Transgender are the persons who challenge the binary system of genders in the society and want some space between or beyond this binary system. The present research paper is a narrative-oriented research on the transgender. The major objectives of this study were to have an account about the self-knowledge and self-concept of the transgender people about themselves and how they differentiate themselves form men in spite of having male biology. For this purpose, qualitative research method was adopted for attaining in depth information and fifteen case studies were conducted by using non-probability sampling technique. The gathered detailed information was analyzed through thematic analysis method from qualitative research techniques. The study revealed that all of the participants of this research study perceive themselves as women and feel comfor...

Most research on behavioral determinants has been linkedwith individuals’ physical health and socio-economic factors. However, health behavior isinfluenced by individual physical health and abilities. Multiple dynamics of chronic illnesseswithin human body influenced the dietary patterns. For disease prognosis, doctors advisedpatients to observe preventive measures. Objective: The researchers tried to identify thechanges in the dietary patterns protective effects of food consumption such as mutton, chicken, beef, snacks and sweets on chronic illnesses that reduce the risk factors and contribute in thepatients’ health behaviors. Setting: The empirical data was collected from three Dialysis Units:Mayo Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, Lahore General Hospital and all admitted patients of PunjabInstitute of Cardiology, Lahore. Methodology: These four hospitals have good turn-over ofthe ...

Psychological and sociological explanations provide a broader concept of health. Subjective well being relates to the functional, physical, social, psychological, and behavioral health. However, health behavior is influenced by individual physical health and abilities. Among economic resources, some background factors such as age, gender, and socio-economic status play important role. Other than resources, social support builds adaptive capacity of an individual that bring gradual change in day to day life. It also enhances individual efforts for well – being in the physical, psychological, and social domains of life such as management of health problems. Objective: To explore the subjective feelings of well – being of cardiac and renal failure patients that how social support and coping strategies influence in the context of Pakistani society. Methodology: The empirical data was collected from four major hos...

It has to acknowledge very different business models and national peculiarities. In addition, regulatory authorities—as a stakeholder on their own—have a number of supervisory objectives the SF should incentivize. With the intervention of the SF in economic activities, the principle of equal treatment must be maintained. The large circle of users makes its procedural simplicity indispensable to ensure that it is applied and implemented in a proportionate manner. Above all, the SF should be risk-sensitive. Compared to Solvency I, the SF of Solvency II is considered a significant improvement, as many of the aforementioned desiderata have been much better realized. The following analysis and survey of model-theoretical aspects of the SF shows that these improvements could be achieved above all with regard to epistemic uncertainties. The stochastic model underneath the SF is stil...

Although tidal locking is expected in such systems, most studies have neglected the rotationally-induced mixing that may occur. Here we study the possible effects of mixing in the mass-losing stars for a range in secondary star masses and metallicities. We find that tidal locking can induce rotational mixing prior to contact and thus affect the evolution of the secondary star if the effects of the Spruit-Tayler dynamo are included both for angular momentum and chemical transport. Once contact is made, the effect of mass transfer tends to be more rapid than the evolutionary time scale, so the effects of mixing are no longer directly important, but the mass transfer strips matter to inner layers that may have been affected by the mixing. These effects are enhanced for secondaries of 1-1.2 M ⊙ and for lower metallicities. We discuss the possible implications for the paucity of carbon in the secondaries of the cataclysmic variable SS Cyg and the black hole candidate XTE J1118+480 and for the progenitor evolution of Type Ia supernovae. We also address the issue of the origin of blue straggler stars in globular and open clusters. We find that for models that include rotation consistent with that observed for some blue straggler stars, evolution is chemically homogeneous. This leads to tracks in the HR diagram that are brighter and bluer than the non-rotating main-sequence turn-off point. Rotational mixing could thus be one of the factors that contribute to the formation of blue stragglers.

It seems to be very important in the case of identity verification. In this paper the analysis of features describing the dynamic signature was performed. The dynamic signature is represented by a set of nonlinear waveforms describing dynamics of signing process. The proposed analysis is based on a set of coefficients defined in the context of the dynamic signature partitioning. The partitioning is performed in order to facilitate analysis of the signature. It consists in division of the signature into parts which can be related to e.g. high and low velocity of pen in the initial and final phase of signing. The proposed method was tested using ATVS-SLT DB dynamic signature database.

To continuously track individuals and their interactions, CCTVs have been built in several ways. Every person is recorded on an image on average 30 times a day in a developed world with a community of 1.6 billion. The resolution of 710*570 captured at knitting will approximate 20 GB per day. Constant monitoring of human data makes it hard to judge whether the incident is an irregular one, and it is an almost uphill struggle when a population and its full support are needed. In this paper, we make a system for the detection of suspicious activity using CCTV surveillance video. There seems to be a need to demonstrate in which frame the behavior is located as well as which section of it allows the faster judgment of the suspicious activity is unusual. This is done by converting the video into frames and analyzing the persons and their activates from the processed fr...

Social support could play a significant role in shaping the copingstrategies and determining the subjective wellbeing of chronically ill patients. Objectives:This research documents the correlation patterns of social support with coping strategiesand subjective well-being among Heart and Kidney Patients. Methods: The primary data wascollected from four major hospitals in Lahore by using purposive sampling method. For thecollection of quantitative data, a hospital-based, cross-sectional survey was conducted with275 admitted patients (131-heart and 144-kidney) 184 male and 91 female (20 to 110 yearsof age) by using a structured interview schedule. Pearson Product-moment Correlation andMultiple Regression Analysis were performed on the data set. Results: Strongest correlationwas found between emotional and informational social support (r=.853). Instrumental socialsupport also indicat...

Amongst other factors, socio-demographic factors play a significant role in determining “knowledge of tuberculosis” Objectives: This study used secondary data from the Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey to estimate the impact of socio-demographic factors determining the knowledge of tuberculosis and conception on how it is spread. Data Source: The relevant variables and the other parameters were extracted from the both pdf and SPSS files of PDHS. Study Design: Bi-variant cross tabulation was used to determine the level of association between the hypothesized variables using the Pearson chi-square statistic. Results: Age and wealth index showed a highly significant relationship (p<0.0001) in determining the knowledge of tuberculosis. Moreover, the increasing level of education showed a decreasing trend of misconception about the spread of TB. Conclusions: T...

A highly significant positive correlation (r = 0.71***) is found between GCA estimates from seedling and clonal families for yield in Phase IIIA, but not in Phase II (r = -0.03(NS)) nor for girth (r= -0.27(NS)) in Phase IIIA. The correlations for Phase II yield and Phase IIIA girth, however, improve when the GCA estimates based on small sample size or reversed rankings are excluded. When the best selections (based on present clonal and seedling information) are compared, all five of the parents top-ranking for yield are common in Phase IIIA but only two parents are common for yield and girth in Phases II and IIIA respectively. However, only one parent for yield in Phase II and two parents for girth in Phase IIIA would, if selected on clonal performance, have been omitted from the top ranking selections made by previous workers using seedling information. These findings, therefore, justify the choice of parents based on GCA estimates for yield obtained from seedling performance. Similar justification cannot be offered for girth, for which analysis is confounded by uninterpretable site and seasonal effects.
