In the context of Shakespeare's commemorations of his 400 th death anniversary, we celebrate not ... more In the context of Shakespeare's commemorations of his 400 th death anniversary, we celebrate not only his memory but, above all, his influence both in the theatre as well in history. At the same time, the playwright's importance (besides the value of his work) relates to the capacity to represent history through the meeting of past and present in the theatrical stage, and so breaking with the Newtonian linear sense of history.
