Several applications have been reported in areas as water and air monitoring; gas leakage detection; explosives, drugs or people detection and demining tasks, among others. Many robotic platforms (i.e. hardware and software) have been proposed to carry out an odor detection task however, in this field, this remains an open research. This research requires the development and evaluation of a robust mobile robotic platform which supports an odor sensory unit, as well as some development tools like PC communication, data saving and the odor delivery system. This work has been focused on this topic. A LabVIEW virtual instrument was developed to allow data acquisition from sensors as well as motor commands, via serial port. The platform was experimentally validated using two reactive Braitenberg inspired algorithms.

This root can be used completely or partially in ipsilateral or contralateral lesions of the brachial plexus. A review of the literature and the case report of a 21-month-old girl with stab wounds to the neck and section of the C5 root of the right brachial plexus are presented. A transfer of the anterior fibres of the ipsilateral C7 root was performed. At 9 months there was complete recovery of abduction and external rotation of the shoulder.

This process can be described as an interacting particle system in the following way: at time 0 a simple symmetric continuous time random walk

The synthesis mechanism involves a surfactant-silica species selfassembly process in acidic medium under quiescent conditions, where S 0 H 3 O + X − I + and S + X − I + interactions occur. The syntheses were carried out using two procedures: (a) with one heating step and (b) with two heating steps. Synthesis conditions, such as the dilution, temperature and acidity of the reaction mixture and the temperature and duration of the reaction, influence the porous characteristics as well as the morphology and size of the particles. Spherical particles were obtained with one heating step under conditions that weaken the surfactants-silicate interactions such as high dilution, high temperature and low acidity. The modification of the micelle volume with the temperature and acidity allowed the adjustment of the pore size.

Vengosh a b s t r a c t Geothermal field Los Humeros, Mexico, is characterized by a high steam fraction in the well fluids, by extremely high B concentrations in separated water (grams per liter, with a magmatic B signature, d 11 B ± 2r = À0.8 ± 1.6‰), by the absence of correlation between B and Cl concentrations and by positive correlation between B content in separated water and fluid enthalpy. Such behavior is consistent with the existence of moderately acid brine (pH 3-5) at depth with a high B concentration (500-600 mg/kg). In this case a 3-level model can be suggested for Los Humeros: (1) immature, moderately acid brine at depth which is boiling at a temperature $350°C producing the HCl-bearing vapor with a high B content;

And what are the implications of these practices for maize genetic diversity and the introduction of improved varieties? Local maize seed supply was studied using both qualitative and quantitative methods and a series of factors that influence local seed supply was analyzed. Together they constitute a set of flexible and dynamic practices, which embrace both conservation and innovation aspects. Implications for on-farm conservation and introduction of improved varieties are discussed.

Crosscountry regressions show a signi®cant relationship in both directions, with public expenditures on health and education, notably female, especially important in the chain from EG to HD; and the investment rate and income distribution signi®cant in the HD to EG chain. This gives rise to virtuous or vicious cycles, with good or bad performance on HD and EG reinforcing each other. Evidence over time has strong sequencing implications: countries initially favoring economic growth lapse into the vicious category, while those with good HD and poor EG sometimes move into the virtuous category. Where choice is necessary human development should be given sequencing priority. Ó
