This study examined the effects of post-training intrahippocampal microinjections of 1400W as a selective inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) inhibitor on spatial memory, in both anesthetized and non-anesthetized situations in rats. In the present work, 4-day training trials of animals were conducted. Spatial memory was tested 48 h after the drug infusions. For microinjection of 1400W into CA1 region of the hippocampus in conscious animals, guide cannula was implanted into the CA1 area and 1400W was infused after recovery from surgical anesthesia. In anesthetized animals, 1400W was microinjected directly into CA1 region by Hamilton syringe during anesthesia. After completion of training, 1400W (10, 50 and 100 μM/side) were microinjected bilaterally (1 μL/side) and testing trials were performed 48 h after drug infusions in both groups of cannulated and non-cannula...

In effect, the study analyzed the opening and closing verses of 14 surahs to find out the central themes upon which they begin and come to a close. The analysis was conducted using the Persian translations of the verses as well as seeking help from the available Quran commentary or exegesis written in English. The analysis of the opening verses of the selected surahs revealed three central themes: (1) some surahs begin with words that praise and eulogize Allah, (2) some with imperative sentences or commandments addressed to the Holy Prophet, and (3) some related to specific events and times. Regarding the closing verses, the findings were not uniform across the selected surahs; while in some surahs the closing verses together with the opening verses deal with a similar topic or theme, in some other surahs the closing verses are concerned with different topics.

Ninety extracted single-rooted maxillary teeth were used in this study. Seventy teeth were randomly divided into two groups: One group was obturated by lateral compaction technique and the other was obturated by Obtura II (thermoplasticized gutta-percha compaction technique); 5 teeth were positive controls (without obturation) and 5 teeth were negative controls (with obturation) in each group. The specimens were placed in India ink for 48 h and then divided into two halves. The amount of dye penetration was observed under a stereomicroscope at ×16 magnification and 0.1 mm accuracy. In this study, there was apical leakage in the two experimental groups but the amount of microleakage was not significant. According to the results of independent samples test, there was no significant difference between the two experimental groups.

Accordingly, bariatric surgery experienced explosive growth during the past decade. Current estimates place the worldwide volume of bariatric procedures at greater than 300,000 cases annually. Micronutrient deficiencies are well-described following bariatric surgery, and they may present with devastating and sometimes irreversible neurologic manifestations. Clinical symptoms range from peripheral neuropathy to encephalopathy, and are most commonly caused by thiamine, copper, and B(12) deficiencies.

Rewards were allocated more equally to members of one group than to members of two dyads or to independent recipients. Moreover, allocators who were explicitly requested to allocate rewards justly were more egalitarian than those who were not requested to do so. More interestingly, rewards were allocated more equally between members in each of two dyads and between independent recipients, when a just allocation request was made, than when such a request was not made. This implies that a request for just allocation modifies the effects of recipient entity categorization toward more equal reward allocations.
