In parallel with all these precautions, scientific laboratories are working on developing the appropriate vaccine, which in many cases takes many years. Until then, it is necessary to resort to many solutions, including solutions that rely on information technologies and artificial intelligence (AI). In this context, this paper proposes a new solution based on the ontology and rules of intelligent reasoning. Initially, the virus environment is analyzed, followed by the extraction and editing of the main elements of the ontology using the “Protégé” software. In the last step, the proposed solution is tested, by choosing the city of Adrar in southwestern Algeria, which was particularly affected by COVID-19. Three scenar...

The rapid increase in population and urbanization worldwide have increased the basic ways to manage urbanization, with maximum impact on the environment and lifestyle of the occupants. The prior integration of new information and communication technologies (ICTs) into urban operations has promoted the concepts of digital cities. The design of the Internet of Things for Smart Cities resulted in ensuring smart cities’ goals with minimum human interactions. The smart city is provided as the best solution to face the challenges associated with the exponential increase in population and urbanization. However, in recent years, the concept of a smart city is still evolving and not being integrated into the world due to financial and technological hurdles. This document aims to provide a knowledge platform on the concept of the smart city. The work presents a brief overview of this concept, followed by its characteristics, architecture, composition, and implementation in the real world. Finally, we expose some challenges and opportunities during a literature review on smart cities.

However, home automation is the set of techniques and technologies (building physics, computing, and telecommunications) that enable automation and improvement of tasks within a residence or a workplace; it also aims to provide solutions Comfort, management of energy, security, and communication. This includes intelligent management of all electrical functions through the introduction of computers and new technologies. Around this topic, we present our contribution concerning an agent-based modeling and simulation for a residence fueled by a hybrid system with renewable energy, the objective of which is to reduce energy consumption and ensure acceptable comfort for residents. We begin our work with state of the art on works that are related to our topic, in the second section, we present the methodologies of modeling and simulation, followed by a multiagent simulation for the management of energy in the third section. The fourth section is reserved for the choice of the platform used for our solution; the multi-agent modeling is shown in the fifth section. We conclude with a conclusion that includes a review of the work done and some perspectives.

This study aims to present principal geologic, hydrogeological, and hydrochemistry characteristics of the tablecloth of the Continental Guide in the area of Touat. This tablecloth is also called the tablecloth of the Gault. It is contained in the sandy-argillaceous formation of the Lower Cretaceous. From the chemical point of view, this water is very mineral-bearing and excessively hard, with strong contents of chlorides, sulfates, and sodium. The results showed that groundwater of the Adrar region is poor from the point of view of portability and they generally present risks on salinization for the soils. The Foggara is threatened of extinction (degradation, drying up, deterioration of water quality, etc.) because of problems local and regional related mainly on the exploitation and management of water, which requires a better vision for rational management of this resource to ensure sustainable development. For that, several recommendations are proposed.

It is well known for its Ksours, its palm groves and the good quality of its fruit and vegetables, especially the dates and their varieties. This region contains important groundwater and surface water resources. For several centuries, domestic water supply and irrigation have been carried out using traditional techniques of water harvesting such as pendulum wells and foggaras. Currently, this hydraulic heritage is meeting technical and social problems, particularly with the contribution of drilling and motor-pumps. The main issues are water table drawdown, the drying-up of water sources and degradation and decay of traditional techniques. The objective of this study is to make an inventory of all water sources in the study area, to study the impact of the contribution of modern techniques on ancestral techniques and finally to propose recommendations for safeguarding the hydraulic heritage.

This solution is of great importance for installers of hybrid energy systems, as it helps them obtain the best configuration of the hybrid energy system (efficient and less expensive). In this solution, it is sufficient to enter the name of the location of the hybrid energy system that we want to install; after that, the solution will show the name of the best technology from which the optimal configuration of this system can be obtained. To accomplish this goal, the study relied on the ontology approach for two reasons, one of which is related to the nature of hybrid systems, because it is characterized by a large amount of information that requires good structuring, and the second reason is the interaction of hybrid energy systems with the external environment (climate, site characteristics). Afterward, to develop the knowledge base of the ontology, many ...

The application of the instantaneous P-Q concept in wind energy conversion system (WECS) is introduced. The planned WECS is formed by permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) wind turbine connected to the electrical network through shunt active filter. SAF uses the generated wind energy to feed loads connected at the point of common coupling (PPC), compensates current harmonics and injects the excess of this energy into the electrical network. Firstly, the controller designed according to Fuzzy logic rules is such that the system is fundamentally robust. In the second case, the optimal adjustment of the membership functions and normalization gains are realized by using Ant Colony Optimization. Simulations results show the best dynamic behaviour and performance control compared with traditional Fuzzy controller, a...

It offers services such as optimizing the energy consumed while assuming green energy available at home. However, the random nature of this type of energy in the power generation, we require using a hybrid energy system (HES) accompanied by energy storage in the form of a battery. The home is considered a distributed system, it is composed of a set of elements that are geographically distributed and in permanent interaction. Following all its features, we chose two approaches for this solution, the multi-agent systems (MAS) for the control of the elements and the domain ontology to ensure a good formal representation of the data associated with the system. We propose a master-slave architecture. A slave agent is proposed for each device to control its local consumption and a single master agent is proposed to control all agents.
