Bu makale, erkek faillerin aile içi şiddet müdahalelerine katılım aşamalarına ve koşullarına odak... more Bu makale, erkek faillerin aile içi şiddet müdahalelerine katılım aşamalarına ve koşullarına odaklanarak, katılımı anlamak için temel kuramsal açıklamalara ilişkin mevcut alanyazını gözden geçirmeyi hedeflemiştir. Bu alanyazın taraması, aile içi şiddet failleri programlarına katılanların şiddet içeren davranışlarını değiştirmedeki motivasyonel etkileri ve bakış açılarını kavramsallaştırarak kuramsal açıklamalara ilişkin görüşleri ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu makale, aile içi şiddet faillerinin müdahale hizmetlerine katılımın kuramsal açıklamalarını keşfetmek için eleştirel bakış açısıyla alanyazın taramasına başvurmuştur. Kuramsal kavramsallaştırmalarla ilgili çeşitli faktörler, farklı koşullar faillerin katılımını etkileyebilmektedir. Bu kuramların ve modellerin farkına varmak faillerin müdahalelere katılımlarının etkililiğini nasıl etkilediğini anlamamıza yardımcı olur. Bu makale, müdahale programlarında aile içi faillerin katılım sürecini anlamak için bütüncül bir çerçeve sağlamaya çalışmakta ve katılımı ve sonraki davranış değişikliğini artıracak yaklaşımları önermektedir.

Yoğun çalışma temposu kendilerine yeterli zaman ayıramamayı ve kendilerine karşı yetersiz öz-bakım davranışı sergilemelerine neden olur. Bu çalışmanın iki temel amacı vardır; sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının ikincil travma ve kaçınılmaz stres durumlarına nasıl hazırlandıklarını incelemek ve uzmanların öz bakım uygulamalarına etkileyen faktörlerin neler olduğunu araştırmaktır. Bu konuyu incelemek için öyküsel alan taraması tasarlanmıştır. Bu alan taramasına dahil edilme kriterini karşılayan 8 çalışma incelenmiştir. This research presents the examples and conceptual information about the process of working with gatekeepers based on the sensitive research topic. This paper draws on the first author’s own experiences and the emotional impact of undertaking such sensitive research where community leaders held patriarchal beliefs. It also argues that there are challenges in building trust and rapport with gatekeepers which are related to gender power relations; stigmatisation in the community; ideologies around masculinity and patriarchy. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı kadına yönelik şiddet vakalarında, baba-çocuk ve anne-çocuk etkileşimin... more Bu çalışmanın temel amacı kadına yönelik şiddet vakalarında, baba-çocuk ve anne-çocuk etkileşiminin nasıl daha güvenli bir hale getirebileceğine açıklık getirmek. Kadına yönelik şiddet vakaları sonrasında babanın çocuğuyla kurduğu ilişki ve etkileşim şekillerinin neler olduğunu keşfetmek olumlu ebeveyn davranışlarına sahip olup olmadıklarını anlamak için önemlidir. Bu derleme çalışmasında, aile içi şiddetin yaşandığı ailelerde nasıl güvenli çocuk ve ebeveyn etkileşimlerinin sağlanacağı incelenmiştir. Anne-baba destek eğitimlerinin uygulanmasının, olumlu ebeveyn becerisi geliştirmek için önemine dikkat çekilmiştir. Özellikle sosyal politika yapıcıların kadına yönelik şiddet olaylarında hem mağdurun hem de failin bu destek hizmetlerine katılımlarının zorunlu hale getirmesinin altı çizilmiştir. This article aims to investigate the key issues around translation in qualitative and sensitive research of the examination of the men’s engagement in domestic violence interventions in the UK. While many studies report on the importance of providing credibility to the meanings of the participants’ stories, there are limited studies that explore how researchers deal with difficulties and the techniques for translating the data. Tüm dünyada görülen ve biyolojik bir afet olarak kabul edilen koronavirüs salgını insanları biyol... more Tüm dünyada görülen ve biyolojik bir afet olarak kabul edilen koronavirüs salgını insanları biyolojik, psikolojik, sosyal ve ekonomik olarak etkilemiş bulunmaktadır. Özellikle bir arada yaşamak zorunda kalan bazı aile bireylerinin günlerce hep evin içinde birlikte kalması salgın sürecinde birtakım psikolojik ve ekonomik sorunların yaşanmasına veya tetiklenmesine neden olabilmektedir. Bu makale yaşanması muhtemel olan bu psikolojik ve sosyal sorunlara cevap verebilecek bir müdahale programı sunmayı hedeflemiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, koronavirüs ve bunun gibi afet süreçlerinin ailelere olan etkileri ve bu kişilere yönelik uygulanan koruyucu psikolojik müdahaleler ve eğitim programları dijital veri tabanlarında taranmıştır. Alanyazın tarama sonucuna göre, afet ve kriz gibi durumlarda ailelere yönelik etkinliği kanıtlanmış eğitim ve tedavi programlarının gelişmiş ülkelerde uygulandığı saptanmıştır. Türkiye'de böyle salgın gibi acil durumlarda uygulanan sistematik psikoeğitsel programların ve hizmetlerin yetersiz olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Yapılan alanyazın taraması ve incelenen eğitim programları doğrultusunda, salgın sürecinde ve sonrasında etkilenen ailelerin ruh sağlığını korumak ve ailelerle çalışan ruh sağlığı uzmanlarına yardımcı olmak için, aile sistemleri ve travma bilgisine dayalı online olarak da uygulanabilecek bir aile-odaklı bir eğitim modeli önerisi sunulmuştur. Bu model bireylerdeki stres, kaygı gibi belirtileri azaltarak, aile içi uyum ve sağlıklı iletişim becerilerini geliştirmeyi hedeflemiştir.

