Module development is one of the efforts to increase students' independence in learning. Rese... more Module development is one of the efforts to increase students' independence in learning. Research objectives: (1) module development; (2) module feasibility; (3) student learning outcomes on the material for periodic maintenance of the water cooling system. The type of research is Research and Development. The instruments used were observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include: media and material expert validation, percentage qualitative analysis, and t-test analysis. The results of the study show that: (1) module development makes students more active and learn independently, 2) validation results from module development are very suitable, obtained material expert validation values of 94.16% and 95.55%, and validation values from experts media by 93.78% and 92.42%. 3) student learning outcomes have increased as evidenced by the score obtained by the experimental class of 94.6%.

Sistem wiper konvensional saat ini masih sepenuhnya dikendalikan secara manual oleh pengemudi unt... more Sistem wiper konvensional saat ini masih sepenuhnya dikendalikan secara manual oleh pengemudi untuk mengatur kecepatan wiper berdasarkan intensitas air di kaca kendaraan. Salah satu inovasi yang dapat membantu pengemudi untuk lebih nyaman berkendara yaitu dengan menambahkan mode otomatis pada sistem wiper. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu membuat sistem wiper untuk kendaraan ringan yang lebih praktis dan menguji kelayakan nya.Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimental design dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa angket yang memiliki dua aspek yaitu ergonomi dan teknis, dengan hasil dari uji kelayakan mencapai 92% untuk aspek ergonomi dan 92% untuk aspek teknis. Berdasarkan hasil uji kelayakan dua aspek tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem wiper otomatis ini termasuk kategori sangat layak berdasarkan kategori dari 92% sistem wiper ini dirancang untuk mempermudah pengemudi, dan pengujian kinerja sudah mencapai semua pengkondisian wiper

Fatigue failure occurring at a material in the dynamic loads is very dangerous because it is happ... more Fatigue failure occurring at a material in the dynamic loads is very dangerous because it is happen without initial guidance, fatigue testing to predict the life of use need to be done. This study focused on AISI 316L stainless steel which is used in industries because it’s mechanical properties, weldability, corrosion resistance and good machining. Fatigue testing are based on ASTM E466 and E468 standard in laboratory’s environmental by using fatigue testing machine rotary bending type. The results of fatigue testing present in S-N curve, it showed that the endurance limit of stress 277 MPa at 2870667 cycles. For comparison, from the simulasi carried out, the stress is 258 MPa at 2870667 cycles. In terms fatigue life, the material is categorized in the high cycles and fracture pattern is low stress

Related to the importance of selectivity to natural fibers that can be used and qualify as one of... more Related to the importance of selectivity to natural fibers that can be used and qualify as one of the raw material composite engineering substitute for Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRP) or Fiber Reinforced Metals (FRM), one plants that have the potential of fiber and volume growth is very abundant, namely abaca. This research aims to clarify scattering in tensile strength of an abaca single fiber through statistical approach and to search a way of suppression in the scatter with intention that abaca fibers can be used as a raw material for engineering structural components. Tensile test specimens were prepared from fiber samples from two different areas, East Aceh and North Aceh, Indonesia. Specimen gauge length is 25 mm, then as the holder of a fiber made of paper (20mm x 100mm), where the specimen size for fiber tensile test in accordance with JIS standard K-760. Diameter the specimen fibers obtained varied from 0.060 mm to 0.140 mm. The tensile strength of abaca fiber varies in the wide range from 100 MPa to 900 MPa. Coefficient of variation was calculated for East Aceh abaca fibre 0.32 and North Aceh abaca fibre 0.35. It was examined whether Weibull distribution or log-normal distribution could well express scatted experimental results. The results showed that both the distribution types could well express the experimental probabilty density, but log-normal distribution could be more rational for expression of biologial and chronological effects. To reduce scattering of tensile strength, pre-screening concept was proposed.

Saat ini komposit serat alam (green material) patut dipertimbangkan menjadi material yang sangat berpotensi untuk mensubstitusi komposit serat sintetis sebagai material teknik. Serat alam mempunyai kekurangan karena mempunyai scatter sifat mekanik yang sangat besar. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi kekurangan tersebut adalah melalui pemilihan proses manufaktur (fabrikasi) komposit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat prototype komposit plastik berpenguat serat abaca (AFRP) menggunakan metode Vakum (Vacum Assested Resin Infusion (VARI)). Semua spesimen dilakukan postcure pada suhu 800 C selama 2 jam. Sifat mekanik dari komposit dievaluasi uji tariknya.
