The composites BST50/50//PVDF, BST60/40//PVDF and BST70/30//PVDF were obtained by the hot pressing method for volume fraction of BST ceramic powder cv = 1.47%, 3.04%, 4.75% and 6.6%. The morphology of BST50/50//PVDF, BST60/40//PVDF and BST70/30// PVDF composite powders and the composite microstructure was observed by transmission and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. Dielectric properties of the composites were measured by the impedance spectroscopy method. The split-post dielectric resonator (SPDR) was used for the measurements of the real and imaginary part of dielectric permittivity of the BST//PVDF composites in the microwave frequency range of f = 3-10 GHz.

Ferroelectric substructure is placed under grounded substrate of antenna and coupled with it by three slots etched in internal metallic sheet. The radiation pattern control capability is demonstrated by varying the permittivity of the ferroelectric substructure. The proposed antenna is an excellent solution for a low-cost mm-wave beam-forming due to high radiation efficiency, high gain, low-profile, and low cost of fabrication.

The behaviour of the array is the complex function of the geometry, sensor characteristic, signal and noise properties and other different factors. Before building the array it is essential to simulate its performance in different conditions with different algorithms. Most of the time the simulations are performed using custom ad-hoc created code. This code is error prone and difficult to maintain. Our goal was to create a reusable and extensible library that would provide the components used in the simulation process. In this paper we present the initial version of the library along with several illustrative examples.

They show that inclusion only the electromagnetic properties for designing the optoelectronic devices is not satisfying. For this reason, designing process of the optimal (from the acousto-optic point of view) construction of the modulator with RF transducer should include two stages. The first stage has to be based on the acousto-optic requirements. The second stage has to be related to the optimization of the electromagnetic parameters taking into account the results of the first stage.

An application in sub-THz devices is also prospective. In view of the foregoing, the electrical parameters of a single-crystal BSO were examined in this work in the 220–325 GHz frequency range. The influence of UV radiation on the transmission of waves through the material was also subjected to an experimental study. The results can contribute to the development of future BSO based sub-THz devices.

An appropriate choice of the shape and resistance per square of the pattern allows extending an absorbing spectrum up to an octave, which is very competitive over alternative solutions, similar in shape, but made of metallic patterns. The pattern is made of a printing ink with graphene nanoplatelets, what makes the mixture conducting at a low volume fraction of inclusions.

It provides information, why it is important to determine this parameter and describes simple measurement procedure. Measurement results for selected exemplary antennas are also given.

The antenna structure comprises a set of discrete PIN diodes, modeled in electromagnetic simulation by its equivalent circuit. Relation between the number of diodes and antenna performance is discussed in details

The results of design and investigations of elliptically polarized millimeter wave antenna arrays... more The results of design and investigations of elliptically polarized millimeter wave antenna arrays are shown. A presented leaky-wave antenna array consists of the waveguide structure and a finite diffraction grating. The diffraction grating is excited by an E-type surface wave, which is the eigenwave of the waveguide structure. The diffraction grating consist of rectilinear and parallel nonhomogeneities, which are disposed at an angle of /spl alpha/ in the direction of surface wave propagation. The angle /spl alpha/, widths and distances between nonhomogeneities are chosen by using special optimization algorithms in order to obtain the necessary electrodynamic characteristics.
