This study aims analyzing the philosophy of huma betang as a solidarity prototype and the ethnic ... more This study aims analyzing the philosophy of huma betang as a solidarity prototype and the ethnic conflict prevention in the Dayak communities of Central Kalimantan. The ethnic conflict that occurred between Dayak and Madura ethnic in 2001 has caused trauma, so there is a need to prevent the conflict from recurring. This research was used depth interviews to some ethnic figures of Dayak people, Bali, Banjar, Java, Sulawesi, and Papua to discover the causes of conflict ethnic among Dayak and Madura; observation and document to analysis philosophy "Huma Betang". The research data are processed based on descriptive qualitative techniques. The results obtained: 1). Factors causing ethnic conflict of Dayak and Madura include: a). failure of ethnic coaching, territorial domination (politics); b). justice in legal process (law); c). tenacity in work (economy); d). differences in character and intercultural communication (social and culture); 2) the values of huma betang as symbol of solidarity and ethnic conflict prevention need to be understood, internalized, and implemented in community life because it contains value: be grateful for plurality, kinship, togetherness, solidarity, respect for individual rights (private/public).

Very important to provide understanding and awareness to students to manage religious differences... more Very important to provide understanding and awareness to students to manage religious differences into peace-loving characters. In Islamic education, it can be implemented in several ways, such as opposing violent methods and emphasizing the means of deliberation, upholding the values of togetherness, accepting the existence of various human attributes. The method of this study comprised of FGD in examining the curriculum of Islamic Education in Higher Education; developing Islamic Education curriculum models in strengthening the peace-loving character (the learning tools include syllabus, lesson plans, Media, and Evaluation). The results of the study demonstrated that the Islamic education curriculum in tertiary institutions was not yet oriented to human beings peace-loving character, and limited understanding was identified among the students regarding the implementation of that character in the classroom settings. The religious education provided at Palangka Raya University has not yet implemented interfaith education. It required the media to apply the students' understanding regarding the nature of human differences in activities involving different religions on a project. The Islamic Education Learning Toolkit was based on a student-based problem project with interfaith discussion techniques, making students solve problems that occur in the environment involving all students of different religions who take religious courses in odd semester of 2019/2020.

This research on implementing school literacy programs, supporting factors, and inhibiting the im... more This research on implementing school literacy programs, supporting factors, and inhibiting the implementation of school literacy program students and solutions are done by the school in overcoming the barriers to implementation of the Student literacy program in SMP Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya. The culture of reading through school literacy is a step in the student's character growth. This research uses qualitative methods, based on the fact that goes on now. Data collection techniques using interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation then draw conclusions or data verification. The results of the authors ' research led to the conclusion that: (1) Implementation of school literacy phase of habituation is 15 minutes reading non-book lessons, the development stage is to increase the reading ability by analyzing the books read, the learning stage is followed by analyzing and providing academic bills and increase the confidence of students through habituation and vigorous reading that was programmed by SMP Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya, (2) supporting factors and inhibitors of literacy activities in SMP Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya, infrastructure facilities, book library facility adequate, book donation of parents, teachers, and alumni, students are still minimal culture reading and late to class, (3) The solution motivates the students to follow the activities well, give direction or rebuke, appealed to all the school citizens whether teachers or students to love reading and writing to be a literate person.

General Education (GE) at the Palangka Raya University consists of multicultural students. Historically, there have been conflicts between students at Palangka Raya University and horizontal conflicts of the Dayak and Madura ethnic groups. Through a qualitative approach, the procedure of this research included: 1) FGD examines the GE curriculum 2) Workshop on the development of GE curriculum models based on Huma Betang values 3) Expert Validation of assessment on devices that have been developed 4) implementation of the GE model 5) The reflection of the Huma Betang value-based GE implementation. The results showed that the introduction to Huma Betang underscored the values ofhonesty, harmony, tolerance, and togetherness in diversity. This study aims to analyze the pattern of intergroup relation-based conflict resolution carried out by junior high school students. This article is the result of research conducted using the development (R&D) method with the stages of needs analysis, development, and testing. The data collection method was carried out by distributing questionnaires to public junior high schools randomly consisting of 799 respondents, namely 329 male and 470 female. ABSTRACT This paper aims to analyze the overall picture of Indonesian civic engagement, particula... more ABSTRACT This paper aims to analyze the overall picture of Indonesian civic engagement, particularly among Palangka Raya university students. Through a quantitative approach and survey method, the population and sample of the research include the students who were on their fourth (2015/2016) and second (2016/2017) semester about 2,422 students. The answers were then divided into three categories: good, moderate, and poor. As for the civic attitude and civic behavior variables, the maximum value is 5 and the minimum 1, and then the answers were divided into five categories: very high, high, moderate, low and very low. Findings reveal (i) the similarity of civic engagement in each faculty and level of the students who are on their fourth and second semester is in moderate category in terms of their knowledge based on identifying the governmental process, rights, and duties of citizens in terms of laws and politics, as well as the lecturers; (ii) the similarity of the high category of their attitude based on the values of humanity, empathy, openness, tolerance, ethics, and social responsibility; (iii) the difference of civic engagement between the second semester students who are low and the fourth semester who are high in terms of their behavior is determined by learning experience where the fourth semester students are more experienced in coping with the problems in community than the second semester counterparts. Recommendation for future research is the exploration of the reason behind the emerging unsynchronized results between the Indonesian civic knowledge, attitude, and behavior.

Historically, there have been conflicts between students at Palangka Raya University and horizontal conflicts of the Dayak and Madura ethnic groups. Through a qualitative approach, the procedure of this research included: 1) FGD examines the GE curriculum 2) Workshop on the development of GE curriculum models based on Huma Betang values 3) Expert Validation of assessment on devices that have been developed 4) implementation of the GE model 5) The reflection of the Huma Betang value-based GE implementation. This study aims to analyze the pattern of intergroup relation-based conflict resolution carried out by junior high school students. This article is the result of research conducted using the development (R&D) method with the stages of needs analysis, development, and testing. The data collection method was carried out by distributing questionnaires to public junior high schools randomly consisting of 799 respondents, namely 329 male and 470 female. Through a quantitative approach and survey method, the population and sample of the research include the students who were on their fourth (2015/2016) and second (2016/2017) semester about 2,422 students. The answers were then divided into three categories: good, moderate, and poor. As for the civic attitude and civic behavior variables, the maximum value is 5 and the minimum 1, and then the answers were divided into five categories: very high, high, moderate, low and very low. Findings reveal (i) the similarity of civic engagement in each faculty and level of the students who are on their fourth and second semester is in moderate category in terms of their knowledge based on identifying the governmental process, rights, and duties of citizens in terms of laws and politics, as well as the lecturers; (ii) the similarity of the high category of their attitude based on the values of humanity, empathy, openness, tolerance, ethics, and social responsibility; (iii) the difference of civic engagement between the second semester students who are low and the fourth semester who are high in terms of their behavior is determined by learning experience where the fourth semester students are more experienced in coping with the problems in community than the second semester counterparts. Recommendation for future research is the exploration of the reason behind the emerging unsynchronized results between the Indonesian civic knowledge, attitude, and behavior.
