The vote of young voters in the 2019 legislative election in West Java became the target for poli... more The vote of young voters in the 2019 legislative election in West Java became the target for political parties, as the number of young voters was 30% of all the voters. The study employs qualitative methods. The results showed that the number of elected members from the National Awakening Party in the 2019 legislative elections in West Java increased significantly, in 2014 the party only gained 7 chairs, while in the 2019 legislative election, it succeed to obtain 12 chairs. The increase in the number of elected members is because the National Awakening Party in West Java has a strategy that relevan for young voters.

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis mengapa metode registrasi pemilih yang digunakan belum optimal dalam mendata pemilih yang bermukim di area vertikal. Hasil penelitian mengetahui penggunaan dalam melindungi hak memilih saat pengumpulan data pemilih di Kalibata City maupun keterbatasannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data wawancara, kepustakaan, media cetak dan elektronik serta triangulasi sumber yang menghasilkan penelitian bahwa adanya jaminan universal suffrage dimana segala aturan lokal yang menghalangi pendataan dapat diindikasikan melanggar HAM, regulasi tersebut dapat dieksposisi menentang konstitusi. Currently, every country strives to create inclusive governance. However, these efforts are still... more Currently, every country strives to create inclusive governance. However, these efforts are still often stalled. After long decades of the implementation of decentralization in various countries, only a few studies examined the practices of inclusive governance in village-level decentralization. This study explores how inclusive governance is implemented in the decentralized village and what challenges hinder inclusive governance goals in the setting of village decentralization. The study found that there are various results from the implementation of inclusive governance in every village. Developed villages tend to be more likely to realize inclusive governance because they have a variety of good supporting factors. The success of inclusive governance is very dependent on supporting factors and challenges in the decentralized village.

This article discusses public trust in the Indonesian government’s response to the COVID-19 pande... more This article discusses public trust in the Indonesian government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, explicitly focusing on the discourse surrounding large-scale social restrictions (LSSR). In a time of uncertainty, the public requires timely and actual information, most of which is gathered through online media, with Twitter being one such medium. This article applies social network analysis to examine how information about the restrictions is shared and discussed on social media platforms and how this discourse may impact public trust in government institutions in the first phase of pandemic handling. Although LSSR is the government’s policy, this study shows that the interpersonal network plays a more significant part in distributing information, indicating a legitimacy crisis of formal and authoritative sources of information. Minangkabau is one of the ethnic groups in Indonesia synonymous with a matrilineal kinship system and an institutionalized tradition of migrating. Migrating is a valuable capital utilized by Minangkabau migrant Legislative Candidates to gain support for votes in electoral contests. The research was conducted on two Minangkabau migrant Legislative Candidates who took part in the contestation in the Legislative Elections for the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia. Minangkabau is one of the ethnic groups in Indonesia which is identical with the matrilineal kinship system and the institutionalized migration tradition. Migrating is a valuable asset that is used by Minangkabau candidates to gain vote support in electoral contestations. The study was conducted on two Minangkabau nomad candidates who ran for the DPR-RI. The research method is qualitative with case study type. Data were collected by conducting interviews with Minangkabau nomad candidates, voting communities and people involved in the process of winning candidates such as traditional leaders and the Minangkabau community in the realm and overseas.

The conflict occurred because of the competing interests between the interests of the government to build an airport and the interests of the residents to stay in that location. In seven years since 2011, the conflict had de-escalated quite significantly from 2018 to 2019. This research analyzes strategies for conflict de-escalation, in which negotiation and mediation become its operating method. Researchers used a qualitative approach to extract data from actors involved in the conflict, namely the community living in the three villages most affected by the airport construction, representatives from Angkasa Pura I as the airport management authority, and representatives from the Local Government. This article discusses the results of the implementation of community service activities in the f... more This article discusses the results of the implementation of community service activities in the form of a Political Science curriculum design development workshop in the context of Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (Independent Learning-Independent Campus). Enactment of Permendikbud No. 3 of 2020 concerning National Standards for Higher Education encourages study programs to review their curriculum to meet national standards, including in terms of standard learning processes. The Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka's policy is the legal basis for the implementation of learning held outside the study program, which aims to provide students with empirical experience that can complement the lecture process in their study program. However, the elaboration and adaptation of this policy in the curriculum structure of the study program still face a number of problems, including those related to setting the proportion of courses, semester credit units, and the conversion or recognition of student activities outside the campus into semester credit units. The workshop, which was held together with the Association of Indonesian Political Science Study Programs, concluded that the curriculum design in the context of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka could be an opportunity to strengthen the excellence of the study program. This effort needs to be balanced with strengthening networks and inter-institutional cooperation so that these advantages can also be recognized nationally and internationally.

This paper discusses the power relations in the land dispute on the site of Bojongmenje Temple, t... more This paper discusses the power relations in the land dispute on the site of Bojongmenje Temple, to reveal why conflicts in Bojongmenje Temple Site lasted continuously (2003-present). To clarify this, this paper uses an analysis of power relations to identify the mutually contested interests in establishing a claim on land in the site of Bojongmende Temple area. The research method used is qualitative method, with data collection through indepth interview among actors involved in conflict. The research finds that land dispute in the area of Bojongmenje Temple site is a complicated conflict, preceeded by changes in the economic value of land due to the discovery of cultural heritage sites that have tourism potential. This complicated conflict is prolonged and unresolved because the government's bargaining power as an authoritative institution is in a weak position. Conflict resolution needs to be arranged comprehensively, especially to resolve the root of conflict triggered by the instability of system change. This is done by balancing the power positions among conflicting actors in the land management of the Bojongmenje Temple site, beginning with the recognition of local land rights by the government and establishing concensus with citizens to manage the site participatively.
