Arastirmanin orneklemini Balikesir Universitesi ve Dokuz Eylul Universitesi olusturmaktadir. Arastirma modeli olarak nitel arastirma metodu secilmistir. Veriler nitel arastirma yontemlerinden gorusme ve acik uclu sorular kullanilarak elde edilmistir. Toplanan veriler etiketlenerek anlamlandirilmis, yuzde oranlari belir-lenmistir. Veriler gruplandirilarak sunulmustur. Elde edilen sonuclar dogrultusunda cozum onerileri sunulmustur.

This study aimed to determine the effects of the materials developed for the fourth grade Science... more This study aimed to determine the effects of the materials developed for the fourth grade Science and Technology course to the students' creative thinking skills and self-concepts. The study included 76 students enrolled in a Primary School in Balıkesir in 2006-2007 academic years. Anunequal control group model of semiexperimental models was used. While textbook and the activities inworkbook used in the control group, beside the textbook and workbook, extra materials such as worksheets, powerpoints, educational games and etc. developed by the researchers used in the experimental group. Data were collected by Torrance Creative ThinkingTest and Piers-Harris Self-conceptScale. Data were analyzed according to descriptive analyses, independent samples t-test, and ANCOVA. The study results revealed that there was a statistically significant mean differencebetween the control and the experimental groups after the treatment, in terms of sub-dimension of flexibility from creative thinking skills, in favor of the experimentalgroup; while there was no statistically significant mean difference, in terms of self-concept.
