Nowadays, there is a large amount of data growth at all organizational scales. To find useful inf... more Nowadays, there is a large amount of data growth at all organizational scales. To find useful information, the right data mining technique needs to be used. One of the popular techniques is called the equivalence class transformation (Eclat) algorithm which is gaining the benefits of the vertical data format used in the association rule mining technique. However, like horizontal data representation, vertical data still suffering from huge memory consumption. The technique then has been extended by using the Incremental Eclat (i-Eclat) algorithm which is embedded with the incremental approach. Inspired by the dynamic data transactions in a database, a new algorithm has been adopted to optimize the performance of the current algorithm called the Fast Incremental (Fi-Eclat) algorithm. The research proposes an optimization of the performance of the i-Eclat algorithm. It relies on the incremental approach implemented on the database that consists of five (5) benchmark datasets from Frequent Itemset Mining (FIMI). The outcome of the experiment indicates an improvement of 32% in time execution for the proposed algorithm.

However, mining association rule may require repetitious scanning of large databases that leads to the high memory usage and affects the running time. Rare Equivalence Class Transformation (R-Eclat) algorithm is specifically design for infrequent itemset mining. In response to the promising results of mining in speedy processing time and taking consideration of dynamic transaction of data in a database, a new incremental approach is introduced called Incremental R-Eclat (IR-Eclat). This model adopted via relational database engine management system; My Structured Query Language (MySQL) serves as a database engine for testing benchmark datasets. The experimental results on several benchmark datasets indicate that Incremental R-Eclat outperforms the R-Eclat by reducing its running time to process especially in dynamic database as the data is increasing in volume from time to time.

The mining of concealed information from databases using Association Rule Mining seems to be prom... more The mining of concealed information from databases using Association Rule Mining seems to be promising. The successful extraction of this information will give a hand to many areas by aiding them in the process of finding solutions, economic projecting, commercialization policies, medical inspections, and numbers of other problems. ARM is the most outstanding method in the mining of remarkable related configurations from any groups of information. The important patterns encountered are categorized as recurrent/frequent and non-recurrent/infrequent. Most of the previous data mining methods concentrated on horizontal data setups. Nevertheless, recent studies have shown that vertical data formats are becoming the main concerns. One example of vertical data format is Rare Equivalence Class Transformation (R-Eclat). Due to its efficacy, R-Eclat algorithms have been commonly applied for the processing of large datasets. The R-Eclat algorithm is actually comprised of four types of variants. However, our work will only focus on the R-Diffset variant and Incremental R-Diffset (IR-Diffset). The performance analysis of the R-Diffset and IR-Diffset algorithms in the mining of sparse and dense data are compared. The processing time for R-Diffset algorithm, especially for sequential processing is very long. Thus, the incremental R-Diffset (IR-Diffset) has been established to solve this problem. While R-Diffset may only process the nonrecurrent itemsets mining process in sequential form, IR-Diffset on the other hand has the capability to execute sequential data that have been fractionated. The advantages of this newly developed IR-Diffset may become a potential candidate in providing a time-efficient data mining process, especially those involving the large sets of data.

The interaction of data from one application system to another application system requires an intermediary software or middleware that allows the data to be transferred or read systematically and easily. The development of dynamic algorithms allows data in various formats, whether structured or unstructured, to be transferred to various types of databases smoothly. A case study was conducted for the Bill of Quantity (BQ) data in the known Excel format generated through CostX software in a single sheet Excel file. It was transferred to a single workbook with multiple sheets with formulation generated automatically. Thus, an algorithm was developed and tested through the development of the J-Selaras System. This algorithm can remove the noisy data or data symbols that are not related in the excel single sheet (CostX) file and automatically transfer to multiple excel sheets with macros formulation quickly. The implementation results indicate a significant contribution where it reduces in execution time of BQ processes and manpower resources used.

