YouTube as a social media video platform that is easily accessible and has a wide reach, is often... more YouTube as a social media video platform that is easily accessible and has a wide reach, is often used to share ideas and thoughts, more so when the Corona pandemic hit the world, including preachers. This article examines the interpretation of preachers on YouTube media about Covid-19. This article employed the descriptive analysis, where the author examined online da'wah material on YouTube, specifically focusing on their Qur'anic interpretation of Covid-19 to be analyzed based on the Qur'anic language approach and interpretation principles. The study of the online Qur'anic interpretation material shows that there are problems with online preachers in interpreting the Qur'an as their response to the Covid-19 outbreak. The author identifies two main factors contributing to the birth of these problems: 1) a partial and non-integrative understanding of the Qur'anic text and 2) limited mastery of the Qur'anic language.Keywords: Covid-19; Interpretation of t...

The content of Surah al-Nisāʼ in the Qur'an is full of messages regarding the importance of e... more The content of Surah al-Nisāʼ in the Qur'an is full of messages regarding the importance of empowering women. However, many Muslim communities still underestimate and marginalize women, rendering them less empowered. This research describes women's empowerment in Islam and moderate interpretations of Qur'anic verses related to women. It analyzes the verses about women empowerment in Surah al-Nisāʼof the Quran, referring to several fair interpretations and linking them to field phenomena. The results show that the Qur'an is a holy book that supports women's empowerment, an aspect perceived to have social, economic, health, spiritual, and legal dimensions in Surah al-Nisāʼ. It is urgent to empower women to live worthy and equal to men. This research is expected to help understand the verses on moderate women’s empowerment equally and justly as men in building a civilization on earth.

The study about the miracles of the Qur’an has been done by many scholars of the Qur’an. Among the scholars themselves one may find many interpretations; Some of them limit on the its linguistical aspects while others add some aspects to the content of the Qur’an. The discourses about the miracles of the Qur’an, then, continues to grow until today. To find common ground in reconciling these differences, one needs to first understand the nature of “miracles of the Qur’an” and the nature of “rabbaniyyatul Quran”/the divine aspects of the Qur’an. The miracles of the Qur’an can be seen as a sign that it comes from God, while the truth of the Qur’an that comes from God is not a part of the miracles. The formulation of the problem in this article is how is the level of compatibility between the marriages of the Lampung Saibatin indigenous people and the teachings of Islam they believe? The purpose of this article is to describe the concept of marriage in the Qur'an and marriage customs in the Lampung Saibatin indigenous community and their compatibility with Islamic teachings through the study of gender verses in the Qur'an. The method used is qualitative, with a sociological approach. Al-Qur’an is revealed through mutawatir method and is guaranted by Allah Almighty from any amendments. However there is exist the mufassirun who has moulded their interpretations with Isra’iliyyat. These elements are used whenever the mufassirun explains about the story of the prophets. Isra’iliyyat influence in tafseer is clearly visible, especially in the classical Qur’anic commentators with the history-oriented. Isra’iliyyat also gived visible effect on a contemporary tafseer "Kulliyat Rasa'il Al-Nur", written by an Islamic scholar and cleric from Turkey, Badi 'al-Zaman AlSaid Nursi. Abstrak Thoha Husein merupakan sosok budayawan dan kritikus sastra besar berkebangsaan Mesir, ada... more Abstrak Thoha Husein merupakan sosok budayawan dan kritikus sastra besar berkebangsaan Mesir, ada banyak karya ilmiah yang telah ditulisnya, diantaranya adalah“Fi asy-Syi ʻ ir al-Jâhili”, sebuah buku yang kontroversial dikarenakan dalam buku ini beliau berupaya untuk menafikan fakta sejarah keberadaan Ibrahim dan Ismail di Tanah Hijaz, dengan alasan adanya perbedaan yang sangat mendasar antara bahasa Qahthâniyyah dan Adnâniyyah. Sesungguhnya konspirasi politik lah yang melahirkan kisah keberadaan Ibrahim dan Ismail di tanah Hijaz, demikian sebagaimana yang diungkapkan oleh Thoha Husein dalam bukunya tersebut. Respon balik pun bermunculan dari kalangan ulama dan cendekiawan, diantara mereka ada yang mengkritisinya dari aspek keorsinilan pendapat ini, dikarenakan adanya kemiripan pendapat Thoha Husein diatas dengan pendapat orang lain sebelumnya, juga dikarenakan ketidakakuratan Thoha Husein dalam menukil pendapat seseorang. Ada juga yang mengkritisinya dari sisi fakta sejarah, logika berpikir, sebagaimana kita dapatkan yang lain mengkritisnya dengan berargumentasikan teks agama. Pasca kedatangan Rasulullah saw, sisi negatif yang melekat pada kota Madinah berubah menjadi positif. Persatuan merupakan kunci bagi kejayaan dan kesuksesan sebuah masyarakat yang heterogen. Saling menghormati dan membantu diantara masyarakat yang heterogen, akan melahirkan keuntungan dan menjauhkan kerugian bagi semua komponen dalam masyarakat yang heterogen tersebut, sebaliknya pengkhianatan dan pengingkaran atas sebuah kesepakatan dalam sebuah masyarakat yang heterogen, merupakan pintu masuk bagi tersingkirnya komunitas yang melakukan pengkhianatan dan pengingkaran tersebut.

