In this paper we integrate the two technologies into the field of GIS for the semantic interoperability of the geographic information. First, we build geographic data ontology and geographic function ontology to represent geographic data and geographic functions since we consider GIS as an organic system composed of geographic data and kinds of functions related to space such as space query and space analysis and so on. Second, we present how to wrap geographic data with geo-data ontology and how to describe the geographic function with geofunction ontology. Third, we introduce an architecture which composed of Semantic Registration, Consumer Service Center and Semantic Matchmaker for ontology-based geographic information semantic grid services. Finally, we analyze future work need to do for geographic information semantic interoperability.

Many researchers have tried to develop segmentation methods including edge-based segmentation, surface-based segmentation and color-based segmentation, and so on. In this paper, we present a point data segmentation method based on normal vector estimation and color clustering. The main workflow of this method is made by calculating point normal vector, transforming vector into color, clustering color point and segmenting the raw points set at last. The proposed method combined the advantage of geo-metrical segmentation and color-metrical segmentation. It has been applied to LiDAR point data obtained by ALS (airborne laser scanner), the experiment result show that the segmentation method is promising.

This paper using virtual reality technology, constructed the 3d scene of urban architectures. And the simulation system provides the intuitive, convenient analysis tools and methods for visual analysis. Some vision quantitative issues about geometry space and color space of architectural landscape were elaborated. Based on the study of some factors and basis of quantitative analysis, some visual analysis models were established for visual evaluation of architectural landscape. The analysis models were integrated into the simulation software system, so as to realize the 3d visualization of visual quantitative analysis. Considering the influence of planning control factors, at the end this paper put forward a comprehensive evaluation method of architectural landscape visual analysis.

However, the data redundancy has become a practical issue, which makes planners difficult to derive required data effectively from a large amount of data from UGIS databases. Based on comparison of the planning support system (PSS) with other UGIS, requirements of planning support based on GIS is discussed. Aiming at providing effective data and methods for urban planning, the paper explored GIS-based approaches for planning support in which spatial analysis played an important role and put forward a technological model to analyze urban problems in a dynamic environment to provide ideas and hints for further development of urban planning theories and practice.

In the past thirty years, as one of spatial data sources, remote sensing datasets, which contain more information of earth surface as compared with usual urban maps, have been used in urban planning and management in China.
