Objectives: The objective of this study is to determine the fluoride content of toothpastes marketed in Indonesia and to determine if the fluoride content is in accordance with the information provided on the packaging and following the standards from evidence-based dentistry and Indonesian regulations. Material and methods: In vitro analysis of total fluoride (TF) in 10 brands of toothpaste for adults and eight for children, purchased from different stores. The toothpastes were analysed in triplicate using a fluoride ion-selective electrode. Statistical analyses were performed using a one-sample t-test or one-sample Wilcoxon signed-rank test to compare the difference between the fluoride concentration stated on the tube and the measured value. Results: The TF concentration in toothpastes for adults and children did not match the fluoride content provided on the packaging for most samples. Eleven toothpaste brands contained fluoride > 1000 ppm F, whereas the others contained fluoride < 1000 ppm F. Only one toothpaste contained fluoride that matched the standard from evidence-based dentistry and Indonesian regulations. Conclusions: Most toothpastes for adults marketed in Indonesia do not meet the required fluoride concentration for caries control. The results call for strengthened regulation and quality control of fluoride toothpaste in Indonesia to provide the maximum anti-caries effect.

The area is mainly consisted of Permian and Jurassic rocks and known for its well-preserved fossils, where the occurrence of this fossils could demonstrate the massive extinction of Permian Age. Despite numerous studies on fossils of Mengkarang area have been published, only a few petrographical studies conducted on Mengkarang area. Such study is important in the future to better determine the petrotectonic setting of the Mengkarang area. We collected several igneous, volcaniclastic, and sedimentary rock samples from various rock formations in the study area. By combining the field observation and petrographic analyses, we made several assumptions that can link Mengkarang rocks to the Paleozoic-Mesozoic volcanic activity and deformation. The vitric tuff displays flow banding and welded features. Some of the petrographic samples show low-moderate argillic to intense propylitic alteration that related to volcanic activity, with several deformation evidence. Other samples show biotite minerals that altered to chlorite and deformed by the formational compaction. Furthermore, the rocks in the southern part of the Mengkarang area generally experienced stronger deformation compared to another part of the study area.

The city itself has residual spaces that are considered non-functional. Supported by factors such as the need for space and an attachment to the space itself, residual space has the possibility to be appropriated (taken over) by the city dwellers. One of residual spaces within the city is an unused riverfront. The city of Jakarta is bypassed by the Ciliwung River. In the Dutch colonial era, there was an increase of immigrants consisting of laborers and hired workers who needed shelter, resulting in slums or river-side settlements, as the river are the only source of clean water for villages that do not have adequate facilities. The Ciliwung River was then used as a sewer, which prompted the government to erect fences on the banks of the Ciliwung River, creating residual spaces on the banks of the Ciliwung River. Although the river is viewed as residual space for other city dwellers, a section of Ciliwung is appropriated by a number of villagers in the Cikini area. By observing the appropriation activity as an alteration resulting in the transformation of a residual space, it will show the potential of the residual space itself and the emergence of functionality in the residual space

Van Hiele explained that there are five levels of thinking geometry. This study was conducted to determine the cognitive abilities of junior high school students based on Van Hiele's geometry thinking level viewed from a gender perspective. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method with question instruments and interview guidelines. The research subjects were six female students and six male students. The results of tests and interviews were analysed to determine the level of the tendency of students' geometric thinking. Research results show that there are four male students at level 3 (Deduction) and two students at level 2 (Informal Deduction).Whereas for female students there were three students at level 3 (deduction), two students at level 2 (simple deduction) and one student at level 1 (analysis). Male students are better at visual abilities and prefer simple ways of writing answers, while female students are better at verbal abilities and neater in writing answers. So it can be stated that male students tend to be superior to female students. This can be the basis for the treatment of students based on gender and cognitive abilities of students' level of geometry thinking.

