The aim of this paper constitutes analysis of eddy currents induced in a system of two parallel t... more The aim of this paper constitutes analysis of eddy currents induced in a system of two parallel tubular conductors by a transverse alternating magnetic field generated by a current in one of them. The magnetic field is expressed via vector magnetic potential as Fourier series. Using the Laplace and Helmholtz equations as well as the classical boundary conditions we determine analytically the current density induced due to the proximity effect. Though the paper is theoretical, nevertheless high current bus ducts or gas insulated lines (GILs) with tubular conductors are universally used. Therefore, the extent of potential applications is wide. So the considered problem has a practical significance.

─ The paper presents a method of analysis of eddy currents induced in a system of two parallel ro... more ─ The paper presents a method of analysis of eddy currents induced in a system of two parallel round conductors by a transverse alternating magnetic field generated by a current in one of them. The magnetic field is represented by means of magnetic vector potential as expansion into Fourier series. Using the Laplace and Helmholtz equations as well as the classical boundary conditions we determine analytically the current density induced due to the proximity effect. Power transmission lines with round conductors are widely used in distribution networks. Therefore, although the paper is theoretical, the determination of electromagnetic parameters of the power transmission lines is of huge practical significance. This phenomenon has been described with the formulas relevant to the relative values of the field and the parameters allowing the frequency, conductivity, and the cross-section dimensions of conductors. Into account was taken skin and proximity effects.

This paper describes an analytical-numerical method for the skin and proximity effects in a syste... more This paper describes an analytical-numerical method for the skin and proximity effects in a system of two parallel conductors of circular cross section—a system very frequently encountered in various applications. The magnetic field generated by the current applied on each conductor is expressed by means of vector magnetic potential and expanded into Fourier series. Using the Laplace and Helmholtz equations, as well as the classical boundary conditions, the current density induced due to the proximity and skin effect is determined in each conductor. The resulting current density is expressed as a series of successive reactions. The results obtained are compared with those obtained via finite elements. Although the paper is theoretical, the considered problem has a practical significance, because transmission lines with round conductors are universally used. Knowledge of the relations between electrodynamics and constructional parameters is necessary in the optimization construction process of the high current busducts. Information about distribution electromagnetic field and power losses is a base into analysis of electrodynamics and thermal effects in the high current busducts. In the paper using the Poynting theorem and Jolule-Lenz law the active and reactive power in the screens of the symmetrical high current busduct were determined. Multi-variant calculations of current density distributions were performed. The paper deals with the distribution of current density only for the power source frequency of 9835 Hz. Knowledge of current density distribution is the key to designate the input impedance of the heater, which is strongly influenced by the parameters of the power source. Streszczenie. W pracy przedstawiono model nagrzewnicy indukcyjnej zaimplementowany w programie FLUX 3D. Wykonano obliczenia rozkladu gestości prądu w programie FLUX 3D metodą elementow skonczonych.
