It is intended to be used for rails maintenance or response times during train derailments and for accessing inaccessible areas via rails in emergency situations. A hi-rail vehicle can travel both on rails and roads. The guide train steel wheels set is designed to have steel wheels running on rails with the vehicle being raised above the rails using a programmable logic controller for hydraulic cylinders. The results of the road test can run at a normal speed of not more than 90 kilometers per hour. The results of the test run on the rails can run at speed of not more than 30 kilometers per hour. There is a vibration of the hi-rail vehicle due to the designed guide train steel wheels set mechanism that can be accepted.

Its role is to balance energy consumption and distribution. Smart devices integration results in a huge data exchange between different parts of the smart grid causing a delay in the response and processing time. To overcome this latency issue, the cloud computing has been proposed. However, cloud computing does not perform well when there are large distances from the cloud to the consumers. Fog computing solves this issue. In this paper, a cloud-fog computing system is presented to achieve an accurate load balancing. The hybridization of whale optimization algorithm with bat algorithm (WOA-BAT) is proposed for load balancing. The model performance is compared to state of art load balancing techniques as throttled, round robin, whale and particle swarm optimization algorithms in terms of processing and the response time. The results reveal that the proposed WOA-BAT has better results in terms of response time than the ...

As data become larger, latency and reliability requirements for different smart grid applications vary widely and are not easily obtainable to practitioners. In this work, data transfer enhancement in wide area monitoring (WAMS) applications is addressed. The improvement is done using optimization of PMU reporting rate which is fixed in the standardized WAMS operation. The reporting rate is considered as a variable parameter that needs to be optimized for the enhancement of the system performance. The results reveal that this factor affects the operation of the WAMS and can be exploited to improve the overall system performance. The standards must take into account the variable nature of this parameter and should make it tunable by the users.

Data will flow over generation, transmission, distribution, and user networks in the SG. The amount of data generated by smart devices will experience explosive growth in the future. This tremendous data amount places considerable load on the communications infrastructure of the SG. This paper highlights a review on the smart grid focusing on the communication infrastructure and the data issues. A scan of the most contributions relevant to the topic is presented. The key opportunities and challenges of the communication part of the smart grid are presented for further research.
