Cereals and bakery products serve as a valuable source of nutrients in the diet of many people and they provide an ideal condition for the growth of microorganisms too. Many fungal and bacterial species are responsible for the spoilage of fruits and vegetables. They contaminate fruits and vegetables and made them insufficient for consumption. Objective: In our present study, an investigation has been carried out to isolate and identify the fungal species which are responsible for the spoilage of some food items particularly bread, cheese, lemon and onion. Materials and method: A prospective study was conducted to know the incidence and to evaluate the common fungal pathogens are involved in the spoilage of different types of food products namely bakery product bread, milk product cheese, vegetables onion and lemon. The samples were collected from the spoiled bread, lemon, onion & cheese which were obtained from different shops in the local market. The samples were subjected to identification and isolation of fungal pathogens using the standard staining procedure and selective media. 5 fungal isolates were found to be most commonly occurring in all of the samples namely Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger, Rhizopus, Mucor and Penicillium marneffei.

The pathogenic bacteria can be easily removed by the use of antibacterial soaps, face washes, etc. It is common now to find out a wide array of antibacterial face wash products that claim to do miracles, though their actual results are questionable. Antibacterial face washes are popular means of prevention. But it is important to know how effective they are. In this study, 50 samples were collected from the faces belong to the age groups 20-45 years by using sterile cotton swabs moistened with sterile normal saline. Organisms were cultured on different culture plates and identified by biochemical tests. Most commonly isolated organisms from the face include Staphylococci, Streptococci, Micrococci, Pseudomonas & E.coli. Antimicrobial activity of antibiotics was done on isolates using MHA by disc diffusion method. Simultaneously, the antimicrobial susceptibility of the isolates was analysed with commonly known face washes namely Clean & Clear, Himalaya, Fair & lovely and Lakme. Out of four face washes used, clean&clear was the most potent antibacterial face wash that inhibit all the isolates. Fair&lovely shown least antibacterial activity against all the isolates.

It also seems to be a good remedy in traditional medicine as anti psoriasis, seborrheic dermatidis, anaphylactic, leucopenia. The roots are suggested to be a good natural preservative of food. Antibacterial activity of ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of plant was investigated by well-diffusio n method against bacterial pathogens associated with HIV. The plant extracts showed better inhibitory activity against the tested organisms. Methanolic leaf extract of Tylophora indica showed highest inhibitory activity when compared with all treatments. Phytochemical screening of the methanolic leaf extract of the plant revealed the presence of tannins, saponins, flavonoids, carbohydrates and alkaloids. Thin Layer Chromatography(TLC) value of the leaf extract showe...

They are extensively used as Indian traditional medicine to cure various human ailments. The World pandemic of AIDS has been with us for more than twenty five years and shows no signs of abatement. The incidence of fungal infe ctions is increasing because of raising number of immunocompromised patients widespread use of broad spectrum of antibiotics. Medicinal plants constitute a very important natural resource used b y indigenous medicinal systems for the last 300 years. Antimicrobial activity of ethyl acetate, di ethyl ether and methanol extracts of Acalypha indica were investigated against HIV associated opportunis ic fungal pathogens. The plant extracts showed better inhibitory activity against the tested organ ism. Ethylacetate extracts produced much better activity when compared with methanolic and diethyle ther extracts. Phytochemical screening of the plant revealed ...

There are face washes and cleansers on the market now that eliminate specific skin germs and keep healthy skin infection-free. Each volunteer's face was used to take a sample, the sample was taken by gently scraping every surface of the participant's face, including the popped-up Acne, using a sterile swab dipped in normal saline. The gathered samples were cultured on Nutrient Agar, and the organisms that had developed there were recognised by Gram staining and the appropriate biochemical identification and placedin different levels. The organism was then put to the test against several isolated organisms using a sensitivity test (Kirby-bauer Method) using diluted versions of 5 different face washes. Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus spp., Bacillus spp., E. coli, and Klebsiella spp., were among the predominant strains among the 40 diff...
