It is among the most prevalent neurological conditions. Greek term epilambanein, which is the root of the English word epilepsy, means "to be seized." Both the sickness and the one-time attack were meant by this. The word refers to the magical beliefs of the time, which led to the stigma associated with epilepsy because people with epilepsy were seen to be dirty or bad. A recent study found that nearly 90% of the 70 million epileptics worldwide live in developing countries. Genetic testing has expanded the possibility of figuring out the aetiology of different types of epilepsies. It needs some prior clinical application knowledge to complete this challenging endeavour. Genetic testing techniques include chromosome microarray analysis, karyotyping, single-gene testing, gene panel testing, whole exome sequenci...

Research paper thumbnail of General overview of the Risk factors, Pathogenesis, and Combined treatments for Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (HT)

World Journal of Current Medical and Pharmaceutical Research

It is a chronic inflammation of the thyroid gland. It is characterized by autoimmune-mediated thyroid gland destruction, which results in progressive thyroid failure, either with or without goiter formation. In young to middle-aged women, Hashimoto's thyroiditis typically starts as a painless, diffuse, firm thyroid gland enlargement that progresses to hypothyroidism. Many people don't initially exhibit hypothyroidism, and some don't even have a goiter or may have an atrophic thyroid gland. Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT), also known as chronic autoimmune thyroiditis, is an inflammatory condition that is characterized by parenchymal atrophy, fibrosis, and diffuse lymphocytic infiltration. being the main source of primary hypothyroidism in regions with adequate iodine. With the help o...

The varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which causes chickenpox or varicella, is a contagious illness. ... more The varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which causes chickenpox or varicella, is a contagious illness. The virus is in charge of causing chickenpox. Anywhere in the world, sneezing, coughing, and direct skin contact with lesions can spread the chickenpox virus. It may start to spread one to two days before the rash manifests and continue to do so until all lesions have crusted over. Those who are not immune can contract chickenpox from shingles sufferers through touch with their blisters. The disease is recognized based on the symptoms that are now present, and the diagnosis is then confirmed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing of the blister fluid or scabs. In India, chickenpox is among the most commonly neglected diseases. Chickenpox is more common in children and those with weakened immune systems. There are complications as a result. In 1990, there were recorded 11,200 deaths from chickenpox worldwide, and 6,800 in 2010. The virus may remain dormant in the ganglion and reactivate as a result of ageing, immunity (acquired, inherited, or iatrogenic), and other factors. Falling cellular immunity is one of the main causes of zoster, which can occur for a variety of reasons. In this review study, the pathophysiology, aetiology, symptoms, and combined therapy of chickenpox are discussed.

The cause of jaundice is a high bilirubin level in the body. Jaundice commonly manifests as skin, mucous membranes, and skin that are yellow. Pre-hepatic jaundice is caused by hemolysis of red blood cells, hepatic jaundice is caused by a problem with the liver's ability to collect, conjugate, and excrete bilirubin, and post-hepatic jaundice is caused by the obstruction of the extra hepatobiliary system. When bilirubin is metabolised, red blood cells (RBCs) go through hemolysis and release haemoglobin as a result. Heme is broken down by the heme oxygenase in the reticuloendothelial system into biliverdin and carbon monoxide. Then, biliverdin is converted into unconjugated bilirubin by the enzyme biliverdin reductase. Jaundice typically manifests as extreme weakness, fever and a headache, decrease in appetite, extremely constipated, Nausea, urine, tongue, skin, and eyes that are all yellow, dull discomfort near the liver. In the entire world, l...
