The Indonesian consumer behavior has changed over the last decades, and hence reviewing consumer ... more The Indonesian consumer behavior has changed over the last decades, and hence reviewing consumer value is crucial for the halal beef industry. This study explores halal beef consumer preferences and its segmentation. The research design constituted descriptive with a quantitative approach. Focus group discussions and consumer surveys were conducted through face-to-face interview toward 440 middle-class Muslim households in Indonesian top ten cities. The data analysis uses conjoint and clusters analysis. The essential attributes of halal beef in the order of priority are a red color, zero residues, latest production, halal guarantee label positions for each cluster, clean, tender, and flavor (p-value = 0.000). Beef consumers consist of four clusters comprising sanctity, clarity, quality, and safety. Based on demographic characteristics, the age and family size differences among groups were not significant, with each p-value at 0.356 and 0.189, while based on consumption and buying preference, each cluster has not significantly different in their beef consumption level, with a p-value at 0.102.

Assessing the halal beef chain's sustainability is crucial for the achievement of sustainable... more Assessing the halal beef chain's sustainability is crucial for the achievement of sustainable development goals in Indonesia. This study evaluates the economic, environmental, and social impact of the Indonesian halal beef supply chain. The economic indicator shows that cattle farmers incurred the highest costs, but earn a lower profit than the beef retailers. Cattle farmers produce higher carbon emissions and use more freshwater than other actors. However, cattle farmers contributed most significantly to hiring employees along the Indonesian halal beef supply chain. These indicate a gap between actors that impact the fragile sustainability of the supply chain.

Even though Indonesia has a majority Muslim population, there are several regions with different ... more Even though Indonesia has a majority Muslim population, there are several regions with different religious concentrations, such as the Bali region, which has a minority Muslim community. A deeper understanding of consumer preferences in several areas provides a unique value for the specific segment of consumers. This study examines halal beef consumer preferences in majority and minority Muslim areas. This study is descriptive, using quantitative data. The participants of this survey were 290 middle-class Muslim consumers. Data analysis used a chi-square (t-test). The top five beef attributes are the halal label, newness, appearance, aroma, and hygiene. However, there are additional attributes for middle-class Muslim consumers in minority Muslim areas, specifically, the beef is free of residue, has good prices, and a Muslim shop owner (p-value = 0.000). The pattern of buying and consuming beef in minority Muslim areas has the characteristics of rarely shopping for meat specifically, with less frequent meat purchases and less overall consumption of meat.

Design/methodology/approach This research combines qualitative and quantitative method. It elaborates nine variables as the Halal Control Point: halal animal, animal welfare, stunning, knife, slaughter person, slaughter method, invocation, packaging, labeling and halal meat. Investors confronted with the uncertainty and the risk in the stock market. This research aims to calculate risk and return and to know stock valuation on palm oil companies. This research uses secondary data concerning to stock price data and Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) in five years period from April 2011 to April 2016. Obtained data was analyzed with Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM). the variable of this research is Risk and Return. The results of the research show that in five-year data, risk -free asset rate at 0,0611 and market return at 0,2610. UNVR, TBLA, INDF, ICBP, MYOR returns are higher than investor expected returns (R>Er), while AALI, LSIP, BWPT, GZCO, SGRO returns are lower than the expected return (R<Er). IFE matrices, EFE, SWOT, and QSPM were employed to analyze the data. Results from IFE matrices indicated that the company's main strength is the vision of company with a score of 0.486 and the main drawback is the location of the plant with a score of 0.280. In addition, results from EFE matrices indicated that the main opportunity is government policies related to the export of coffee beans with a score of 0.397, and the main threat is government policy related to the import of processed coffee with a score of 0.266. Jenis data adalah data sekunder dan sumber data dari BPS, Kementerian Pertanian dan Dinas Peternakan Jawa Timur. Analisis data menggunakan model dinamis. 5 skenario kebijakan pengelolaan rantai pasok sapi madura berkelanjutan berdasar aspek sosial, pendapatan ekonomi dan lingkungan dengan mengacu pada indikator pencapaian dalam blue print program swasembada daging sapi 2014 dan program pengembangan pulau madura sebagai pulau sapi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah skenario pengelolaan rantai pasok sapi Madura berkelanjutan yang paling optimal guna mewujudkan pulau Madura sebagai pulau sapi adalah skenario kebijakan dengan indikator keberhasilan tingkat kematian pedet menjadi 20%.

ABSTRACT
This study is aimed to knowing the basic system of Madura cattle supply chain, to recognize the dynamic system model of Madura cattle supply chain and producean optimal scenario of sustainable supply chain management to realize Madura as the cattle island. Type of secondary data has been collected from BPS, ministry of agriculture and east java livestock services. Dynamic model used to analyze the data. Five policy scenarios to be used in the analysis of the behavior of Madura cattle supply chain systems in both social welfare, economical revenue aspects and the environment refers to a variety of technical indicators achievement in the blueprint of of beef self-sufficiency program at 2014 and Madura development program as the cattle island. The results of this study are most optimal policy scenario of the success indicator to calf mortality rate 20%.
