The Al-8011 alloy is reinforced with E-glass fibers and fly ash particulates by using stir casting technique. The metal matrix composites with different composition of E-glass fibers (weight percentage, %) and constant fly-ash particulates (weight %) were prepared. The tensile, compression and hardness behaviour of the composite were investigated experimentally. Maximum tensile and compression strength is observed for Al-8011+6 % fly ash+5 %+E-glass fiber composite. Improvement in hardness was observed with increasing percentage of E-glass fiber. Besides, tensile and compressive behaviour were analytically analysed using ANSYS Workbench 15.0. The experimental results were found to be in good accordance with the analytical results. An average error percentage of 4.5 and 6.5 % was found when experimental and analytical results were compared for both tensile and compression tests. The fracture surfaces of the tensile and compression specimens were examined using scanning electron microscope (SEM).

Performance and emission characteristics of the SI engine was evaluated and compared with base line petrol operation. Addition of ethanol to petrol provides lower carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbon (HC) and nitric oxide (NOx) emissions. Among all blend ratio performance results E75 shows overall improved engine performance with increased brake thermal efficiency (BTE) with lower emissions.

Here the Onera-M6 wing is modelled for the transonic flow conditions in 3D with the adiabatic flow conditions. In the first case only the Onera-M6 wing is analyzed to know the performance. In the second case the canard is considered along with the Onera-M6 main wing and the modelling is done with the same set of conditions as 3D-transonic flows. In the present study two canard positions are considered, one under the same axis of the main wing (20% shrinkage), and another above the axis line of the main wing (20% shrinkage-offset). In the first design i.e., canard of 20% shrinkage with same axis, the design is performing well than clean wing & 20% shrinkage-offset canard at the lower angle of attacks. In the second design i...

Regarding SI engine utilization in such applications global issues are concerned like NOx, HC, CO. Alternative fuels are the fuels of present and future. More and more vehicles are switching to alternative fuels worldwide. Usage of different fuels also reduces emissions which has further pushed demand for eco-friendly fuels. during this direction interest is concentrated on reducing formation of NOx & PM.Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) may be a technique to attenuate NOx and smoke emission. the foremost reliable alternative possibility to deal with critical emissions is to use oxygenated fuels like ethanol, butanol and ether etc. which are renewable. Experimental investigations are performed out on one cylinder four stroke petrol engine producing an influence output of 5.2 kw In this experiment ethanol blends are used alongsideconventional gasoline. The blends used are 75% Ethanol 25% petrol, 50% Ethanol 50% petrol, 75% petrol 25% Ethanol alongsidethis performance parameters like ignition timing, Brake thermal efficiency and Emissions like HC, CO, NOx are monitored.

The rapid depletion of fossil fuel reserves with increasing demand and uncertainty in their supply as well as the rapid rise in petroleum prices has stimulated the search for other alternatives to fossil fuels. The thumba biodiesel is considered as alternative fuels to diesel. This review has been taken up to identify the performance and emission using thumba biodiesel.