To understand those two aspects, the aspect that makes al-Qur’an as a holy script that have miracles and the aspect that justify that al-Qur’an is from Allah swt, there is an important step so that we will not be entrapped in the ambiguity. In addition, there is a difference among the ulama (Islamic scholars) in formulating the aspects of miracle in al-Qur’an. This is a difference emerging at the early generation of Islamic development. Indonesia Solidarity Party (PSI), one of 2019 general election contestants, advocated poligamy re... more Indonesia Solidarity Party (PSI), one of 2019 general election contestants, advocated poligamy refusal during its campaign. As a religion whose teachings allow poligamy, Islam is often accused by many for tolerating and legalising unfair and discriminative practices against women. This paper endeavours to offer moderate exegesis on Qur’anic verses regarding poligamy from Muslim scholars. This paper also corrects the above accusation stating that Islam is a religion practising discrimination against women. Based on descriptive literature review on the scholars’ exegesis on the Qur’anic verses on poligamy, this paper argues that to some extent, Islam permits poligamy. However, it does not encourage let alone oblige Muslim to practice poligamy. Islam requires uneasy and strict conditions for Muslim who want to practice poligamy. Manusia merupakan makhluk ekonomi, merupakan keniscayaan terkandung pesan-pesan ekonomi dalam kisah Al Qur’an. Ditilik dari dimensi ekonomi, kisah Maryam yang diabadikan dalam Al-Qur’an memberikan pesan bahwasannya rezeki manusia merupakan hak preogratif Tuhan. Pasca kedatangan Rasulullah saw, sisi negatif yang melekat pada kota Madinah berubah menjadi positif. Persatuan merupakan kunci bagi kejayaan dan kesuksesan sebuah masyarakat yang heterogen. Saling menghormati dan membantu diantara masyarakat yang heterogen, akan melahirkan keuntungan dan menjauhkan kerugian bagi semua komponen dalam masyarakat yang heterogen tersebut, sebaliknya pengkhianatan dan pengingkaran atas sebuah kesepakatan dalam sebuah masyarakat yang heterogen, merupakan pintu masuk bagi tersingkirnya komunitas yang melakukan pengkhianatan dan pengingkaran tersebut.

As a religion whose teachings allow poligamy, Islam is often accused by many for tolerating and legalising unfair and discriminative practices against women. This paper endeavours to offer moderate exegesis on Qur’anic verses regarding poligamy from Muslim scholars. This paper also corrects the above accusation stating that Islam is a religion practising discrimination against women. Based on descriptive literature review on the scholars’ exegesis on the Qur’anic verses on poligamy, this paper argues that to some extent, Islam permits poligamy. However, it does not encourage let alone oblige Muslim to practice poligamy. Islam requires uneasy and strict conditions for Muslim who want to practice poligamy. Diantara tujuan dipaparkannya kisah dalam Al-Qur’an adalah agar kisah tersebut dapat dijadikan sebagai media untuk menyampaikan pesan-pesan Tuhan kepada manusia. Manusia merupakan makhluk ekonomi, merupakan keniscayaan terkandung pesan-pesan ekonomi dalam kisah Al Qur’an. Ditilik dari dimensi ekonomi, kisah Maryam yang diabadikan dalam Al-Qur’an memberikan pesan bahwasannya rezeki manusia merupakan hak preogratif Tuhan. Pesan yang dapat ditangkap dalam kisah Qarun yang diabadikan dalam Al-Qur’an, bahwasannya rezeki manusia merupakan anugerah Tuhan. Kisah kesederhanaan rasulullah saw selama hidupnya sebagaimana yang diabadikan dalam al-Qur’an, juga merupakan pesan yang semestinya ditauladani oleh segenap umat beliau.