However, the Merangin district has a high earthquake activity level. The aim of this research is to know the relationship between the geological conditions in the subsurface with earthquake activity level in the research area. The methods conducted in this research was direct measurement method in the field, in the form of geological structure mapping. The dip and strike data were then analyzed in order to know the main stress and strain of rocks. Studio analysis method was also conducted, which included three analyses. First, lineament analysis of the ridge and valley from DEM SRTM (Digital Elevation Model Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) satellite imagery. Second, the analysis of potential earthquakes using the records of past earthquakes and the geometry of the faults in the form of a seismotectonic map. Third, morphometry map analysis. The geological structure mapping in the area shows that the joint direction oriented Northeast-Southwest. Meanwhile, the analysis of geological structure through DEM SRTM and from the earthquake data displayed five earthquake epicenters with a depth of more than 100 km in the subsurface with magnitude scale 4.2-4.4 Richter Scale (RS). Thus, the earthquake which occurred in the research area were all due to the subduction zone. In the morphometric map, it shows that the geomorphology in the area of research is split into two main classifications, moderately steep in upper zone and sloping in the lower zone. In conclusion, though the Geopark Merangin has many high earthquake activity levels, but since they occur due to the subduction zone, the earthquake can be classified as a middle-scale and have less effect on the surface.
Synthesis of bio-composite from recycled polypropylene (rPP) using bamboo powder (BP) as a filler... more Synthesis of bio-composite from recycled polypropylene (rPP) using bamboo powder (BP) as a filler had been carried out. Five levels of filler loading with or without divinyl benzene (DVB) were designed. The influence of filler concentration could improve tensile strength (TS) up to the optimum condition (ratio rPP/BP = 8/2). The effect of the bamboo particle size showed that the TS increased as the size of the particle smaller. The effect of BP particle size showed that the bigger of its size gave better bio-degradation properties. The use of DVB for the synthesis of bio-composites showed more biodegradable than without DVB.

Objective: To investigate the effects of milk with/without the combination of tea and 0.2% NaF on enamel demineralization using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT). Methods: The coronal parts of 40 extracted sound premolars were prepared as tooth blocks. An unvarnished occlusal surface window was created for each tooth by covering the occlusal surface with a 3x5 mm 2 sticker and painting all other surfaces with an acid-resistant varnish. These blocks were randomly allocated into four groups that were immersed in remineralizing solutions for 26 minutes: Group A, milk; Group B, milk and tea; Group C, milk and 0.2% NaF; and Group D, deionized water (control). Results: After 3 days of immersion in a buffered demineralization solution at pH 4.4, micro-CT scans were taken. The mean grayscale values and the standard deviations are: 98.1 ± 24.0; 90.8 ± 9.1; 92.6 ± 21.4; 81.1 ± 20.3, respectively. The mean grayscale values were significantly different among the four groups (p<0.05), except between groups A and B and between groups A and C. Conclusion: Topical application with milk alone showed a higher protective effect against demineralization compared to the synergic application of milk and tea and milk and 0.2% NaF. SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 mole ratio of the starting materials was varied by the addition of pure, insoluble corundum and quartz. The geopolymer exhibited some differences in the ratio of initial reaction mixtures and that of final products. The corundum gave no influence to the compressive strength while the quartz at SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 =4.0-6.0 produced significant change in the strength. The highest compressive strength achieved was 65 MPa. XRD using analysis Rietveld method proved that quartz has been found both in starting materials as well as in the geopolymer indicating the involvement of crystalline phases, to some extent, in geopolymerization process.

The aim of study was to evaluate the effectiveness of oral health promotion intervention using oral health evaluation card called KMGS to increase oral health children aged 24-60 months in Posyandu. The number of respondents who signed informed consent were 54 couples mothers and children under five, they were got a complete dental examination, all care givers in Posyandu were trained by dentist how to filled KMGS to measure the risk of ECC. The effect of the oral health promotion programmes to mother by caregiver on oral hygiene (plaque score, and maturity of plaque score), were evaluated in the second and third of month. All datas were analysis used Anova test and Pearson correlation. The score 0 of maturity plaque in the last study was indicated had increase significantly (p 51) of mother was increase significantly after 3 month intervention, a significant correlation between oral hygiene of children and behavior of mother (Pearson’s R =0.337, p 51 terhadap kesehatan gigi (p<0,05), disamping itu ada hubungan yang bermakna antara kebersihan gigi anak dengan perubahan perilaku ibu dengan nilai Pearson’s r 0,337 (p<0,05).
