Stock price are highly volatile, non linear and random in nature. Soft computing technique, such ... more Stock price are highly volatile, non linear and random in nature. Soft computing technique, such as Artificial NeuralNetwork is capable to solve non liner problem. We find properly tuned back propagation feed forward neural network can effectively predict price direction. Here we design price prediction generalize model that can predict price direction of random time series. Research study used National Stock Exchange benchmark stock index and top ten weighted index stock. Technical indicators are applied as input to the model. Model used daily stock data from January 2006 to June 2015. Performance of model are measured using hit rate. After properly tuning ANN, experimental result show that model can effectively improve price prediction.

One of the consequences of such a stressed system is the threat of losing stability following a disturbance. Flexible ac transmission system (FACTS) devices are found to be very effective in stressing a transmission network for better utilization of its existing facilities without sacrificing the desired stability margin. Flexible AC Transmission System controllers, such as STATCOM and SVC, employ the latest technology o f power electronic switching devices in power transmission systems to control voltage and power flow.

In this Paper, a systematic approach to fuzzy logic controller based power system stabilizer (FLP... more In this Paper, a systematic approach to fuzzy logic controller based power system stabilizer (FLPSS) is designed for stability enhancement of a single machine infinite bus system. In order to accomplish the stability enhancement, speed deviation and acceleration of the rotor of synchronous generator were taken as the inputs to the fuzzy logic controller. These variables take significant effects on damping the generator shaft mechanical oscillations. The stabilizing signals were computed using the fuzzy membership function depending on these variables. The performance of the system with FLPSS is compared with the system having Conventional PSS (CPSS) and system Without PSS (WPSS). Simulation results show the FLPSS gives better performance than the CPSS. The simulations were tested under different operating conditions, and also tested with different numbers and types of membership functions.

This paper presents the application of a fuzzy logic controller to improve the stability of elect... more This paper presents the application of a fuzzy logic controller to improve the stability of electric power system. The stabilizing signal is computed using the standard fuzzy membership function depending on the speed acceleration state of the generator in the phase plane. Studies have been carried out considering FLPSS based on 3, 5 and 7 MFs of Gaussian shape. Investigations reveal that the performance of the proposed FLPSS is quite robust to wide variations in loading condition both for small and large perturbations. The performance of the fuzzy PSS is compared with the conventional power system stabilizer (CPSS). The simulations were tested under different operating conditions and change in reference voltage also tested with different membership functions.

Voltage disturbance in the form of voltage sag and swell can cause several processes in industry and result is economical loss. To resolve these issues many custom power devices are used. One of the device is Dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) .which is most efficient and reliable custom power device. DVR normally connected in series between the source voltage and sensitive load. The main function of DVR is quickly mitigating the voltage sags in the system and restores the load voltage to the pre-fault value. In this project present modelling and controlling of DVR using Proportional and integral (PI) controller for voltage sag swell mitigation when induction motor load in connected in the system. The simulation is performed using matlab/simulink simpower system

Behavior of the HVDC system during fault is studied. Variation of transient power and the relation between various parameters of the line are analyzed during each fault. Based on that the protection principle is developed. Transient power is obtained by measuring the voltage and current at the two terminals of the line. Identification of internal and external faults as well as location of DC lone fault can be done correctly and quickly from transient power. The test system is modeled using MATLAB - SIMULINK based on first CIGRE HVDC benchmark system.
