It can present very different clinical symptoms. It often occurs as a complication of cholecystitis. These patients are usually under anticoagulant therapy or they have coagulopathy.

MS remains to be a serious problem due to its high morbidity. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the diagnostic tools, risk factors and clinical output data we apply to our patients with MS in the light of the literature. We retrospectively analyzed the data of patients treated for MS in the last decade in our hospital, where an average of 1350 cholecystectomies are performed annually. Clinical, laboratory and imaging data obtained from patients' files were evaluated. We identified 76 patients with MS and classified them as type 1-5 according to the Csendes classification. Abdominal pain, fever and jaundice were the most common symptoms. 42 patients had type 1 and 2 MS. Mirizzi syndrome was diagnosed with preoperative radiological imaging methods in 24 of the patients. In 41 of the patients, the surgery first started laparoscopically, and then turned to laparotomy in 39 patients. Other 35 patients were operated with conventional methods. In 11 cases, subtotal cholecystectomy was performed Early diagnosis and surgical treatment of symptomatic cholelithiasis decrease the frequency of MS. Inflammation criteria can be used as an indicative biomarker. The patient's history, USG, ERCP and MRCP findings are currently the most important diagnostic tools. Releasing the gallbladder with the "fundus first" approach can reduce the risk of trauma. In cases where MS is suspected, a stent placed with ERCP decrease bile duct trauma. KEY WORDS: Complication, Diagnosis, Mirizzi's syndrome, Prediction, Treatment.

[3-5] In autopsy studies, it has been stated that deaths seen as a result of HA injury are mostly due to liver necrosis. Necrosis that occurs in the liver is diffuse or patchy. [1,3] Although significant improvements in complications and mortality rates due to HA injuries have been detected in recent years, it still continues to cause serious morbidity and mortality. [3,6] Better results are obtained today with a better understanding of liver physiology, antibiotics, early diagnosis, interventional procedures, and improved intensive care conditions.

A retrospective review of hospitalisation records was conducted from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2019. Data were obtained from a total of 113,999 records. The median age of patients was 18 months, with 83.98% of patients aged <5 years. Infectious diseases accounted for 61.0% of all cases. The most prevalent diseases were lower respiratory tract infections (32.8%), followed by gastrointestinal infections (13.3%) and confirmed influenza (5.4%). Most infections were not microbiologically documented. A total of 81.4% patients received at least one antibiotic. Most patients (97.0%) were hospitalised for less than 15 days. Regarding outcomes, 87.8% patients were discharged home with a favourable outcome. 12.0% were transferred to the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital because their condition ...

STUDY DESIGN Descriptive study. PLACE AND DURATION OF STUDY Department of General Surgery, İzmir Katip Celebi University, School of Medicine, Turkey between January 2015 and June 2020. METHODOLOGY All patients who underwent PD, and were found to be benign histopathologically, were included in the study. Patients who had to undergo PD due to trauma during operations performed for other reasons, were also included in the study. The data was collected as per objective. RESULTS Diagnosis of benign pathologies was made histopathologically in 27 of the 248 patients (10.89%). It was found that 8 of 17 patients, who had biopsy in the preoperative period, were operated with a pre-diagnosis of malignancy, nine were performed PD due to accompanying clinical findings despite the detection of non-diagnostic cytology, and ten patients were taken into surgery; because of the malignancy risk could not be ruled out. CONCLUSION Patients with benign pathology were found to have better parameters of CRP and total bilirubin. PD was performed in patients with mass in the pancreas; and whose cancer risk could not be ruled out. To reduce PD due to benign causes, patients with undiagnosed lesions should be evaluated with a multidisciplinary approach, and diagnostic tools should be cross-checked. PET/CT may also be useful in the differential diagnosis. Key Words: Benign, Diagnosis, Pancreas, Pancreaticoduodenectomy, Pathology.

This case report is a description of the approach used to manage a gastrocolocutaneous fistula that developed after a PEG procedure. A 35-year-old male with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis had a PEG tube inserted in the endoscopy unit due to recurrent episodes of aspiration pneumonia. During the postoperative period, the PEG tube was withdrawn as a result of bilious discharge from the rim of the tube and maceration of the skin around the tube The patient was referred to us due to the leakage of feces from the PEG site. Given the high rate of flow observed during follow-up and the unlikelihood of spontaneous closure, surgical repair was planned. The operation included repair of a fistula between the stomach and the colon, partial gastric resection, and primary sutures to effect a repair of the colon. Proper management of complications of a PEG procedure can lead to a quick and effective recovery.

We should aim to perform the best procedure with the best technique to reduce the risk of recurrence. Surgical options include primary repair and open or laparoscopic repair with mesh. Mesh repairs can be performed as onlay, sublay or inlay according to the area where the mesh is to be laid. In this retrospective study, our main goal was to compare the recurrence rates in patients who underwent incisional hernia repair with onlay and inlay mesh techniques. Methods: This retrospective study included 185 patients who underwent surgery due to incisional hernia in our clinic between January 2012 and October 2017. Patients were divided into two groups according to the technique as Group 1 with onlay mesh repair and Group 2 with inlay mesh repair. The same type of mesh (prolen) was applied to all patients. Results: There were 121 pat...
