The head is the most important part of the body as the most vital part which explain the identity... more The head is the most important part of the body as the most vital part which explain the identity. Garnish which are added to the head become important things that are related to identity, social status, employment and selfexpression but on the other hand they can convey different things unusual. This research uses descriptive analytical method to headdress in Jember Fashion Carnival costumes that communicate something different that does not have a linear meaning to the wearer. Exploration headdres in Jember Fashion Carnival costumes have subvert the social conventions so that they become a central space to express irregularities. The signification of interacting, each passing between signifiers and the codes have produced unity in diversity as double iconic, hybrid codes, engaging codes and symbols. The exploration of Jember Fasion Carnival's headdresses are characterized by reciprocity between creators excitement and enthusiasm of the spectators so the mixing signifiers that occured are able to offer messages, criticisms and appeals those are unrelated to the conventions. A meaning that can be built differently, transient, dynamic and interesting.

Keduanya adalah komoditas rempah bernilai fantastis abad 15 di perdagangan dunia, satu kilogram pala atau cengkeh setara satu kilogram emas murni menjadi primadona yang sangat diincar bangsa-bangsa. Spanyol, Portugis, Belanda dan Inggris berlomba melakukan strategi pelayaran berbulan-bulan hingga tahunan untuk menemukan sumber rempah, memonopoli perdagangan dan merenggut keuntungan besar. Pala dan cengkeh telah menjadi identitas Maluku, ironisnya identitas inilah justru yang mengantar bangsa Eropa melakukan penjajahan. This community empowerment activity was implemented at the initiative of the Karang Taruna commun... more This community empowerment activity was implemented at the initiative of the Karang Taruna community in Bojonghaleuang Village, West Bandung Regency. This activity was intended to provide briefing and creativity training for youth organizations so that they would develop creativity that can be developed into commodity product businesses that are needed by the community. Garment scraps, leftover production and sorting/rejects that are abundant in the city of Bandung require community cultivation. The method used was the cooperative demonstration and practical making of decorative sandals, following modules that were taught both online and onsite, and applied in practice. Then, the youth group can re-explore the sandal model in another form that is more attractive, according to creativity, and can then meet market tastes. The development of tie-dye technique is one of interesting textile design creativity because it is a synergistic experiment between technique and color. The application of the tie-dye technique on T-shirts as a form of community empowerment activity is considered to have power to stimulate ideas for developing the creativity of Islamic boarding school students in Sukawarna Village. The combination of various techniques such as tying, folding, sewing, wrinkling, and dyeing creates a natural and expressive movement of absorbent color that occurs permanently on the fabric. The participatory demonstration method which is directly applied to media by the participants with lecturers and students’ assistance becomes an effective method in producing interesting works. Many cases lead to conflict occurs because most of us do not understand how to establish communication between cultures. Carnaval culture of Chinese Indonesian in the streets have opened the barriers of alienation, prejudice, stereotypes, injury history and social distance into an effective appreciation of culture that blends with the locality. Not just for actors who demonstrate the processions but also for spectators who appreciate performances. In both cases there have been a supple dialogue to build appreciation that could melt the barriers and form a new network of sense of wealth and pride culture that blend with each other. Bentuk visualnya yang dapat diolah bervariatif sangat dipengaruhi oleh teknik tarikan cairan warna yang dapat mengalir licin di atas media pasta tapioka. Ekplorasi ragam gerakan tarik seperti gerakan linear, melingkar, patahan, bergelombang, pemilihan warna dan teknik meneteskan cairan warna di atas bidang pasta sangat mempengaruhi hasil akhir seni Ebru. Warna yang dijatuhkan di atas media pasta tapioka akan tetap terapung siap dibuat garis-garis tarikan yang menimbulkan efek estetis. Eventough natural colors have less intensity than fabricated ones, they still has elegant taste. Ecoprint takes natural leaves shapes as the shaping and colouring medium. Natural color was obtained from leaves, flowers, wood chuck pigments. Ecoprint textiles ensured safety to whoever wore them. Not just from natural feeling, but added with pastel colors which soothe the soul. Ecoprint needs different treatment for each leaf type, because each has specific pigmentation. Experiment and exploration on the various pigments treatment on textile, mordanting and fixation. All of those process is an ongoing enrichment process for our cultural artefacts. This study uses interpretive analysis of the Indonesian costumes that follow international competitions from 2011 to 2015. Costumes display were able to be appreciated by International observers and managed to get award that will boost the country. This study uses interpretive analysis of the Indonesian costumes that follow international competitions from 2011 to 2015. The existence of national tradition costumes in the international event explaining its role as a form of non-verbal intercultural communication.
