This paper examines empirically the nexus between stock prices and exchange rates in Ghana using ... more This paper examines empirically the nexus between stock prices and exchange rates in Ghana using time series models. The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index is taken as the composite index for stock prices. The results affirm that there is no causal relationship between the foreign exchange rate (EXR) and stock prices for Ghana.
A la fois instrument de financement structure et de developpement, la technique du financement de... more A la fois instrument de financement structure et de developpement, la technique du financement de projet est de plus en plus utilisee dans les Etats membres de l’Organisation pour l’Harmonisation en Afrique du Droit des Affaires (OHADA). Cependant, en raison de la complexite de son cadre juridique, consequence de l’heterogeneite des sources et des regles qui lui sont applicables, sa mise en œuvre se revele difficile. Pour y remedier, une integration de ce cadre, a travers l’uniformisation des sources et des regles, et l’amelioration des modalites de sa mise en œuvre s’impose. A cet effet, le Traite OHADA pourrait etre utilement mobilise avec notamment l'elaboration d'un Acte Uniforme relatif au financement de projet. Gage de securite juridique, l'elaboration d'un tel Acte Uniforme, entre clairement dans le spectre de ses competences et viendrait completer les Actes uniformes deja en vigueur dans cette region d’Afrique.

The level of offshore banking in both developing and developed countries today is evidence to this fact. Since the financial wheel is critical in any development paradigm, the role of banks is even more critical. Therefore the survival and performance of banks is of much interest not only to policy makers and shareholders, but it is also of interest to researchers. The intriguing report that banks in Sub-Sahara Africa as a whole make much profit than those in the developed world (Valentina Flamini et al., 2009) calls for some introspection to verify the case of Ghana.
