Öz Bu çalışmada, Türkiye'deki büyükbaş hayvansal atıklardan üretilebilecek biyogaz enerjisi potan... more Öz Bu çalışmada, Türkiye'deki büyükbaş hayvansal atıklardan üretilebilecek biyogaz enerjisi potansiyeli yardımıyla iller bazında elektrik enerjisi miktarı belirlenerek, elde edilebilecek elektrik enerjisinin kullanılan elektrik enerjisini karşılama yüzdelerinin belirlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bununla birlikte iller bazındaki biyogaz tesisleri haritalandırılmış ve elektrik enerjisi elde etmek için büyükbaş hayvansal atıkların işlenebileceği biyogaz tesisleri de haritalandırılarak, bu haritalar kıyaslanmaya çalışılmıştır. Elde edilen değerler, konuyla ilgili literatür bilgileri ile karşılaştırılarak gerekli hesaplamalar yapılmıştır. Araştırmada Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu'nun 2020 yılı verileri dikkate alınarak, 81 ilde bulunan süt sığırı ve et sığırı sayılarına bağlı olarak, üretilebilecek biyogaz enerjisi ve biyogazdan elde edilebilecek elektrik enerjisi miktarı hesaplanmıştır. Türkiye'de büyükbaş hayvansal atıklarından elde edilebilecek potansiyel biyogaz enerjisi miktarının 2361063163 MJ olduğu ve bu biyogaz enerjisinin yaklaşık 656375,63 MWh elektrik enerjisine eşdeğer olduğu belirlenmiştir. Elektrik enerjisi üretim potansiyelinin belirlenmesi ile illerin kullandığı elektrik enerjisini hangi yüzde ile karşılayabileceği, bu yüzdelerin enerji planlamalarında değerlendirilebileceği ve ayrıca bununla birlikte elde edilen haritaların ise biyogaz tesislerine yapılacak olan yatırım planlamalarına da katkı sağlayabileceği öngörülmektedir.

These terms are in close relation with the “active ageing”, “age-friendly city” and “liveable city” concepts. These concepts were created by the UN, the World Health Organization, and other institutions aiming to increase the quality of life of older individuals and to regulate their living environments in an optimal way for an active and independent life. The aim of this study is to select new landfill sites in Antalya, Turkey which is the fifth bigge... more The aim of this study is to select new landfill sites in Antalya, Turkey which is the fifth biggest city according to the population, approximately 1.2 million. It is the first rank according to the population growth rate in Turkey. The city of Antalya is the touristic places and its climate is Mediterranean climate. Therefore, choosing landfill site is very crucial and it affects the future of the city. Existing landfill site will not be sufficient in near future. The study was implemented in the Aksu, Dosemealti, Kepez, Konyaalti, and Muratpasa districts in Antalya. The study area has almost 1980 km-square. Twelve parameters which are geology, fault lines, landslides, river, lake, elevation, slope, aspect, population, rain, road network, and temperature data were determined. This paper is based on the combination of a Geographic Information System (GIS) and tools or mult... more This paper is based on the combination of a Geographic Information System (GIS) and tools or multicriteria decision making (MCDM) methods in order to obtain the evaluation of the optimal placement of photovoltaic solar power plants in the area of Cartagena (Region of Murcia), in southeast Spain. The combination GIS-MCDM generates an excellent analysis tool that allows for the creation of an extensive cartographic and alphanumeric database that will later be used by multi-criteria methodologies to simplify problems to solve and promote the use of multiple criteria. In GIS two types of criteria will be reflected: constraints or restrictive criteria, and weighting criteria or factors. Constraints or restrictive criteria will make it possible to reduce the area of study by discarding those areas that prevent the implementation of renewable energy plants. These criteria will be obtained from the legislation (planning regulations, protected areas, road networks, railways, waterways, mountains, etc). Weighting criteria or factors will be those which, according to the objective to be reached, influence the ability to solve a concrete alternative. The choice of such criteria is marked by the influence presented to the overall goal; in this case they will be location, geomorphological, environmental and climatic criteria. Through the use of MCDM the criteria or factors mentioned will be weighted in order to evaluate potential sites to locate a solar plant. Analysis and calculation of the weights of these factors will be conducted using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The assessment of the alternatives according to their degree of adequacy is carried out through the TOPSIS method (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution).

Malkara coals are located in the Oligocene-aged Danişmen Formation in the Thrace Tertiary coal ba... more Malkara coals are located in the Oligocene-aged Danişmen Formation in the Thrace Tertiary coal basin. The Danişmen Formation consists of limestone, sandstone, tuffite, siltstone, claystone and intercalated coal. Elemental and specific natural radionuclide concentrations of lignites collected from Tekirdağ–Malkara coalfield were determined, and the associated radiological risk was assessed. In order to examine the depth-dependent radionuclide concentration changes, samples were taken from top, middle and bottom parts of the boreholes. Gamma spectrometric measurements of radionuclide activities were performed with HPGe detector. The calculated mean 226Ra, 232Th and 40K concentrations were 27.0 ± 3.57, 18.9 ± 3.28 and 155 ± 36.1 Bq kg−1, and the measured U, Th, Pb and K concentrations were 4.04, 6.27, 10.6 ppm and 0.82%, respectively. However, in terms of the heat release rate, size of the burned area, damage, and impact zone, such fires have a large impact as compared to other fire cases. All fires have risk in terms of propagation. However, since fires in industrial structures and plants have rather high levels, qualitatively and quantitatively, compared to residential fires and other types of fires, it should be regarded as necessary to research them extensively. In this study, fires that have broken out in various places around Turkey, such as in factories, cold storage plants, and manufacturing facilities, were investigated.
