In the last 12 years, various consulting firms and researchers have developed and modified busine... more In the last 12 years, various consulting firms and researchers have developed and modified business process maturity models in order to perfectly measure and improve business process maturity. However, many organizations found difficulties in adopting these models due to many observed facts. In this paper we will highlight the top challenges faced in the current BPM maturity models and then outline the proposed maturity domains and criteria that assess any organization’s maturity in an objective manner.
This paper supports scientific research in the field of business process management and serves as a foundation for further researches based on the identified shortcomings, it provides researchers with a comprehensive view on the operational maturity in any organization and supports their studies. The DHA process management team is committed to share valuable knowledge that will lead to a high impact and influence on the international market. The development of this paper is a collaborative effort by members of the Process Management team at Dubai Health Authority (DHA). We hope that this paper offers valuable insights of the assessment tool used on business process maturity. The Business Process Management team would like to thank all those who have contributed to the success of implementing this initiative.
