Erosive effect in vitro assessing of three carbonated soft drinks over tooth enamel surface ABSTRACT The aim of this in vitro study was to assess the effect of three erosive carbonated soft drinks over tooth enamel surface. Sixty enamel specimens were divided into four groups. Three groups were exposed to carbonated soft drinks for one minute, followed by three minutes of artificial saliva. This cycle was repeated every 20 minutes. The negative control group was immersed in distilled water. Vickers hardness method was used to determine the for erosive effect on specimens before and after they were exposed to soft drinks., A significant difference (Student t-test p<0.05) was found between initial and final microhardness values of the specimens exposed to carbonated soft drinks. In conclusion, Kola Real® carbonated soft drink showed an erosive effect similar to Coca-Cola®, while Inca Kola® had the lowest erosive effect.

This paper analyses, from the perspective of the Rules of Safety and Occupational Health, the current conditions for its implementation in companies operating in Dominican territory and the motivations that can encourage its compliance. We use a prospective and crosscutting tools used to collect qualitative information and analysis. Here we deal with issues such as the structures involved in the management of risk prevention, the availability of qualified technical personnel for these purposes and the professional training that receive the graduate students from dominican universities about industrial safety. We check also the objective of the Regulation in most economic activities. Lastly we introduce proposals to extend the knowledge and fulfillment of those health and safety regulations, required by law, to a greater number of companies. KEY WORD Safety and occupational health, labor risk prevention, occupational illness, labor accidents.
