Abdominal wall endometriosis is a rare entity. Most of the cases present with abdominal wall lump in and around surgical scars following cesarean section. Here, we report a series of 3 cases diagnosed as scar endometriosis on FNAC and after excision conrmed on histopathology.

Method: a 12 yr old male presented with multiple non scaly slowly progressive asymptomatic plaques of variable size and shape over the right forearm and a single plaque on left arm and right leg since 8 years in skin OPD, SMS hospital and clinically was thought to be 1) Cutaneous Leishmaniasis 2) Borderline tuberculoid leprosy. A biopsy from the lesion was taken and submitted for histological examination. Result: on performing histopathology, these lesions came out to be of ly mphangioma circumscriptum. Discussion: this case presents with different presentation as verrucous lesions, wherein usually it presents with clear vesicles. On microscopy it is composed of numerous dilated lymphatics in the superficial and papillary dermis with the presence of clear fluid. Overlying dermis shows aca...

It can also occur in the shoulder, ankle, elbow, hand or foot. A 45 year old female presented with bilateral swelling in both popliteal fossa. USG knee was suggestive of organized popliteal cyst??Hematoma. MRI left knee was suggestive of PVNS with evidence of calcification. MRI right knee showed diffuse thickening in synovium. FNAC was suggestive of Giant cell tumor of tendon sheath. A diagnosis of pigmented villonodular synovitis was made based on imaging findings and FNAC and was further confirmed by histopathological examination. PVNS is usually monoarticular. The case is presented because of unusual involvement of bilateral knee joints.

The key to their accurate recognition is the utilization of an integrated approach that assesses and correlates the clinical, radiological, morphological and biological behaviour of these lesions. Method: After complete clinical and plain radiographic examinations, FNAC was done. All eligible cases of bone tumors undergoing FNAC, slides were stained by H & E and MGG and confirmed by histopathological diagnosis Results: In our study out of 117 cases of bone tumors, satisfactory aspiration was obtained in 100 cases , 17 cases were unsatisfactory and 7 cases were misdiagnosed. 100 cases could be correlated and 93% correlation was obtained. Whereas sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 93.4%, 92.5%, 91.4% and 94.3% respectively Conclusion: Fine-needle aspiration of bone is a simple, reliable, and accurate diagnostic technique that can facilitate patient management and preoperative decision-making and/or avoid unnecessary invasive procedures.

We conducted a retrospective study to evaluate the prevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and syphilis among blood donors in a tertiary care hospital of SOUTHEAST RAJASTHAN, an eleven year experience,2001-2011. Blood donors who were selected for the study were either replacement donors or voluntary donors. Seroprevalence of antibodies against HCV and HIV as well as HBsAg antigen was studied by Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and Rapid plasma reagin was done for syphilis. Out of total 146885 blood donations 29.33% were voluntary donors and 70.67% were replacement donors. 3810 (2.59%) donors had serological evidence of infection with at least one pathogen, either of HIV, HBV, HCV or Syphilis. These included 490(0.33%) with HIV, 2703 (1.84%) with HBV, 153 (0.1%) with HCV and 464 (0.32%) with Syphilis. Blood transfusion is becoming a leading risk factor for spread of these above mentioned infections thus showing need and importance of screening of these infections in blood donations

Objective: To evaluate the performance of haematological screening parameters and CRP in blood culture positive neonatal sepsis. Methods: This prospective study was done over a period of one year. Blood samples from 100 clinically suspected neonatal septicemia cases were subjected to aerobic culture and Sepsis screen tests like C-Reactive protein, micro-ESR, total WBC count, Absolute neutrophil count, Immature/Total neutrophil count (I/T) ratio, Immature/mature neutrophil count (I/T) ratio and platelet count. The culture results were correlated with the Sepsis screen tests. Results: Of the 100 cases studied, 26%were blood culture positive. 72%were males. 56%were preterm and 40% were very low birth weight neonates. Early onset septicemia was more common, seen in 68% of cases than late onset septicemia (22.4%) cases. E. Coli was the commonest organism isolated in 38.46% of cases followed by klebsiella pneumoniae & staphylococcus aureus. Among the haematological parameters, the positivity was best with ANC & I/T Ratio (84.61%) and the least with platelet count (73.07%). Any 2 or more parameters were positive in 96.15% of the subjects. Conclusion: The sepsis parameters in predicting neonatal septicemia clinically needs further evaluation. Blood culture remains the gold standard for the diagnosis of neonatal septicemia. Combination of two or more sepsis screen parameters has better results in diagnosing neonatal septicemia compared to a single test while awaiting the blood culture results.
