Research paper thumbnail of LanguageRefer: Spatial-Language Model for 3D Visual Grounding

Cornell University - arXiv, Jul 7, 2021

For robots to understand human instructions and perform meaningful tasks in the near future, it i... more For robots to understand human instructions and perform meaningful tasks in the near future, it is important to develop learned models that comprehend referential language to identify common objects in real-world 3D scenes. In this paper, we introduce a spatial-language model for a 3D visual grounding problem. Specifically, given a reconstructed 3D scene in the form of point clouds with 3D bounding boxes of potential object candidates, and a language utterance referring to a target object in the scene, our model successfully identifies the target object from a set of potential candidates. Specifically, LanguageRefer uses a transformer-based architecture that combines spatial embedding from bounding boxes with fine-tuned language embeddings from DistilBert [1] to predict the target object. We show that it performs competitively on visio-linguistic datasets proposed by ReferIt3D [2]. Further, we analyze its spatial reasoning task performance decoupled from perception noise, the accuracy of view-dependent utterances, and viewpoint annotations for potential robotics applications. The purpose of this experimental study was to investigate the effect of CeO 2 during pregnancy on alterations in the testis tissue and blood biochemical parameters in newborn mice. Pregnant NMRI mice were divided randomly into five groups (n = 6 for each group) including one control group and 4 treatment groups. Injection of CeO 2 solution was administered intraperitoneally at the doses of 10, 25, 80, and 250 mg/kg.bw, respectively, on GD 7 and GD 14. At the end of treatment period, the testicular histological and biochemical parameters of 2-and 6-day-old newborns were analyzed, as well as the biochemical parameters in serum samples of 15day-old newborns. The number of spermatogonia, Sertoli, and Leydig cells in the testis of the 2-day-old newborn and spermatogonia and Leydig cells in the testis of the 6-day-old newborns in the 250 mg/kg.bw CeO 2 treatment group was significantly reduced compared with the control group (P < 0.05). Testis MDA of the 2-and 6-day-old newborns in the treated group receiving 250 mg/kg.bw of CeO 2 was significantly higher than the control group (P < 0.001). There was no significant difference between serum MDA and TAC levels between the treated groups with different doses of CeO 2 compared with the control group. Therefore, CeO 2 given to dams during pregnancy may affect the testicular tissue and blood biochemical parameters in neonates and may be dose-dependent.

However, its clinical application is limited due to its low water solubility, side effects, and multidrug resistance. The aim of this study was to increase the therapeutic efficacy of VB using drug delivery systems. For this purpose, a PEGylated niosomal formulation of vinblastine (Pn-VB) was prepared by thin film hydration method and physicochemically characterized. Drug release pattern was performed by dialysis diffusion method. The cytotoxicity of Pn-VB was investigated against murine lung cancer TC-1 cells using MTT assay and its tumor inhibitory effect was evaluated in lung tumor-bearing C57BL/6 mice. Mean particle size, zeta potential, entrapment, and loading efficiency of niosomes were obtained to be about 234.3 ± 11.4 nm, -34.6 ± 4.2 mV, 99.92 ± 1.6%, and 2.673 ± 0.30%, respectively. While, the mean particle size and zeta potential for non-PEGylated niosomes were obtained...

Recent research approaches conducted in this field have insisted on the influence factors: extroversion, temperamental personality, openness, adaptability and conscientiousness on directors' yield. The present study aiming to examine the relationship between personality's characteristics and directors' efficiency were designed and implemented in 2009 in Lorestan University of Basic Medical Sciences. Materials and Methods: This descriptive study was done by correlation way on 80 directors employ Medical Sciences University. Sampling was chosen according to Kerjesi-Morgan table by stratified proportional way. Research tool in the study was 5-factor personality questionnaire (NEO) and the range of a five-point Likert spectrum. Data was analyzed from the questionnaire and analyzed by SPSS software from descriptive statistics and inferential tests. 30-item questionnaire for managers' efficiency was assessed using Cronbach's alpha and Likert scale. There was a positive (direct) relationship between personality's characteristics and managers' efficiency in University of Basic Medical Science (r= 0.274, p= 0.014), also relation of extroversion factor (P= 0.034), openness factor (P = 0.038), adjustment factor (P = 0.049), conscience factor (P = 0.008) with efficiency is direct and significant. But there was a significant and inverse relationship between neuroticism factor (P = 0.008) and efficiency. Personality characteristics explain twenty percent of managers' efficiency. Above five-multiple personality characteristics are closely related to the managers' efficiency. An effective and efficient management must possess features such as accountability, flexibility, connectivity and amiability and avoid also temperamental personality factors (neuroticism).

The COPD assessment test (CAT) is one of the standard methods for the clinical assessment of the disease, which is translated into Persian. This study investigated the reliability of the test and its relationship with the severity of the disease. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 120 patients filled out the Persian transcript of the test. After two weeks, the patients filled out the CAT test again. Obstruction severity was determined for all the patients using spirometry, and the patients were categorized into four groups according to the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease criteria. The relationship between the test scores and the disease severity wan validated. Results: The mean age of the patients was 51.5 years. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the Persian transcript of the test was 0.872 in the first time, and 0.885 in the second time. Intragroup reliability, test re-test and intragroup correlations were significant for all the questions (<0.001). The relationship between the test mean score and obstruction severity was significant, and the correlation between disease categorization in accordance with obstruction severity and categorization according to the test score was significant as well. Conclusion: The Persian transcript of the assessment test for COPD was reliable and is directly related to the disease severity according to airflow limitation.

Using in-wheel-electrical machine coupled to each of the rear wheels, driving/regeneration and stability enhancement can be obtained synchronously by summation and difference of enforced torques, respectively. For research section of mentioned pattern, proper modelling and simulation of driving realities are important for trust-worthy simulation results. So, a dynamical model with 14 degrees of freedom (14-DoF), using Dugoff's tire model is considered in this paper. Also, power-train subsystems include of engine, clutch, gear box, and differential with electrical machine and battery models are used from ADVISOR vehicle simulation software. Considering an electrical machine on each rear wheel, sliding mode and fuzzy controllers have been designed to direct yaw moment control and driving mode control, respectively. Furthermore, braking pedal has been used for activation of regenerative braking operation in driving mode control. Forward simulation of vehicle, intelligent vehicle control based on road/driving condition and synchronous control of driving/regeneration and stability enhancement is the advantages of this paper. Simulations performed in MATLAB/SIMULINK en-vironment demonstrate that the proposed structure can effectively enhance the vehicle performance in different modes.