Objectives: This study aims to test the validity and reliability of the Vaccine Hesitancy Scale (... more Objectives: This study aims to test the validity and reliability of the Vaccine Hesitancy Scale (VHS) developed by Larson for Turkish society due to the limited measures of vaccine hesitancy studies in Turkey. This scale can help advance research and vaccination policy for human well-being. Methods: Two hundred fourty-six participants completed the first questionnaire in Turkish between September and October 2020. The sample of the study was determined to consider the number of items on the 9-item scale is more than 27 times. The retest was used to test the validity of the scale in the study. Results: The ratio of the scale to chi-square degrees of freedom is 2.29. This can be considered as a sufficient fit. As a result of the first level Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), the values of the goodness of fit suggested that the two-factor model can be considered compatible with the data. The Cronbach's alpha of the total items of the scale is = .801. Factor 1 which was the 'lack of confidence' of Cronbach's alpha was 0.904. Factor 2 that was the 'risks' was 0.742. The reliability and validity of the VHS analysis revealed a two-factor structure with construct and criterion validity to detect vaccine hesitancy. Conclusions: VHS is recommended to be used as a data collection tool in health care services to detect the level of vaccine hesitancy among the public. The adaptation of VHS into the Turkish language can help health care providers and immunization policy makers to improve effective approaches by focusing on the individuals' confidence in vaccination.

Objective: This study examines the factors associated with the willingness to get the coronavirus... more Objective: This study examines the factors associated with the willingness to get the coronavirus vaccine among individuals aged 18 and above. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Turkey. The participants aged 18 and older were recruited between December, 2020 and January, 2021 through conventional social media sites. Snowball sampling was used. An anonymous questionnaire consisted of demographics, vaccination experiences, and perceived risk of coronavirus disease. Results: 1202 women and 651 men were included in the data analysis. Findings showed that demographics, vaccination experience, and perceived risk of getting COVID-19 were explained. 37% of the variance in people’s willingness to get the COVID-19 vaccination was according to hierarchical logistic regression. It investigates how key circumstances related to Turkish men’s cultural backgrounds, migration status, racialisation and different interactions with facilitators shape their engagement in interventions. The data was collected from semi-structured interviews with Turkish perpetrators who participated in domestic violence interventions and professionals who worked with Turkish men in these interventions. Participants’ social and cultural background, class, gendered power relations and racialisation affected their active engagement in interventions. This study explores the mediating role of health literacy on the association between health care ... more This study explores the mediating role of health literacy on the association between health care system distrust and vaccine hesitancy. An online survey including Personal Information Form, Health Care System Distrust Scale, Vaccine Hesitancy Scale, and Health Literacy Scale were applied to 620 participants. The degree of applying mask-wearing, hygiene rule and physical distance, and the level of COVID-19 vaccine literacy were modeled with hierarchical multiple regression analysis to have a deeper analysis of participants' actions towards COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. It was found that health care system distrust and health literacy were the most important variables that had an impact on vaccine hesitancy. Based on the mediation analysis, the total effect of health care system distrust on vaccine hesitancy was statistically significant. Participants who held a low level of health literacy and a high perception of the health care system distrust experienced more vaccine hesitancy. The findings suggested the health literacy mediated the relationship between health care system distrust and vaccine hesitancy. Health authorities need to consider the dynamic and complex factors around the health care system distrust and health literacy to reduce vaccine hesitancy during COVID-19.

