Which one is superior to the ATI strategy in the discovery learning model and the discovery learning model in terms of the ability to understand mathematical concepts and students’ self-confidence. This type of research was a quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population was all students of class X at a senior high school in East Sumba district. Two classes as samples were chosen randomly. Descriptive statistical data analysis was carried out, then it continued with testing hypotheses using the Manova test. The results showed that there was an effect of the ATI strategy in the discovery learning model on the ability to understand mathematical concepts and students’ self-confidence. The value of IET’s critical thinking skills lies in the cultural excellence of the knowledge and professionalism that it presents. Currently, influence of western line of thought, which monopolises secular education system if not beware can be harmful to Muslims’ faith. The Quranic and Sunnah-based knowledge, and competency based on different skills among IETs, can consequently impact defensively on students’ own thinking process. It is crucial for Islamic Education Teachers (IET) to foster generations of students who are not only highly skilled, but able to perform collaborative critical-thinking. Additionally, they must exhibit high creativity and competency as communicators with equally high emotional well-being, IET have to implement measures by adopting diversity of skills and teaching aids to promote Teaching and Facilitation (T&F) in the 21st century. The paper used oral tradition as the dominant source due to the absence, or lack of related literature. However, available written documents on the origin and linguistic classification of the Mumuye as well as the background history of the areas under study was equally used. It is for much the same reason that the first revelation sent to the noble Prophet (P.B.U.H) when he was at the cave of Hira was strictly on the preponderance of learning and scholarship which form the co-values of education in the shape of filobiblia (love for books) and filoscience (love for knowledge). The purpose of education in Islam is to produce a good human being (al-insān al-āli), who is capable of delivering his duties as a servant of Allāh (abdullāh) and His vicegerent (khalīfah) on earth. For this simple reason, this paper systematically assesses the major contribution of Sheikh Ja'afar Mahmud Adam in the development and dissemination of the light of Islamic education in Kano. This includes his giant stand as Da'i and as a community educator in his attempt to create a morally sound community capable of differentiating between good and bad, right and wrong, accepted and the condemned. The paper uses historical, qualitative and quantitative approaches so as to achieve a sense of originality. The paper found out that Sheikh Ja'afar contributed immensely to the development of education among his people especially through teaching and public lectures.

The research employed interviews and content analysis to gather and examine data. The main focus of the paper revolved around the concept, history, and challenges of da'wah in Taraba State. The paper establishes that Islam began to spread in various communities of Taraba State during the 18th to early 19th centuries. The paper reveals that the slower rate of conversion to Islam among several tribes in the state can be attributed to the ineffective approaches of early Islamic agents and the acceptance and practice of the religion based on observation rather than deep knowledge. Furthermore, the study identifies three major challenges to da'wah in Taraba State: apostasy (riddah), Fulani-Christian evangelism, and the emergence of the brotherhood (a Christ-Islam movement). In light of these findings, the paper recommends the establishment of da'wah institutions or faculties as part of Islamic Universities. It emphasizes that Islamic Universities should take a leading role in instilling the spirit and techniques of propagating Islam to people worldwide.

Through the use of interviews and content analyses data were collected and examined. The focal point of the paper centered on the concept, history and challenges of daʼwah in Taraba State. The paper establishes that Islam penetrated into various communities of Taraba State around 18 th to first decade of the 19 th centuries in contrast to Christianity whose date of arrival was around the first decade of the 20 th century. Despite at least a century difference between the advent of the former to the latter, Taraba State seem to be of Christianity than Islam. However, the paper discovers that the success of Christianity has been attributed to the techniques adopted by the Christian missionaries that include establishment of schools and health centers as well as commitment by its agents. The delay in wide conversion to Islam among several tribes of the State lies on the faulty approach of the early agents of Islamization on one hand and the acceptance/practice of the religion by many through observations instead of knowledge on the other hand. In addition, the work identified Riddah (Apostasy), Fulani-Christian evangelism and the emergence of Imaniyyah brotherhood (Christ-Islam movement)