The traditional physical and face-to-face meetings are avoided in accordance to reducing the close physical contacts among individuals. Thus, a new paradigm shift towards teaching and learning needs to be highly enforced. Teaching and learning on medical field especially require for real world anatomy against human or living things body. In response to providing the facility for medical teachers and learners, Gross Anatomy Augmented Reality (GAAR) is introduced. GAAR is an android mobile Augmented Reality (AR) learning tool to assist the educators and learners in internalizing 3D human anatomy with more fun and interactivity. The AR methodology is implied to attract the personal impacts and feelings towards operating of close to 'real' organ during anatomy practices. Traditional learning methods are changed with AR technology through small digital device. This application may be able to show the students the actual form of human gross anatomy and assist the teachers or educators' in explaining the sciences behind human body in more interactive and interesting. Furthermore, this application uses a 3-dimensional object, video and interactive info so that students are interested in using this application. The AR for education and learning is vital in bridging the digital divide among all generations through the conversion of static pictures into real-like 3D animation. The implementation results show that, through the real visualization, small to adult learners can imitate the real truth on human organ and how this can motivate them to take care of their bodies that would lead to a healthier living styles as well as easy memorizing of the subject contents.

Aedes aegypti mosquito species are an important vector of many viruses including dengue and Zika.... more Aedes aegypti mosquito species are an important vector of many viruses including dengue and Zika. Preventing or reducing the virus transmission depends entirely on controlling the mosquito vectors. To facilitate a vector control operation, a new image processing tool is developed for counting Aedes eggs so that fecundity estimation can be done automatically replacing the manual counting that requires a lot of efforts and time-consuming. The proposed tool is based on Gabor wavelets to produce a response map that can ease the thresholding process. We test the proposed tool of Aedes eggs counting by comparing with ICount and EggCounter which is freely available on the Internet. The results showed that the proposed method is promising for a reliable estimation of Aedes eggs.

The traditional physical and face-to-face meetings are avoided in accordance to reducing the close physical contacts among individuals. Thus, a new paradigm shift towards teaching and learning needs to be highly enforced. Teaching and learning on medical field especially require for real world anatomy against human or living things body. In response to providing the facility for medical teachers and learners, Gross Anatomy Augmented Reality (GAAR) is introduced. GAAR is an android mobile Augmented Reality (AR) learning tool to assist the educators and learners in internalizing 3D human anatomy with more fun and interactivity. The AR methodology is implied to attract the personal impacts and feelings towards operating of close to 'real' organ during anatomy practices. Traditional learning methods are changed with AR technology through small digital device. This application may be able to show the students the actual form of human gross anatomy and assist the teachers or educators' in explaining the sciences behind human body in more interactive and interesting. Furthermore, this application uses a 3-dimensional object, video and interactive info so that students are interested in using this application. The AR for education and learning is vital in bridging the digital divide among all generations through the conversion of static pictures into real-like 3D animation. The implementation results show that, through the real visualization, small to adult learners can imitate the real truth on human organ and how this can motivate them to take care of their bodies that would lead to a healthier living styles as well as easy memorizing of the subject contents.

Finding infrequent patterns plays an essential role in mining associations, correlations and many other interesting relationships among data. As infrequent pattern mining has not been well explored, there is still some fundamental theory that needs to be established especially using ECLAT algorithm. In this paper, we have proposed R-ECLAT algorithms for finding infrequent patterns with the purpose of discovering on how these algorithms can be used to obtain infrequent patterns in a large dataset.

Preventing or reducing the virus transmission depends entirely on controlling the mosquito vectors. To facilitate a vector control operation, a new image processing tool is developed for counting Aedes eggs so that fecundity estimation can be done automatically replacing the manual counting that requires a lot of efforts and time-consuming. The proposed tool is based on Gabor wavelets to produce a response map that can ease the thresholding process. We test the proposed tool of Aedes eggs counting by comparing with ICount and EggCounter which is freely available on the Internet. The results showed that the proposed method is promising for a reliable estimation of Aedes eggs.