Research on the effectiveness of domestic violence perpetrator interventions, where perpetrators ... more Research on the effectiveness of domestic violence perpetrator interventions, where perpetrators are challenged to apply non-violent behavior and develop a healthy intimate relationship, is uneven and often inconsistent. Effective and accurate methodological tools and approaches can provide a better understanding of how the program providers offer successful practices to perpetrators of domestic violence. The goal of this chapter is to discuss the potential benefits of the grounded theory approach in a qualitative inquiry that might reduce methodological challenges in the examination of the process of men taking responsibility in interventions. This chapter contributes to the debate about the best way to examine perpetrators' behavioral change processes and identifies the benefits of implementing the grounded theory approach and reflexivity.

Aile içi şiddete yönelik müdahale hizmetlerinde farklı teknikler ve yaklaşımlar kullanılmaktadır. Bu yaklaşımların şiddeti sonlandırmada ne kadar etkili olduğu konusunda gelişmiş ülkelerdeki çalışmaları incelemek, Türkiye'de aile içi şiddetle mücadeleyi güçlü bir yapıya ulaştırmada yardımcı olabilir. Bu çalışma kapsamlı ve sistematik olarak farklı yaklaşımların faillerin karakteristik özelliklerine ve ihtiyaçlarına göre bir arada verilmesinin önemini vurgulamaktadır. Mevcut makalenin ana amacı şiddet faillerinin şiddet davranışlarını durdurmak için, bütüncül ve çoklu yaklaşımların bir arada uygulanmasına dikkat çekmektir. Özellikle aile içi şiddet faillerinin tedavisinde başvurulan bilişsel davranışçı yaklaşımların, motivasyona dayalı tekniklerin ve kültüre duyarlı yaklaşımların bir arada kullanılmasının müdahalenin etkinliğini artırabileceği önerilmektedir. Bu makale aile içi şiddet müdahalesinde şiddet failleri ile çalışan uzmanlara başvuracakları teknikler ve kuramlar konusunda ışık tutmayı ve bilim insanlarının bu konuda daha kapsamlı araştırmalara yönelmesine yardımcı olmayı umut etmektedir.

Synthesizing the knowledge of safe father–child interactions in post–domestic violence incidents and positive fathering skills is the major goal of this review. It also aims to identify the available literature on key factors and conditions around child adjustment following intimate partner violence incidents. In order to achieve these goals, this article applied a narrative style literature review. Electronic databases and websites of children’s social services and domestic violence interventions were searched, and 12 research studies met the criteria for the review. The synthesis of the literature suggests that improving custody workers’ knowledge of intimate partner violence and developing father’s parenting practices during interventions are essential in achieving the safety of father–child interactions. Özellikle bir arada yaşamak zorunda kalan bazı aile bireylerinin günlerce hep evin içinde birlikte kalması salgın sürecinde birtakım psikolojik ve ekonomik sorunların yaşanmasına veya tetiklenmesine neden olabilmektedir. Bu makale yaşanması muhtemel olan bu psikolojik ve sosyal sorunlara cevap verebilecek bir müdahale programı sunmayı hedeflemiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, koronavirüs ve bunun gibi afet süreçlerinin ailelere olan etkileri ve bu kişilere yönelik uygulanan koruyucu psikolojik müdahaleler ve eğitim programları dijital veri tabanlarında taranmıştır. Alanyazın tarama sonucuna göre, afet ve kriz gibi durumlarda ailelere yönelik etkinliği kanıtlanmış eğitim ve tedavi programlarının gelişmiş ülkelerde uygulandığı saptanmıştır. Türkiye'de böyle salgın gibi acil durumlarda uygulanan sistematik psikoeğitsel programların ve hizmetlerin yetersiz olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Yapılan alanyazın taraması ve incelenen eğitim programları doğrultusunda, salgın sürecinde ve sonrasında etkilenen ailelerin ruh sağlığını korumak ve ailelerle çalışan ruh sağlığı uzmanlarına yardımcı olmak için, aile sistemleri ve travma bilgisine dayalı online olarak da uygulanabilecek bir aile-odaklı bir eğitim modeli önerisi sunulmuştur. Bu model bireylerdeki stres, kaygı gibi belirtileri azaltarak, aile içi uyum ve sağlıklı iletişim becerilerini geliştirmeyi hedeflemiştir.

