where the spatial multiplexing benefits for its multiplexing gain in the low channel correlation environment, and the transmit diversity is robust to high channel correlation. Experimental results validate the performance improvement over the pure spatial multiplexing or transmit diversity system. With the increasing of the channel correlation, the measured bit error rates of the proposed system are below the 7% pre-forward error correction (pre-FEC) limit of 3.8 × 10 −3 when the transmitted data rate is 50 Mb/s, and below the 20% pre-FEC threshold of 5.0 × 10 −2 when the transmitted data rate is raised up to 100 Mb/s. The numerical simulations and experimental results show that we can reconstruct a good quality object. The computation of CGH for a three-dimensional(3D) dynamic holographic display can also be sped up by programming with our proposed method. It can optimize both file loading and the inline calculation process. The phase-only CGH with gigabyte data for reconstructing 10 MB object samplings is generated. In addition, the proposed method effectively reduced time costs of loading and writing offline tables on a CPU. It is believed the proposed method can provide high speed and huge data CGH for 3D dynamic holographic displays in the near future.

In the adaptive transmission scheme, power allocation is performed in such a way as to maximize the channel capacity under electric power constraints, and adaptive modulation is then introduced to achieve the maximum data rate given a target bit error rate. Experimental results show that spectrum efficiency can be greatly improved through this adaptive transmission technique.

Thus the key to calculate the determinant is to find the trees and tree-pairs in the graph. The algorithm and the program scheme to find out all valid trees and valid tree-pairs are presented in this paper. A simulator of symbolic analysis by the algorithm is implemented. WLY78. However, the nitrogenase activity in the recombinant E. coli 78-7 is only 10 % of that observed in wild-type Paenibacillus. Thus, it is necessary to increase nitrogenase activity through synthetic biology. In order to increase nitrogenase activity in heterologous host, a total of 28 selected genes from Paenibacillus sp. WLY78 and Klebsiella oxytoca were placed under the control of Paenibacillus nif promoter in two different vectors and then they are separately or combinationally transferred to the recombinant E. coli 78-7. The ablation areas present an oscillation increase phenomenon when the pulse delay increases from 200 fs to 1 ps in the fluence range of 0.5-0.6 J∕cm 2. In contrast, the ablation areas exhibit an oscillation decrease phenomenon as the pulse delay increases when the laser fluence F < 0.5 J∕cm 2 , which is consistent with the results of the experiment in air. It is considered that the adjustment of the photon-electron coupling efficiency by pulse train technology plays an important role in the ablation process.

However, the role of MEF2c in avian muscle development still remains unclear. To understand the function of MEF2c in avian muscle development, we first cloned the duck MEF2c coding domain sequence (CDS) and analyzed MEF2c expression in duck muscle tissues of embryos from 10 days of incubation to 1 week after birth using real-time PCR technology. The results showed that the duck MEF2c CDS consists of 1,398 nucleotides that encode 465 amino acids. The MEF2c duck protein contains a MADS domain, a MEF2 domain and a HJURP_C domain with high homology to related proteins in other organisms. Different expression levels of MEF2c were found in skeletal, smooth and cardiac muscle. Therefore, these results indicated that duck MEF2c has two conserved domains (a MADS and a MEF2 domain), is an indispensable regulator of muscle development, and plays an important role in the development of duck muscle.

After seeding the silica tubes with 200 nm seeds, all the silicalite-1 membranes show acceptable separation performance towards ethanol/water mixture after 4-12 h hydrothermal synthesis, and the highest flux of membrane with 8 h hydrothermal synthesis reaches about 0.98 kg/m2.h and the separation factor reaches about 60 towards 3 wt.% ethanol/water mixture. This result shows that the as-synthesized silicalite-1 membrane can concentrate the ethanol from 3% to about 65%, and the ethanol can be obtained over 600 g/m2.h by using the silicalite-1 membrane, which shows that seeding method and suitable control of synthesis conditions is possible for preparing high-performance silicalite-1 membranes.

The results show that the flux enhances with the enhancement of NaOH solution concentration, but the separation selectivity decreases with the enhancement of NaOH solution concentration. After pretreating the α-Al2O3 tubes with different NaOH solution, the weight of all the α-Al2O3 tube decreases, but the Si/Al ratio increases, which shows that suitable pretreatment of α-Al2O3 is useful for improving the hydrophobicity of silicalite-1 membranes.

The influence of different parameters of the modulation devices on the image quality of the 3D reconstructed object is analyzed for two cases: the phase-only computer-generated holography (CGH) and the complex amplitude CGH. The results quantitatively show that the pixel shape of the modulation devices will affect the quality of the holographic image.

We find that the expression capabilities of semantic patterns are determined by their instantiation degrees. Hence, we propose an evaluation strategy named Semantic Identifiability Inverse Pattern Universality (SIIPU), using which we can estimate the