Objectives: This study aims to test the validity and reliability of the Vaccine Hesitancy Scale (... more Objectives: This study aims to test the validity and reliability of the Vaccine Hesitancy Scale (VHS) developed by Larson for Turkish society due to the limited measures of vaccine hesitancy studies in Turkey. This scale can help advance research and vaccination policy for human well-being. Methods: Two hundred fourty-six participants completed the first questionnaire in Turkish between September and October 2020. The sample of the study was determined to consider the number of items on the 9-item scale is more than 27 times. The retest was used to test the validity of the scale in the study. Results: The ratio of the scale to chi-square degrees of freedom is 2.29. This can be considered as a sufficient fit. As a result of the first level Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), the values of the goodness of fit suggested that the two-factor model can be considered compatible with the data. The Cronbach's alpha of the total items of the scale is = .801. Factor 1 which was the 'lack of confidence' of Cronbach's alpha was 0.904. Factor 2 that was the 'risks' was 0.742. The reliability and validity of the VHS analysis revealed a two-factor structure with construct and criterion validity to detect vaccine hesitancy. Conclusions: VHS is recommended to be used as a data collection tool in health care services to detect the level of vaccine hesitancy among the public. The adaptation of VHS into the Turkish language can help health care providers and immunization policy makers to improve effective approaches by focusing on the individuals' confidence in vaccination.

Snowball sampling was used. An anonymous questionnaire consisted of demographics, vaccination experiences, and perceived risk of coronavirus disease. This study explores the mediating role of health literacy on the association between health care ... more This study explores the mediating role of health literacy on the association between health care system distrust and vaccine hesitancy. An online survey including Personal Information Form, Health Care System Distrust Scale, Vaccine Hesitancy Scale, and Health Literacy Scale were applied to 620 participants. The degree of applying mask-wearing, hygiene rule and physical distance, and the level of COVID-19 vaccine literacy were modeled with hierarchical multiple regression analysis to have a deeper analysis of participants' actions towards COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. It was found that health care system distrust and health literacy were the most important variables that had an impact on vaccine hesitancy. Based on the mediation analysis, the total effect of health care system distrust on vaccine hesitancy was statistically significant. Participants who held a low level of health literacy and a high perception of the health care system distrust experienced more vaccine hesitancy. The findings suggested the health literacy mediated the relationship between health care system distrust and vaccine hesitancy. Health authorities need to consider the dynamic and complex factors around the health care system distrust and health literacy to reduce vaccine hesitancy during COVID-19.

Effective and accurate methodological tools and approaches can provide a better understanding of how the program providers offer successful practices to perpetrators of domestic violence. The goal of this chapter is to discuss the potential benefits of the grounded theory approach in a qualitative inquiry that might reduce methodological challenges in the examination of the process of men taking responsibility in interventions. This chapter contributes to the debate about the best way to examine perpetrators' behavioral change processes and identifies the benefits of implementing the grounded theory approach and reflexivity.

Aile içi şiddete yönelik müdahale hizmetlerinde farklı teknikler ve yaklaşımlar kullanılmaktadır. Bu yaklaşımların şiddeti sonlandırmada ne kadar etkili olduğu konusunda gelişmiş ülkelerdeki çalışmaları incelemek, Türkiye'de aile içi şiddetle mücadeleyi güçlü bir yapıya ulaştırmada yardımcı olabilir. Bu çalışma kapsamlı ve sistematik olarak farklı yaklaşımların faillerin karakteristik özelliklerine ve ihtiyaçlarına göre bir arada verilmesinin önemini vurgulamaktadır. Mevcut makalenin ana amacı şiddet faillerinin şiddet davranışlarını durdurmak için, bütüncül ve çoklu yaklaşımların bir arada uygulanmasına dikkat çekmektir.
